Yooper sanctuary and vacation
22 ft travel trailer Ā· Group trip Ā· Great family, that cared about how we were: comfortable & able to join them anytime. At one point their family thought we were friends or family of a wedding, that was taking place across the lake. It was hilarious, and felt welcoming. We didn't join the wedding festivities, but loved the music. They didn't play late, and we didn't hear any rowdiness. Think I heard relaxing piano music after dark. They are kid friendly, and our dogs enjoyed all the space. Site options gave us lots of room. Beautiful area, and short walk to lake. Outhouse was convenient since no sewer hookup. They are working on a shower, which would be amazing, because RV showers have to be super short. We were surrounded by beautiful woods. Had picnic table, and cute fire ring. We saw a fox, deer, and a baby black cub with no mama bear. We were close enough to NMU (30 minute drive), and a dollar general not too far. Also local hospital was about 40 minutes away (I got a hook stuck in hand, and had to visit E.R. on a Sunday evening). We explored waterfalls, Picture Rocks, and Sporley Lake. Fishing was pretty good, and the water is beautiful. We brought our kayaks, but they had some available also. And we could store ours at the bottom of the stairs, so we wouldn't have to climb all the stairs back up, with them. Thank you to the family for such a great spot!
