Pay or do work exchange and receive fresh vegetarian meals, use the camper bathrooms attached to the main house (flush toilets, hot showers) - or give us a call and work out the details of your stay. Find out about cross country ski or mountain biking trails, or swimming holes (of which there are many nearby!) - depending on the season. We are near the North Country Trail, and are as social or as private, as spiritual or secular as you'd like to explore and share. Song of the Morning, a Yoga Retreat of Excellence, offers an opportunity to become immersed in the simplicity, serenity and sustenance of a balanced yogic lifestyle. We offer a place of spiritual refreshment and relaxation to those on a conscious spiritual journey toward union with the Divine, to those hoping to discover their own highest potential – and to all who seek respite from the worries and cares of the world. Whether you’re looking for a personal retreat or an opportunity to learn spiritual tools from our own daily practices and those offered in programs year-round, Song of the Morning awaits you. Long ago, a logging camp - longer ago, inhabited by native tribes. In 1970, established by J. Oliver Black, a direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda (author of Autobiography of a Yogi) as a retreat center. Hugged by the Pigeon River State Forest, an hour from the Upper Peninsula, in between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron - we are well situated as a stopping point to explore the state.
