Welcome to WaterTrail Ventures! Where the pavement ends, adventure begins. Come adventure with us!! Our riverbend glamping site awaits your arrival! Located on our private river bank this is on 3 acres of land shared by 2 personal glamping sites and a rustic group campsite. Our sight offers scenic views of sunrise on the riverbend as well as the New Richmond Swing Bridge. Now open to pedestrian traffic only, the small county park next door offers a riverside boardwalk full of natural flora and wildlife for morning strolls or the delight of a fisherman who likes to be 1st on the water! Kayak and Canoe Rentals are also available on sight by appointment or reserve one with your tent. Hiking trails nearby offer a great way to explore the Allegan Forest and reconnect with nature. 7 miles east of Saugatuck and 5 miles north of Fennville, our site makes a perfect escape from the nearby lakeshore district and tourist attractions. Just follow the paved road all the way to the end and enter through our private drive. ....where the pavement ends, adventure begins! See ya at the river!

FIREWOOD PROVIDED!! Our group site is located riverside, in a wide open area under the stars right on the riverbank, where you can pitch upto 4 tents or 2 camper trailers up to 22' long around a community fire pit and picnic table. It can also be combined with our Trestle Bell site to make your group space a little larger. We provide the firewood and 5 gal fresh water jug with hand pump.

Our property is located on the Lower Kalamazoo River at the New Richmond river bend. The nostalgic aire of this historic trestle crossing will grip your senses as you drive down to the end of 57th Street to New Richmond Bridge. The swing bridge , now a pedestrian walking bridge, is listed on the National Registry of Historic Locations. Our village was once a bustling center of commerce on the Kalamazoo River, but now sits quietly on the New Richmond Riverbend. My driveway is where the concrete ends and the fun begins!! Our 13' diameter Cabana Bell Tent on our private river bank is furnished with 3 air mattresses, linens, throw rugs, picnic table, fire ring and small grill. Firewood is provided and charcoal for the first meal. (bring xtra charcoal). We even supply a 5 gal water jug with hand pump. This is a great spot to retire after a day of fun and excitement touring our natural river or the local wineries. Local to the Saugatuck Lakeshore, we are minutes away from shopping, dining and local nightlife along the waterfront as well as countryside wineries and vineyards. We also offer kayak and canoe rentals onsite.

This unit tucked away in the rear of the property offers panoramic view of the river with privacy mesh to keep out bugs and limit view in from outside. Enjoy your view of the river from your fully screened tent or drop the outer shades for full privacy. We provide a King Koil, queen size air mattress furnished with linens and pillows or 4 twin air mattresses, 2 adirondack style lounge chairs and throw blankets to take the chill off. Includes picnic table with wrap around bench and fully stocked fire pit. Charcoal grill with basic grill utensils and enough charcoal for your first meal and 5 gal water jug with hand pump. Please bring your own disposable dinnerware. Surrounded by the Allegan State Game Area for nature enthusiasts and minutes away from lake shore shopping district of Saugatuck that offers amazing nightlife entertainment, all our area has to offer and an overall great place to relax. Located in the river hamlet of New Richmond. This historical village once hosted the only train depot between the Lakeshore and Allegan and played a major role in our region's establishment. Today it is little more than a forgotten river hamlet with the train trestle passing through. Although an active track to this day, it has not been intrusive to the peace and tranquility of our river bend.

This historic jewel sits nestled in the river bend at New Richmond on the Lower Kalamazoo River. Riverman's dream come true! Stocked fire pit on riverbank. Sleeps 2 comfortably with futon in main room for a 3rd person, 1 bedroom w/full size bed, dresser, reading nook/dining area. Shower and Kitchen sink with hot running water (10 gal tank) and electricity! Kitchen has pots/pan with cooking utensils, dorm style fridge, microwave, coffee pot and disposable dinnerware. Outside you will find a charcoal grill and picnic table in the private yard. Seperated from our livery operation at the lower end of the property, this is a great place to relax and enjoy an evening on the river with your favorite person, beverage and a fishing pole. See ya at the river!

Great hospitality and communication. Julie helped us out with good directions and updates on the river, as we were canoeing in for the night. She even had a fire going for us when we arrived. Had a great time.

Bring Earplugs, Real Air Mattresses
Trestle Bell
Three major things really impacted our trip and sleep. One was that the air mattresses provided were super cheap and any time you moved they would squeak like sleeping on a balloon. Definitely bring your own. The other major flaw of this site that they do not mentioned, is that its like 100 meters from an active rail service. We were woken up from sleep at 2:30 am, 4:00am, 5:00 am, and 6:30 am by service trains and freight trains going through the area and because of the location and the bluffs you get to listen to the train noise and blaring horns on the way in and out in stereo. Lastly there is a church that rents out the yard just across the street with a noisy wedding party complete with music, drunks on speakers, and just a loud crowd. Needless to say we didn't really sleep. Would highly recommend not staying there unless your immune to noise.

Wonderful site in a great location!

We loved our time at Trestle Bell! It was so nice to arrive to our site and have firewood waiting for us, as well as potable water. We really enjoyed the riverside location near Fennville and it was a short drive to Saugatuck and Douglas.

We had a wonderful time camping here. Julie was a great host. She was very responsive and kind. The campsite was clean and quiet. We had a nice time renting some of her kayaks and a canoe to get the full river experience too. Also, my husband enjoyed fishing the river. We would highly recommend staying here!

A step back in time
Riverside Camp Cabin
The cabin at Riverside was absolutely adorable! All the ambience of a true fishing cabin from long ago. Julie and Bill were fantastic hosts. The communication was spectacular and they responded to us immediately when a little hiccup occurred. The cabin is situated right on the river and there are boats and kayakers waving as they pass. There is a train directly across the street hidden by some trees, so you will hear the train noises, but that didn’t bother us any. It’s not a secluded site, but you still have privacy. You really only need to bring your clothes because everything else has been provided for you. Fennville is a cute little town with a surprisingly well appointed grocery store and some great dining spots. It’s a short distance to Saugatuck, Holland, and a little farther to South Haven. We had a great day and would love to come back again to do some kayaking! Thank you, Bill and Julie!

We loved tent camping at this site. The wood was well stocked and the water provided was so helpful. The toilets are clean and the mornings are peaceful by the river. This location is so close to nearby wineries and breweries. We are looking forward to going back!

Worth It, But Be Aware

The host was pleasant and met us upon checking in. She made sure we knew that our dogs were to be haltered at all times. However, during our stay, the site host's dog came running through our camp, heading to our close neighbor's dog, and it was not on a leash at all. We booked this site because of the description of being "secluded", which was not so that we could have privacy and room for our dogs. The yurt was very cool and the scenery was very pretty. My only complaint is that is was not as secluded or quiet as the posting would lead you to believe.

This was a lovely spot! Very peaceful and quiet. The site is exactly as pictured. We had a great fire and kayaked with the on-site company the next morning. The hosts were very accommodating.

The host is very communicative and friendly! The site is beautiful! However, it was not as private as we had hoped. The kayak/canoe area was right by the campsite, and the staff were frequently coming in and out to prepare them. There was also a wedding across the street, and the music was very loud. In addition, we kept being woken up because of the loud trains passing by.

Very clean and private camping area. Grass was freshly mowed when we arrived and plenty of fresh water and fire wood were supplied and ready. Large trash barrel and porta-potty are along the roadside nearby. There’s a fire ring and a large picnic table for meal preparation. Road nearest to the site dead ends so there’s very little outside traffic. Hosts are very friendly and checked up on us daily. We had 2 tents but there was ample room for probably 4-6 more. Glamping sites are close by but there’s still plenty of privacy. Will definitely be returning next season!!

The space is HUGE and great for groups. You have plenty of space from the neighbors, so you’re not on top of each other, despite the semi open field. The porta John’s were clean upon our arrival and did not smell whatsoever. The added 5 gallons of water and firewood included was an added bonus! The site is just off the riverbed which is so nice for water activities. We took tubes and floated while connected to a tree. Dogs loved it as well. The staff was SO kind and extra kind to our dogs! 5/5 stars! Would visit again!

The staff were so kind and accommodating! We appreciated that they provided water and firewood and offered us info about the area. And we enjoyed the spacious grassy site, perfect for a game of whiffleball. We also loved being able to walk from the campsite along the river. And the beaches close by were great! Highly recommend this area.

the depot site had everything we needed and more. there was firewood for us already, potable water, a bbq, air mattress with blankets and even a dog bed. would recommend for anyone looking to glamp!

Great hosts, super accomodating. Had split firewood and a large jug of water ready for us. Very cool setting along the river, tons of room in the group site and situated far from other sites. The area can be a little noisy at night, there is a semi-active rail line that passes by and train horns may wake you up but no complaints otherwise.

This is a very beautiful place. The cottage itself is quite rustic, not terribly clean, and a bit strange. This would all be fine because the riverside is so gorgeous. However I just don’t think it’s worth the price we paid once it was all said and done.
