A gorgeous single site on acres of land. Neighbors nearby but only heard an occasional dog bark and cow moo. Saw deer and sandhill cranes. Composting outhouse was extremely clean. Plenty of firewood. Did not use the solar power but awesome to have if you need power. Nice fire ring with grill for cooking.
Would absolutely book again!

We went for the stars and they did not disappoint. The whole experience was magical. We enjoyed the stars at night and woke listening to geese and sandhill cranes. Jake’s attention to detail really stands out. The super clean outhouse, solar charger, downloadable library and fire pit made a very enjoyable stay.

Nice little quiet spot to spend a day or two at, Jake is a fantastic guy and keeps the place well kept together. Cell service is a little spotty, but if you have starlink, Etc you’ll be set!

The spot is quiet, far enough away from residential homes, and there’s no other campers. Convenient compostable toilet in outhouse. Easy enough to use that our kids ages 4-10 were fine. Our smallest one needed help with making sure things fell in the correct hole in the toilet and the older ones needed help with the door which was stiff. Pleasant experience overall. Beautiful mornings and sunsets over the meadow. We brought an extension cord and successfully powered a slow cooker with the solar panel outlet on a cloudy rainy day. Bugs were abundant but manageable. Picnic table was in good condition as was the fire pit. There were a couple of deeper depressions in the ground that were filled with bricks or something that created hazards and one was on the way from the fire pit to the outhouse. We made sure to notify all in our camp of the hazard so thankfully no one stepped in accidentally. Definitely on our list to camp again.

Very cool spot. Wonderful price for a site with a toilet, electricity, and firewood. The mosquitoes were pretty bad, but that comes with being right next to a lake. Thank you Jake!

Beautiful campsite with pretty views. It was very convenient having wood available at the campsite and the compositing toilet was a bonus. Nice firepit with grate. We saw deer everyday in the meadow and lots of rabbits around. Lots of fun for the kids and there is a small gas station for necessities a few minutes up the road.

This spot was awesome. We were just passing through for a night on our way to the UP. We were able to top off our batteries with the provided electrical which was awesome. And the outhouse was clean and tidy, always a bonus.
If we had more time to stay, we would have.

Beautiful large spot. The sunset was gorgeous. The solar panel really pumps out some power! The dogs enjoyed watching the bunnies. The bathroom is impeccably clean. The wood supply is fantastic. Fire pit is positioned for a perfect view. The dirt road has a few potholes so drive carefully.

Jake has created a very special campsite. Having an outlet was invaluable as I don't have a car charger, and firewood was beyond plentiful. The land itself is beautiful and the sunset was stunning. I can easily say it's in my top 3 hipcamp sites I've ever visited and it's definitely on my list for a return trip! I recommend checking out Wildwood Cafe in Indian River for some delicious coffee as well.

Jake’s land was beautiful, easy to access, and private. The provided wood and lighters was lovely, as was it to have some electricity. We only stayed for a night as this was just a stop on our road trip but could have easily enjoyed the property for much longer. It was super buggy compared to other sites we stayed in with flies and mosquitos but we had fortunately anticipated it considering all of the water around—definitely bring repellent and a bug net. BEAUTIFUL stars.

Such an amazing piece of property that the host graciously allows campers to utilize. Private, even though there are houses within sight, can't hear them and you are pretty hidden behind a tree line. The composting outhouse was a definite plus for a family of 4. The solar power system was great. Kept camper lights on, used our coffee maker instead of French press, and never had a low battery alarm in the camper. Cooking grate for the fire pit is big enough to cook anything you would bring. The amount of firewood supplied far surpassed what we expected and was very generous. Extra touches that were much appreciated: extra lighters, kindling, axe, smore skewer, and quality toilet paper. Saw sandhill cranes,multiple deer, bluejays, and a satellite train. Night skies were beyond incredible for star gazing. Only 20 min I to Cheboygan and 35-40 to Mackinaw City. We would definitely love to stay again. Such a beautiful and relaxing stay

Secluded and clean campsite - bathroom is great and clean - follow host’s clear instructions for using the composting toilet. Easy to get in and out - ample firewood. Great picnic table and firepit. Enjoyed watching the stars. Saw a few deer. Dogs loved running around off leash. Only 30 mins from Mackinac City - great day trip during our second day camping. Host was responsive and communicated well.

This is one of the best HipCamp experiences I’ve had. Easy to get to. Lots of space for a dog to run. Firewood. Power. A toilet… and everything worked. Slept like a baby with a sweet, soft storm in the distance. Can’t guarantee the storm but can guarantee you’ll love this space.

Private, great firepit, peaceful surroundings! I drove a 36 ft class A, driving slow on private road was key, wasn't that wet or muddy otherwise it could of been issue. I sank in place at camp, so if you got alot of weight be sure to shift.

This is a beautiful rustic campsite that makes you feel secluded from the rest of the world but doesn't actually put you in the middle of nowhere. On your walk to the outhouse, be weary of uneven spots. Bring plenty of bug spray.

Beautiful campsite looking out onto fields and forests. Near permanent houses but it still feel very private. Toilet and electricity available and in great condition! Would recommend to anyone! Saw loads of wildlife the drive in and in the morning.

Beautiful spot! I highly recommend, very private, the “ puthouse” very very clean, abundant firewood and a spectacular view! I had 4 deer greet me the first morning and a ball of pink fire for a moon!

This was a great place to stay! Finding it was a little difficult for us but Jake answered his phone right away and helped us back on track. It’s nice spot, beautiful views and very spacious. We ask enjoyed our time. Jake has a nice little outhouse on site as well as wood to use. He has solar panels for electricity, which worked excellent. 100% recommend staying here, we would love to go back!

Would stay again. We stay in a fully contained camper with solar and a bathroom. So we didn't use the outhouse or the solar power provided. But the solar wood shed was pretty cool. I would like one at home. The fire pit was good and the firewood provided was a great touch. I wasn't expecting a grill that could be used over the fire. It worked great for my steaks. The site was private and quiet. Bugs were minimal. Only complaint would be that it is not very level.

We had a great time tent camping on Jake’s land. The supplied firewood was so helpful when we arrived, in the dark. The solar panel and composting toilet were nice touches as well. We had a beautiful view of the bay field and it felt private. We would definitely camp there again.

This was a perfect campsite!! Very secluded and great views!! I enjoyed seeing the deer in the fields and the spectacular sunsets! The neighbors are very friendly and the ones at the end of the lane gave us permission to put our kayaks in on their property. The composting toilet was much appreciated as well as the firewood and solar panels.

This campsite was for sure my favorite so far. It was definitely secluded and had beautiful views. The outhouse was the cleanest I've seen so far. And the fact that it had free wood and electricity made Camping at this location. Much more comfortable than I was expecting.
