Such an amazing, beautiful spot! Had such a quiet night with great paths to walk and amazing scenery, along with the relaxing sounds of nature!!

Very cool private site. We loved walking down the country road and gazing at the meadow. The marked trail at the campsite was fun to explore. Almost no mosquitoes at the end of June! 5 minutes from Halls Lake, a beautiful lake with small beach and playground. We kayaked 2 days in a row there. Will plan to come back to E's campsite!

Overall we enjoyed this space, but next time I would rather try something new and different.
I am very happy with the privacy and narural beauty. Great for people without children. It is not far from the neighbors farms. I imagined a bigger site but it was plenty big enough for us, just not much flat space for the tent.
The ATVs were loud, but I didn't mind hearing the animals.
The creek was small, the pictures made it look bigger. The trees are marked with ribbons to find it. The first time we went way down a different trail, but it was nice to explore.

I loved every minute of it, we cooked delicious steaks and ate cinnamon rolls. The stars were gorgeous and river beautiful. Camping but you don’t wanna see RVs and share with a bunch of people? This is the spot. Couldn’t find shovel or bucket provided but that’s okay, the fire grate left there was perfect. Someone left their poop sadly :( but picked it up. Hard to find don’t follow maps just find the named road and look for sign with the word “hip”, took an hour to find because google led us wrong.

We loved staying here! Lovely spot for one or two night tent camping. The woods are very active at dusk - we heard cayotes and what we think was a bobcat pretty close by. We love having private space with our reactive dog, so thank you so much!

It was a very peaceful little cut out in the woods. You could hear the coyotes all night so if your Looking for a nature getaway would definitely recommend this spot :).

The site was difficult to find, the rocks on either side Host said to look for was covered by weeds. Branches hung over so low on the 2 track trail we could not get our truck camper through. We boon dock alot but this site could've used some weed whipping. Unfortunately we had to go home.

The campsite was nice. A true get away, quiet and peaceful. Had a hard time finding location says private property no house or building near the site it's pretty much in the woods off the street. The river was barely there but the pink tape is the trail you would want to follow to find it if interested. Got loud at night with air planes. Nice sky view and pretty well maintained. It's hard to find a camp spot with no other people so for that alone is a 5 out of 5 for me. Simple and a true camp feeling. So many campsites are glamping now, so it's nice to have just the basics.

This spot was a great place to unwind. It felt private, and had a good place to dip in the river if you're up for walking through some tall grass. Even in the rain it was still a great spot to be for a weekend.

It was lovely. I walked down the River, super chill. Private. Watch out for sinking in mud patches. Never saw poison ivy or ticks. Lots of coyotes at night, which was a bit spooky, but I had my dog with me. I had no cell service, which at first caused me anxiety but then became part of the value.

Though we had a small bit of trouble spotting the way up to the site, and the wood paid for wasn't the dryest, there was very little to complain about the site itself. The space was plentiful, and really did feel private. It was a peaceful experience and both my friend and I have noted this location for future tent damping. It was great weekend, so thank you for approving our stay on such quick notice!

This spot was gorgeous, easy to access and surrounded by so many full trees and medicinal plants. We enjoyed some of the blackberries and raspberries that were ripe when we were there. We happened to be there on the night of the super blue moon and oh my gosh what. A. TREAT. We will absolutely return to this beautifully scaped camping spot.

The site was very private and extremely clean! The firewood we requested was ready and waiting, a long with buckets of water to extinguish fires. Loved the history of the site as an old 70s party spot!
You can hear a variety of farm animals from a distance, goats, horses, cows, roosters etc. They all quieted down after dark.
The Woods Trail shown on the map in the photo album on HipCamp was in pretty good shape, save for some brush at the entrance to the woods. What some people thought in past reviews was poison ivy is actually just virginia creeper and wild raspberry bushes. Both harmless.
The meadow trail to the creek was overgrown up to my shoulders. The bog you need to cross to get theree could also use a new piece of plywood or 2 to walk over. A simple mow of the trail and maybe part of the creek bank so there is a place to relax by it would make it perfect!

We have lived in Michigan for 3 years, haven't had a chance to camp a whole lot in this state with our 3 year old, and enjoyed our family time at this site. It's driving distance (10 mins) to Bundy Hill Nature Preserve, where we thoroughly enjoyed learning a bit about Michigan's intensely rich history.

Overall, we had a good experience at the campsite. Host was always responsive and helpful. The spot was private, secluded, and the stars at night was beautiful! However, we didn’t end up walking to the creek, which we were looking forward to because the grass was too tall that we could barely tell where the trail is and/or led. Even so, we still had a great time to be away and just relax :)

If I were to have a go-to HipCamp, this would be it. It is a relative close distance to my home, it is secluded, surrounded by forest, there is a stream you can hike to. It is very relaxing and a good place to escape for the weekend. It is very clean, safe, and the host is always extremely helpful and kind. Can't wait to go back!

what a lovely place! it’s perfect if you like to be alone. it’s hidden from the road and all other houses, and pretty much as quiet as you’re gonna find unless you’re in the actual wilderness. there are nearby farms with the occasional barking dog, but that’s pretty far away and I didn’t find it bothersome. can’t wait to come back!
