Learn more about this land: Welcome to North Country Camp! While here, you are within minutes to several lakes, streams, hiking trails and two mountains for skiing and snowboarding and everything else Center Township has to offer. While camping at North Country, you may camp in your car, tent, trailer, truck camper or over land camper. There are no hookups whatsoever, and everything you use must be packed out. Just 9 miles away you have Wilderness State Park. With sites like these, who needs a stinkin' house! Wilderness State Park’s 10,000 acres of land is not just vast, but down right stunning. Direct lake shore campsites, spirit-freeing sun-scapes, and 26 miles of sandy Lake Michigan shores certainly add up to one wondrous wilderness. Hikes from 3/4-mile to 5 1/2 miles leave you breathless, not from the difficulty, but the unique atmosphere of secluded hardwood forests, wet, open meadows, and ponds scattered like sun spots. Wanna catch up on your geocaching skills? They’ve got a trail for it! 16 geocaches along the way will have you feeling like a modern day Lewis and Clark. Boppin’ around the hugeness of Wilderness sure will get you good and zonked. Just north of the Little Traverse Bay, lies Petoskey State Park. Three hundred and three striking acres of beautiful sandy beaches promises the urge to bathe in the moonlit waters. There is no boat launch on the beach (check out Harbor Springs if you’re looking for a lift off) so the water is tame and perfect for swimming. There is a beach house in the park as well as a picnic area, making this the perfect place to shimmy down to your skivvies and take a dip. Go get lost outside on foot and check out the Old Baldy or the Portage Trail, both accessible from the park. For overnight trips, choose from Dunes or Tannery Creek. Just outside of the park, art and culture boom in Harbor Springs. This is the perfect destination for every nature lover! Fires are allowed in designated fire pit only. Please respect the land and leave no trace. Thank you and enjoy your stay!

Harvest Moon 22
We had a great time camping at this beautiful site! The fire pit was perfect to keep us warm and toasty on a couple of chilly nights! There were nice big bundles of wood for sale conveniently located 4 miles from camp. Just take a left out of drive and it’ll be on your right. The campsite was easy to find and had everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful night camping under the harvest moon! We absolutely will stay here again! Sean was a great host 😊

North Country Camp
Beautiful piece of property! Nice level concrete pad to setup the trailer on. Beautiful campfire area with a few unexpected extras to use, like a grill. Sean was very responsive when I asked questions. Highly recommend this spot. It is sort of close to an intersection, so there is traffic noise, but it settles down as the evening goes on. I camped for one Friday night, so it may have been people arriving for the weekend. The star gazing is great on a clear night. A shout out to Small Town Grill in Pellston, a great spot for breakfast

North Country Camp
It was a nice site for what we needed - something close to the Dark Sky Park. The gate gave a sense of security, however the padlock and chain were rusty and difficult to use.

North Country Camp
Secluded campsite with concrete pad which made set up a breeze. Fantastic firepit. The air smelled amazing with all the trees and flowers in bloom. Would definitely recommend this hipcamp to anyone visiting Northern Michigan.

North Country Camp
Beautiful scenery, mostly quiet, occasional traffic sounds from the road. The cement slab makes for a nice level spot for your camper trailer. Our dogs enjoyed sniffing around their area, tethered to a nearby tree. Very convenient spot for driving over to Pellston and Cheboygan for some hiking, antiquing, and visiting brewpubs!
