A great site!

This is a beautiful and very private site. I will absolutely be staying here again. The only thing I would caution about is there is poison ivy hanging into the first part of the path leading to the site and that the end of the board that goes over the stream goes into the water when you step on it. But if you keep this in mind when crossing, your foot will stay dry. Say hi to the kitty that might visit your site! She’s very friendly.

Lakefront Lodging!

I loved my campsite here! The site itself is cozy and quite small, but I was able to find a comfortable spot to put my 4-person tent. You could see the lagoon and the lake from the campsite, which was great, and the access to the beach is unmatched. Amazing sunset view and stargazing, and I had a wonderful time walking along the beach at sunrise. The only downside is that it's a little stinky and quite buggy because of the sitting water, though I did not see any mosquitos among the bugs.

The site was beautiful! Very close to the lake and walking distance to legs inn. The only downside is the apple tree on the spot which dropped a ton of apples and the bees were swarming them.

Overall had a great time, nice campground and had everything we needed. BUT someone took our campsite. It was hard getting ahold of the host/support. Once we got through they directed us to an overflow campsite. It worked out, but if they did not have that then we would have been SOL, out of a site because the person with a big RV never left our site we booked. (And we barely had service to contact support). 7.5/10 ranking.

Site 3 did not disappoint!

We truly enjoyed staying at Site 3- Lake Side East last weekend. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Previous reviews were accurate and helpful. Site 3 does not have a clear number, like site 1 and 2. We didn't realize at first that we could drive through to site 3, but were excited to see a larger, more private area to park by our site. The view of the lake from our site was amazing! We didn't have any problem with mosquitoes certainly because of the constant breeze off the lake. The sound of waves crashing all night long was amazing and soothing. Our only regret was the small things we hadn't prepared well enough for (first timers) and that we didn't have more time to enjoy it all. We have decided we need to return again to site 3, but next time we'll need a week to enjoy it all.

Loved this campsite! Very close to the water with easy access to the boardwalk to access the lake. Only thing to keep in mind is the proximity to the public beach and boat launch means there will be crowd noises until late at night. Otherwise, it is a great campsite in a lovely town. Would 100% come back to experience the beautiful lake vieux and sounds!

We were not able to use our reservation this year, due to heath issues. However, we stayed there last year and know it to be a little piece of paradise, right on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Can't wait to come back.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We booked to come back even before our trip ended. The view from our campsite was beautiful. We were worried about mosquitos being so close to the lagoon but surprisingly, it was not bad. No “swampy” smells either. Our 4 person tent fit perfectly in the spot off to the right side when entering the campsite. It would probably fit to the left side but there are a few small tree stumps that you would have to deal with. It was soothing to fall asleep to the waves crashing along the shoreline. You’ll find that campsite 1 & 2 has numbers to show their spot. Site 3 did not have a number to indicate it, but it was pretty intuitive that it was the correct spot.

Great spot, gets shaded from the sun at about 2pm. Pretty flat set up spots, firewood was available to us. And ZER0 light pollution so looking at the stars was amazing. I caught these two photos on my iPhone.

We loved this campsite and location, clean, well kept and close to Lake Michigan - we will stay there again for sure. Easy Peasy. I would recommend site 5 over 6 as it seemed to have more privacy. The only thing that bothered us was the number of lookie lous that drove thru camping area - wish it had private access.

Beautifully quiet off grid camp spot near a sometimes low occupancy beach that is just a hidden gem! We camped here with our 25 ft camper and had plenty of room for both camper and truck in spot 4. Spots 4 and 5 are really the only type to work with an RV. Good sun to replenish solar but shade in later afternoon. Trash disposal and porta potties available, and water via hand pump. (Not sure of quality, we did not use). As others have mentioned, there is a private little area at the end of the road with a path to the beach. It’s perfect for a sunset, but we would recommend swimming at the Cross Village beach, as it is very rocky/has large boulders just under the water line. If you are a self sufficient camper, and respect the land, this is an amazing place to stay. We will definitely be back. Felt safe.

Of the three water sites this one is on the little swamp section (bring your bug spray). Plenty of room for tents and hammocks. Frogs and birds and waves to put you to sleep. Wood is provided on the other loop for pickup. Loved it!

We had a lovely trip, sturgeon bay state park is a just a few miles away and well worth a visit. The sunsets were gorgeous and the campsite was comfortable. It was not super private or quiet as sites are close to one another and there isn’t a lot of tree coverage but great value for money and incredible location for exploring.

Great spot in Cross village! Great options to see the sunset! The outhouse was clean and in good shape! The sites were as advertised with a picnic table and a fire ring. The boardwalk to the lake was nice. I also walked to the beach via the road - this leads to the Cross village beach. You will hear some road noise from folks going to the beach during the day but I didn't hear a peep overnight. It was nice to have the store/ gas station nearby and also the legs inn if you want to go to a restaurant ! I'll be coming back to this one!
