Really cool spot! Host said we could take any site since we were the only ones there! It was too dark to find the beach site but after walking over to it, it was beautiful. Highly recommend if you need to stay in the area!

I loved the view! Granted it was very windy the day I stayed there so that’s something to consider since your by lake. Very easy to get to the site and overall pretty clean. Had some clutter here and there but not a big deal. My only major critique is one, maybe put stone down on the path to the beach because it had really deep ruts and it was very muddy. I got my car stuck quite a few times. The other is the shower water did not really get warm. Again, not the end of the world but addressing those few things would make the site even better than it already is. Overall I’d give it an 8/10

Wow. Just wow. Probably the best campsite i have been too. Clean. Beautiful view. Really awesome host. And not too far of a drive from town. My only regret booking this site is that we didn't get to stay longer.

Solid site - the basics and a view
Quick and easy campsite. Nothing fancy, but a really nice view by the water and all the essentials. Andrew was extremely communicative and accommodating (we changed to the other beach view site last minute). The only downside to the site was the bugs. It was fairly windy the first night so it was no issue, but the second night they were relentless - bring bug spray or some type of netting. No issues during the day time though. Good location, close to some hiking locations and parks. Easy to get to.

While the site we were giving was private, the ground was too soft for even the small camper we were in. We got stuck in the morning when we tried to leave.
The power at the site was an unterminated wire, no outlet, just a wire hanging in the tree.

He upgraded us to the nicer campground on our way up, very nice easy to get to campsite
He even has a video tour so we found what we needed right away.
He also has a bathhouse!

This spot was absolutely beautiful! I was really sad it just so happened to storm while I was there waking up there is so peaceful and pretty. Shower house was nice

Amazing beech front site on shore of Lake michigan. Great staff. I keep coming back for this site. Can get buggy/windy, it's the outdoors.

Great little spot right on the beech. No varments like raccoons, definitely no signs of bears, can get buggy or windy at times but thats the outdoors. Portajohns are a nice addition to the sites on that side of the road. Can't wait to get back. Friendly staff.

Unfortunately we were rained out of our camping weekend. Not the campground's fault there. However, there's a bunch of little stumps all over at the Trails End site. It's difficult to find a spot to place a decent size tent and then what's left over, we tripped on quite a bit. This would be a nice spot if the stumps were removed. Also a better trail to get to the site especially since you can't get your car right at the site, there's a little bit of walking to get there. But thank you for the time we did get to spend there, even if we had to leave early due to rain.

I liked it, easy, convenient, available last minute. Wouldn't stay more than a night cuz the bathroom and shower setup is a bit sketchy. Otherwise was great for my single night camping trip.

We appreciated that there was a working toilet and shower available. We didn’t find the potable water but luckily there is a store 10mins away. The beach area was gross, lots of poop and swampy. There were SO many bugs, we couldn’t be outside without being attacked. Was a 10 min drive from a nice beach. 10 mins into downtown St Ignace. Good location, alright pricing for what you get.

The Lot - Beach Camping
Tent camping on the private lake, was just what we've been looking for. The views were beautiful, waking up to the calm waves and nature around us was so peaceful. Having my dog unleashed was wonderful not to have to worry about anything. The video Drew sent before we came, was so helpful! I would've never found it without it. Drew met up with us when we first got there just to make sure we didnt need anything but otherwise did not come back but was easily reachable if we needed him or had questions. There was a fire ring, a grill, a picnic table that we could use at our campsite. The beach was not too rocky, all sand in most of the places as long as you walked specific pathways and it is shallow so far out but deeper in sections that really helped with our younger kids and dog. We sat in the water almost all day on one of the days just relaxing. Couldn't have asked for a better getaway.

I would not recommend this site or visit again unfortunately. Site was a lot closer to road than I thought, there was road noise all night long. Camp sites are close together and smaller than I thought too. The bathroom is usable, but the water smells very sulfury. Primitive at best. There are people living on site which made it feel even less private. Mosquitos were horrendous but understandable, it's by water in the up.

I want people to know what they are getting themselves into when they think about staying here. This campsite isn’t for everyone. First off, when we arrived, we found bear tracks scattered throughout our campsite. We chose the beach campsite #2. There were a lot of bugs and the portable toilets were in poor condition. However, the bear tracks in the campsite were the main reason we decided not to stay. I tried reaching out to the host, but did not receive a response even after 4 days. Unless you don’t mind a lot of bugs, dirty toilets, a unresponsive host, and bears waltzing through your campsite, I would suggest not staying here.

We took our two young dogs camping for their very first time here. Initially, we were a bit worried that the other beach site would be too close for their comfort. Alas, the sound of Lake Michigan waves provided the perfect, soothing noise cancelation necessary for all to have a great time and peaceful sleep. Bonus: Andy has plenty of firewood available. It's dry and as affordable as any you'll find in the area!

My family & I enjoyed camping at the beach site #2. We stayed 4 nights and had a lot of privacy..no other guests except for our last night but even then it was just enough distance to feel pretty private. The owner sends a YouTube video explaining the layout, property & directions and that helped a great deal. There are houses surrounding the lake but everyone kind of kept to themselves. We didn’t have any issues with black flies although that might have been the time we were there. There were two portapotties near the three sites and they were maintained fine. There was an electric pole that allowed you to charge a phone or use an extension cord which we used for a blow up mattress. There are a lot of geese which meant goose poop but its nature so..what do you expect lol
There’s a quick drive across US-2 directly across the driveway where the bathroom/shower is. This was handy with two young kids and brushing our teeth..and a shower. It is connected to units of people that I’m assuming live there but it’s no big deal..I appreciated the amenities. There was firewood at the main area for purchase by self serve which we used a few times. At each site was a picnic table and fire ring. There was also a large trash can by the portapotties which is helpful as well. My kids rate the site 10/10! The area is beautiful and I’d love to come back. There’s lots to do downtown in St. Ignace and anything you need can be bought downtown just a few minutes away.

Con: The site wasn’t really level anywhere and was basically open to the site next to it.
Pro: Having a shower and a portable toilet were nice extras.
Fyi: Mosquitoes are crazy in this area, be warned.

Holy Mosquito Town. To give the host the benefit of the doubt, it had just rained before we arrived. We planned to spend most of our time off site, but cooking would have been a pain.
Pros: it’s near St. Ignace making it easy to catch the ferry to Mackinac, which is why we were there. The site is pretty cute and tucked back a short path from the parking area.
Cons: It’s a few hundred yards from the main thoroughfare, cars pretty steadily going 65 mph and you hear/feel them. The place needs a bit of love, feels real ‘in-progress’. Unclear where to get potable water except for the bathroom sink which had a bit of a funk.
Bottom line, go when it’s dry or get eaten alive.

We loved The Lot! It was just as expected. It's primitive so expect that. The water was beautiful and so were the stars at night. It did rain once while we were there and it got a little muddy where you drive in but he is trying to remedy that as it's preserved and he can't change too much to the land. Some things can't be helped, like mosquitoes, so bring long sleeves and bug spray. We would definitely stay again just for the fun of the sea gulls. The porta-john was clean and stocked. I didn't not check out the showers so I can't leave an opinion. Thanks Andy for a great time!

It was a nice site, the misquotes were unbearably bad though, since it’s that season and rainy. Very disappointed we couldn’t enjoy the campsite.

This was a great find! Large site right on the beach with a nice picnic table and fire pit. There are only two sites with the adjacent properties a good distance away, so it was peaceful as well. The water is clear and shallow enough for walking and playing with my pup Rosie. The YouTube video was very helpful in explaining just where to go. We had a blast and will definitely be back!

James was a kind and friendly host. You could pull up to the site close. The land was mowed, and the pond and woods were pretty. Lots of birds in the morning and deer.
There was outhouse near the site, but there is a nice and newer indoor shower / toilet / full kitchen facility to be shared between campers and the geodome renters. (Geodome renters could switch to the bedroom if bad weather and have their own bathroom.) Charge up your devices and get water. Clean and safe.
James brought a fire ring, wood and even started the fire for us. We asked him about his canoe and kayaks. He offered to put us in the Au Sable River the next morning, but we asked him to come along and had a nice time chatting.
We recommend you make the stop and would return. Thanks, James!

This was such a neat place. The site was pretty nice! My kids and I really enjoyed it here! I like how you're not parked very far! I will definitely be back! The people running it were really sweet!

The Lot - Beach Camping
Beautiful on-beach site, was level with sandy beach for wading and swimming. We were lucky enough to watch a bald eagle. The sound of the waves covered the road noise from Rt 2 save for the occasional motorcycle and semi. We were grateful that the site next to us was not booked. They are in quite close proximity without much buffer or barrier between.
