Heritage Hills isn't called Heritage Hills for nothing! It's situated on 21 acres of what was the original Wawonowin Country Club, a 9-hole golf course that was built in the early 1800s and then closed in the mid 1960s. And now we have a beautiful mix of hardwoods and pines, forests and fields with multiplied non-motorized trails accessible right off the property. The very popular RAMBA bike trails are literally an ‘stones throw’ away! Our biggest site, Fairway Field is big enough for group camping that horse campers love, and one site, the Homestead, with an electric hookup. We don’t have a dump station or trash cans so please pack in and pack out. Phone signal is good throughout the area and we are close to civilization for necessities and only 20 minutes from Marquette. So much stuff to do in this area!

Hole 1 Fairway

A Superior Experience!

Nestled not far from the shores of Lake Superior is an incredible hideaway. Joni and Phil were more than accomidating and went the extra mile to make sure our stay great. Directions were clear, easy to find. Close to food places but off the beaten path. The horses were very cool. Many paths to hike on the property and nearby. The site was very large and even though we had a storm go through the first night our tent survived and the site was well protected by trees. We used it as a base to explore the local geology and enjoyed how quiet it was. The port a potties were clean and well stocked with TP. Cell service was good.(A cell tower is next to the property!) Although there were other campers, you could not hear them. We would highly recommend this as a stop. Already planning our next stay there. Beautiful area, awesome hosts, what else can we say. No complaints.

The Greens

Top of the list HipCamp spots. The Greens space was spacious, quiet, and perfect. Overall, Heritage Hills hosts were responsive, offer great sites, 2 well-kept port-o-johns, and great trail access. We came back a few days later and appreciated the Fairway 1 site and the Field the next day. We don’t plan ahead well and it was great to have these options.

Fairway Field

This was our fourth time staying on Joni & Phil's land. Each time has been great. We perfer the Fairway Field because it offers the most space. We can play fetch with our dogs. It also provides access to many biking/hiking trails. The site offers security and privacy. We love it there.

10/10 Camping Spot

Great spacious campsite in the woods. Owners are very friendly. I have stayed here 3 times now and I would recommend Heritage Hills to anyone! I look forward to coming back in the future

The Homestead, close to the barn

Great experience. The site was separate from the others. It was nice having a porta-potty and water close-by. They no longer offer firewood so be sure to bring your own.
