Camping with the dragon!

I had a quiet and peaceful stay at Dragon, Adventure Base Camp. Mark was an excellent host. I had an opportunity to slay the dragon and bike the complete distance around Hardy pond during my stay. I would highly recommend this hip camp. I will be back.

This was to be my first (maiden voyage) trip with my new small travel trailer. It was my first time towing and I needed to be sure that I would be able to set up ok for the first time.
I sent them a message (Mark) with a question a few days in advance of my trip. It may be just the Hipcamp app but repose was so slow that I didn’t have any faith in the host so I went to a State Park instead. I cancelled via the HipCamp app which is very slow in reponse). They still pocketed my payment at a very quiet time of year. Lesson learned for me about HipCamp and its hosts.

An absolute mountain bikers oasis! The accommodations were great, amazing people, met new friends and the beer garden is perfect for encouraging community with other like minded enthusiasts!

Loved camping and riding the Dragon from here. Excellent hosts. The campground was clean, well maintained, and the outdoor shower was excellent. Definitely recommend and will be coming back!

I had an awesome birthday, solo camping experience at Dragon Adventure Basecamp! I had the rustic camp site area all to myself, so that was an added bonus! Exceptionally clean porta-john was less than a minute's walk from my site. After taking the wrong out and back mtb trip on the trail (was going for the easier scenic route...), the hot outdoor shower was just what this (just a bit, out of shape) guy needed. I'm already trying to plan a longer stay before winter, and if not, definitely next year. Highly recommended!

We loved our time at the Dragon Adventures Base Camp. Our kids loved playing the beer garden area and challenging themselves on the skills course, the nice grass made a great base for our tents, and the bike repair room was super helpful in taking care of some final tweaks that we ran out of time for before leaving home. The firewood was plentiful and dry, and I really appreciated the kindling cracker at the wood piles.

Wonderful place to stay, whether you are here for mountain biking, water adventures or just looking for a place to rest and relax. Mark and his wife, Amy, were wonderful hosts. We stayed in one of the 4 non-electric camping spots which easily accommodated our 22’ Sprinter Campervan. Our site had a fire ring and picnic table and was a short walk to the beautiful communal fire pit area and fantastic outdoor shower. Everything was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend a stay at Dragon Adventures Base Camp.

Dragon Adventures Base Camp is truly a gem for any outdoor enthusiast looking for a memorable experience in Michigan. The location is absolutely perfect—situated right next to the legendary Dragon Trail, it's a dream come true for mountain bikers and hikers. You can literally roll out of your tent or cabin and be on the trail in minutes.
The facilities are fantastic and show a real thoughtful approach to camping. The outdoor showers with hot water are a massive plus after a day of adventuring, and the "beer garden" area is a great communal space to relax, play yard games, and connect with other campers around a fire pit.

I stayed on a rustic site, which had a nice new fire ring and picnic table. Grounds were well taken take of, and had a clean port-a-john nearby. Love the outdoor shower!

This campsite was awesome! The shower was super cool (literally the best camp shower I’ve ever had), and the portapotty? Hands down the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The whole place was quiet and peaceful, perfect for just kicking back and relaxing.
The owners are so friendly and welcoming, you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Plus, there’s a ton to do nearby bike trails, hiking trails, and lakes if you’re into exploring.
If you’re looking for a chill weekend getaway, this spot is definitely the place to be! 🙌

Really nice area to camp with very good amenities. Short walk to hot shower and quaint public areas. Rustic side of campground is very nice but not too far from main area. Access to the dragon trail is very easy. Excellent stay!

Just spent three nights in the rustic area, in my camper van. The outdoor shower is fabulous, and the numerous well-positioned porta johns are sparkling clean. We were a group of three, and the rustic sites were perfect for us: enough space for all, picnic tables, fire rings, a head...we had a blast. There's access to the Dragon trail a very short distance from the camp; if you haven't ridden it (or hiked it), get to it, it's awesome! This place is already amazing, and the Deerings are just getting started!

We had an amazing experience at Dragon Adventures basecamp! The primitive camping was exactly what I was looking for—peaceful, rustic, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We hung hammocks in the trees and enjoyed a peaceful night sleep. The outdoor shower was such a unique and refreshing touch after a day of riding, and plenty of hot water! Best of all, the owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Their hospitality truly made the stay memorable. I can’t wait to come back!

I had a great time camping here the location is really pretty and we loved the peacefulness the woods and sky view offered. I called the staff at one point to ask some questions about the location and found them very friendly and helpful!

Quiet spot with lots of space for tent and to roam in the woods while at camp. Owner was helpful and nice. Clean shower and toilet! Loved the easy access to the Dragon Trail.

Mark has put together a wonderful campground! I stayed in the tent site, which is a short walk down the driveway to get to the beer garden, shower, campers, and cabins. They're are 3 clean porta-potties strategically placed around the grounds so there's always a bathroom nearby. The tent sites are spacious with their own fire rings and picnic tables at each site. You can park by your tent. The outdoor kitchen is equipped with a Blackstone-like grill. They even provide oil and water should you choose to use it. There was nobody else in the campground during our stay, but it felt very safe and welcoming. The hiking/biking trails are nice and hilly. He's done a great job making the camp beautiful. It would be awesome for groups -even if some are in campers and some are in tents. Both have a short walk to get to the beer garden fire pits, which is a great gathering place. It was lovely. Will recommend! I'll be back someday when I come back to Michigan. I live in north carolina.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and our only concern is that it will be hard to beat. It was a beautiful, quiet spot and the hosts were very kind and gracious. We had a great time and will be back!

Super cool area. Very well kept. Would definitely visit again. The common area AKA beer garden is a great place to meet your fellow campers. Don't be confused though, no beer is actually served there, it's BYOB.

Great tent, primitive, camp stay. I really appreciated the hot shower. Beautiful common areas for fires. There was also a fire ring at our tent spot, but we didn't use it. There are some dead trees. Just watch where you set up.
