Located in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the small town of Engadine. You will be just a few miles from Lake Michigan and camp beside the tranquil waters of doe creek. There is wildlife traveling through the property and at times make this their home. This is a birding paradise again for those birds migrating through and others making nests and raising their babies. We are a hobby farm, we hay in July, garden during the summer and at times have a variety of farm animals. There is recreation galore including swimming, fishing, boating, skiing, hiking, and biking to name a few very familiar activities to this area.

Serenly located along the quiet waters of Doe Creek, a flat grassy campsite. A nature trail runs directly from the site to a meadow and woodlands. Another group may be visible within 600 feet. There is a communal compost toilet within 500 feet. Located on farmland in the small town of Engadine, Michigan.

Tiny house is 100 square foot of cozy and attractive living space. There is a full size bed with twin bunk and kitchenette with potable water. Stepping outside the house is over 1/2 mile of nature trail that follows along Doe Creek and opens up to a beautiful meadow. Located behind the house is a sun shower and in front of the house by the creek is a hammock to rock in, underneath the shade of trees to keep you cool from the heat of the day.

Vintage camper located on a flat grassy space 20 feet from Doe Creek nestled quietly in the shade of trees and meadow grasses. Perfect for relaxing and walking the nature trail. There are two other sites up river and a few other campers you may meet and greet along the trail. Those campsites are not visible from the camper. There is a full size and single size bed. The single size bed doubles as seating for the dining table that collapses as needed for an extra bed. There is a small kitchenette with stove top and shelf. The interior colors are groovy and vibrant for a particular era gone by, call it what you want. We call it home sometimes when we camp out for the night. Peaceful, private and tranquil.

The perfect camp.

Doe Creek Hideaway
This was our second time back to stay in the tiny cabin. We loved our first trip. We drive downstate often to visit family. Perfect place to stop and enjoy nature with your dog and family. There's some trails to walk around with beautiful fall colors. We will be back. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

The primitive site was excellent! Very clean and well maintained with easy access. We had a small issue with the tent on site and it was resolved immediately. Very nice and responsive hosts, we’ll be staying again!

This was such a lovely experience! The vintage camper was so cute and the area around was perfect and secluded. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, I couldn’t recommend enough! The hosts were so kind and generous, I feel so lucky to have found this spot and will certainly be returning

Great stay! Monte and Lisa greeted me when I arrived and gave me a lay of the land. They also had recommendations for local eateries. Camper was perfect for me and I loved the extra touch of the s’mores kit and firewood. Highly recommend!

Monte and Lisa are amazing hosts! Their primitive campsite was secluded and private. It had a nice soft grassy place to put up my tent and a table, bench and canopy with a fire pit. Lucy was an excellent greeter also:)

A cozy retreat

Just wonderful! Great couple and dog who were very friendly and helpful the entire time, but gave plenty of privacy. Every detail was well thought out, from the sun showers to the s'mores kit. Would definitely recommend, and won't hesitate to come back again.

Monte and Lisa's place was a wonderful experience. The camper was quaint and provided just what we needed. The outdoor shower was an experience everyone should have. At the end of the day, we sat by the fire and painted rocks with the supplies they had. Such a thoughtful touch!

Had a great time staying here. The nature was beautiful and the owners made the area very comfortable and scenic. Gave local recommendations and had an adorable dog. Not a far drive from pictured rocks or any tourist spot. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the tiny home and Monte and Lisa thought of everything! We really enjoyed our time here. Very private and clean space! Loved seeing the horses and exploring the beautiful wild flower trails! You can’t go wrong staying here!

This off-grid cabin is beautifully tucked away in a peaceful little forest spot, and the hosts have truly thought of everything—it’s cozy, well-appointed, and the outdoor shower setup was a standout feature. You can tell care went into making the space feel welcoming and functional.

Cute cabin, poured buckets one morning and was a very cosy place to wait out the storm. Monte and Lisa were very helpful and had some great tips about places to visit in the area. Would stay again if I ever find myself back up that way in the future. (Also, if you want to see some beautiful carving/painting, ask Monte about the ice fishing lures he makes)

I loved the super cute and clean tiny cabin at Lisa and Monte's place in Engadine, Michigan. I went with my daughter and her 15 1/2 year old dog. We planned on checking in the night before and they waited up for us but we were not able to get there until thr next day due to Hurricaine in Florida causing heavy rain all the way there from Tennessee. Monte and Lisa were waiting on us when we pull into the property. They have sweet labradoodle named Lucy who was immediate friends with our old dog! The beds were comfortable, there was heat, and even an outdoor tub with sun water if you dared! It would probably be fine for me in the summer. There's an outhouse and it's clean!! The outside of the outhouse is painted bright blue and red. Its cut too! They have a book collection nearby in a coverd glass display so you can chose a book to read in the woods! Theres also a place for primative camping. I enjoyed spending time with my daughter. It was our first vacation just the two of us. I will cherish that time and hope to return soon. Kind, thoughtful and obliging hosts. I opted for the s’mores package and wood for $5. The s’mores package was fresh and there was an abundant amount of dry wood waiting for us by the fire pit. A very serene, lovely space.

Nice place to stay! They mentored making changes for the property and they were already ongoing to improve it by eliminating dome of the short hike to the campsite. Hike to the site isn't bad at all the outhouse was even nicer than expected. Peaceful and nice views on the property in my opinion. Will check it out next year!

The tiny home is super cozy with so much attention to detail. The property is stunning with a creek flowing through and beautiful wildflowers. Monte and Lisa are wonderful hosts. We had a great time talking with them, playing fetch with Lucy and even got to give their horses some carrots. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Monte and Lisa are wonderful hosts and the tiny house is such a cozy spot to stay. The property is stunning, and it was the perfect beginning and ending to our backpacking trip in Pictured Rocks. We were enamored with the cabin and all the quaint details (true craftsmanship!). We will probably stay again on our next trip to the UP!

We absolutely loved our stay in the tiny house! Did everything we needed and was very quiet and peaceful. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor shower after our long week of hiking. We enjoyed cooking on the fire pit and eating on the log table and chairs. Our hosts were extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful and idyllic spot. It feels highly secluded even though it’s close to a main road. We recommend having a foldable wagon or something you can carry your gear in, because it is a short walk from the car parking to the cabin. Loved the little touches around, including the lending library and hammock! The mowed grassy hiking loop was perfect for our dogs and was ablaze with stunning native wildflowers. Monte and Lisa were really kind and welcoming. We highly recommend staying here — we will be back.

Very comfortable and cute sleeping shed. My family and dog enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and a pleasant surprise that this cabin had everything we needed for a worry free weekend. We came to the area to explore the waterfalls of Upper Michigan. And we were able to still have relaxing nights with all the amenities Monte and Lisa had to offer. Would love to enjoy this space again.
