Late Summer Stay
We had a great stay Under the Willow. The site is spacious and flat and it wasn’t too buggy. It was so nice having access to the bathroom and shower!

Under the weeping willow tree
Beneath the willow campsite was a very nice experience. The willow tree is beautiful! The site is very close to Sleeping Bear, and many lakes and trails and beaches. The town of Cedar is conveniently close. The site feels very private, with plenty of space. It was nice to have access to the house for the bathroom and shower. It was kept neat and clean. There is a road nearby, but only seemed busy during the day. I would definitely camp there again. It was a good value for the convenience.

Great location and beautiful sunset
Camping on Jon's land was great. Wasn't too far from Traverse City, but it was also close to what I wanted to see in the Leelanau Peninsula. The sunset I witnessed was amazingly beautiful and the surrounding landscape really added to the overall vibe. I had never been to Leelanau before and I'm in love! I definitely want to return.

Nice quiet place off the beaten track. Central location for many sights, trails, beaches, etc, in the area. Easy access, no fuss.

Jon's yard is gorgeous and the tree is amazing. He was super thoughtful and generous. I would stay again in a heartbeat! Perfect alternative to nearby campgrounds.

The setting was amazing camping beneath a beautiful willow tree! Amenities as described, access to a bathroom & kitchen sink were greatly appreciated after along hit humid day riding bikes!
Buntings Market in nearby cedar is the best local market with everything you need & more (there subs are the BOM) & the staff is super friendly! The camp site is located a short drive from Glen Arbor, sleeping Bear Dunes & Leelanau! The perfect campsite if you are looking for a quite place to get away!

Camping with bonus bathroom
A great private camping spot close to all the goodness of Sleeping Bear, Traverse City and wine country. The best part about this site was having a flush toilet, bathroom and shower. The owner let’s you access the top floor for these amenities via the back deck close to the fire ring. We were early in the season so a hot shower was much appreciated in the morning or after a lot of beach time. The owner does not occupy the residence but his tenant downstairs is very kind and considerate. He has 3 goats and some cats which for our 4 year old was paradise. The goats will leave you alone in the site and they only go out early and late in the day. The owner sticker is with plenty of seasoned firewood that kept the s’mores rolling and the spirits high. We met the owner on the last day, my kinda guy! Good person, extremely accommodating and a gentleman. We loved our time here and enjoyed the local area for all it was worth. Cedar is a couple miles away, has a small hit amazing grocery store/gas station, great coffee and what you need.

Camping under the huge willow tree was beautiful and practical as it provided nice shade and rain coverage. This camping spot had everything we needed - a perfect spot to hang our hammock, a nice fire pit with seats, a picnic table for cooking and eating, and access to a bathroom. We loved our time at Jon's camping spot!

Cats, goats and rabbits, oh my!
It is exactly what it says…beneath a big willow tree. Quiet, except for the early morning roosters next door. A very relaxing place to sleep.

Nice property/great location!
My fiancée and I had a great time at this property! It’s a quaint little property with a nice fire ring with stone benches, a beautiful willow, and easy access to a shower and running water. Jon does an excellent job making sure patrons feel like they are looked after. We got pretty battered with rain on our trip so he dropped off some new wood under the barn so we would have dry wood for our fires. 10/10 would recommend!

Comfy, accomodating, quiet
Great place that is nicely located near everything you want to see. Private camp area and the access to a full bathroom is key. Host Jon is very nice and accommodating. Dont expect a 5 diamond place, but if you like camping away from all the hustle and bustle in the campgrounds then this is your place.

Beautiful night sky!
Jon’s place worked out great for us! (First house on the right when you turn on the road, the phone took us down to the neighbors) Jon was a friendly guy and came shortly upon arrival. We also met his tenant who was also a nice gentleman. Cedar is the perfect town to stay in because it is central to EVERYTHING! Peaceful, quiet, and the night sky was AMAZING!! We would definitely stay here again!

Beneath The Willow
My friend and I stayed here while visiting the sand dunes. It’s a beautiful and peaceful spot away from the busy campgrounds in the national park. It was easy to find and close to Sleeping Bear & Traverse City.
Jonathan was kind, very responsive & had plenty of dry firewood for our evening fire. Highly recommend!
