I had a wonderful time here. The location is full of lush greenery with a mountain view and the campsite is tucked away far enough from the main site to feel very private and close enough to the barn and bathroom to feel safe and secure. The train was quite active during our stay, and the sound is all encompassing among the mountains, but it's a very loud, hypnotic, tranquil and different sound and I found it quite beautiful, and a moment to just pause and admire the sound and scenery. My son was a little bummed there were no animals and not too much to explore...but I found this place to calming and serene and it had wonderful sunrises.

A beautiful place to wake up to! We arrived at night and were greeted by Fledge who barked but was super sweet. It’s a flat field, parking was simple in the dark. The train wasn’t overwhelmingly loud but I used earplugs anyway because I’m a light sleeper. We would have stayed longer if we had the time.

Natural nature all around. Birds, bugs (which my Grands enjoyed searching and collecting for),the visual of the mountains early in the morning with Smokey like clouds adding to the landscape. I personally adored the sound of the rooster in the far distance.Apple , peaches, and pears available for picking. Birds chirping and gliding in the sky was awesome to watch along side of hearing the the train squeaking as it trails along wasn’t a sore to my ears at all. Plenty room for My Grand boys to be boys. I definitely would visit again! Let me add the barns have a history and a present story to tell. (This I fantasized in my mind but the real story the owner knows 😊😊)

Great spot, beautiful views, just enough privacy from other campers. The bathroom wasn’t so clean but we managed!
I loved spending a starry evening at the far Western end of the property! I was able to get my car nice and flat for sleeping, and enjoyed the fire pit and table (no seats, but I had my own). There were other campers on the property and I had no contact with them at all, however if I had needed to use the facilities I would have needed to pass through another campsite. This property is a great escape whenever I want to get away, and I know I will be back! And I would say that a total of about five or six trains came through in the 12 hours that I was there.
Turtle Bend is a beautiful property that has much potential. Other reviews mentioned no animals but I as not looking for any. Almost did not stay when I saw the water jug in the horse stall with the composting toilet. The drinking water needs to separate from the toilet. The number one source of illness when camping is contamination. Read the other comments that are available.

Wanted to do a little overnight camp out where we could watch the meteor shower, and this place was great for that (although it turned out to be cloudy, whomp).
Yes there is a train that went by in the middle of the night and lasted a few minutes, but we were already awake for it hoping for a break in the clouds.
Our site also didn't have a level place so our tent was on a bit of a slope, but probably not noticeable in an rv.
It was great for what we needed it for, and would go there again for similar activities.

This was such a beautiful stay with a lovely property and easy to find location. I felt safe and the sunrise and sunset were beautiful. The train came through a few times but it made itself a cool part of the experience at Turtle Bend Farm.

We absolutely loved truck camping on this property! The views were incredible, and the area has so much to do and explore. It was the perfect spot to relax while still being close to plenty of activities. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping getaway!

I really enjoyed my stay and the bathroom was a plus.
Train comes by every 45 mins all night. Campsites are not marked.
“Firewood” I purchased was painted / treated lumber, which I couldn’t cook with.

Overall this is a beautiful and private location for tent camping or rv. I will note that the listing highlights donkeys and sheep but there are no farm animals on the farm, at least not now so if you’re booking to see animals that should be noted. The bathroom was clean and there was available firewood.
One note, we had a bit of a saftey concern with other guests that with weather and that situation ultimately had us stay in a hotel the second night. The hosts did address the situation but it did create a bit of an unsafe isolated feeling. Defiantly not the hosts fault but something to note if you’re used to state parks with on site staff.

Stayed at this amazing location with my son at site 1. Very private spot on the property. The property has amazing views of the mountain and has a large clear sky view for star gazing. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
