Listen to the gentle brook and barred owls while nestled into the woods of Ashfield, MA on a small herbal homestead. The Kuti is a meditation hut which is perfect for sleeping in on a warm summer's night. It has large windows and screens to keep out the bugs while enjoying a cool mountain breeze. There is a newly built composting toilet on site and well water accessible. Visit the animals where our farm store is filled with herbal teas, tinctures, duck and chicken eggs, screen printed shirts, maple syrup and ghee. Hiking trails are on site, bike to town for a breakfast at Elmer's, take a swim in the lake 1 mile away or visit the enchanting Chapel Falls on Trustees land just down the road. Sweet Birch Herbals is a community herbal company offering workshops, apprenticeships, wellness consultations and hand crafted products including Full Moon Ghee. We grow organic herbs and ethically forage plants for medicine. Request a farm tour, herbalism class or any of our products for your stay here. Booking Rules and Information: - Check in: 3pm - Check out: 11am - There is only a thin mat inside so if you like cushion under you, bring your own sleeping pads. Bedding is not provided: bring your own pillows, sleeping bags, blankets etc to be warm and comfy. - Bring all your own camping needs such as cook stoves, camp chairs, food, soap etc. - Ideal for a couple or close friends as the space is small about 8x10' dimensions. - 3 gallons of drinking water provided - No electricity or Wifi or cell service at the hut - For cell service the nearest spot is on route 112 near the school - Wood is provided and if you need more it's under the house deck. - Always put out fires completely with the blue containers of water when going to sleep or leaving the site. Never leave fires unattended! - The brook is too shallow for swimming so if you'd like to swim we recommend Ashfield Lake, Chapel Falls or DAR in Goshen. - Quiet hours 9pm-8am - No parties or loud music - Pets are family, and they are welcome as long as they house trained and well behaved. Please do not allow them on the bed. We don't have a fenced in yard so if they are aggressive or do not know recall, please keep them leashed. We have bears, skunks, fox, coyote, woodchucks, livestock and we would not want them to be in danger at any point. No more than 2 dogs are allowed at a time. I have one very friendly dog, Tilly. She will be with me while I am working on site Monday, Thursday, Sunday. - Feel free to visit with the goats and horse in the barn but do not enter their stalls or feed them. - Check out: take all trash with you, put out fire, message Hannah when you leave and please review the hut. We value your feedback! -Please do not enter the private residence, it is occupied by Airbnb guests. - Hannah lives about 35 minutes away, if you need anything, message or call her.Listen to the gentle brook and barred owls while nestled into the woods of Ashfield, MA on a small herbal homestead. Forest Hut at Sweet Birch Herbals
My boyfriend and I had a magical time with our dog at this forest nestled hut right by the lush herbal medicine gardens. We enjoyed cooking over the fire for every meal and were so grateful to have coverage with all of the rain! Hannah was a fantastic host. 10/10 will go again <3

Meditative hut, bear friend?
Loved camping at the meditation hut. Beautiful property with lots of butterflies and wildlife. The hut felt nicely secluded in the woods but with a view of the house through the woods a bit. The outhouse was pristine. Campsite has a nice fireplace and a picnic table. Brought our own lanterns and string lights for ambiance and lighting. Also brought lots of blankets and yoga mats to layer as a cozy bed. The hut was very cute and it felt like sleeping out in the open in the woods. At about 2 AM we were visited by a bear, who walked around the site for about an hour and opened our small cooler to eat our brownies. We had the cooler away from the hut and made sure to leave any food we brought in that cooler. He didn’t seem interested in us or the hut at all! We were scared in the moment but honestly wildlife comes with camping. Would recommend this site to friends and recommend securing any food brought and staying bear safe!

Forest Hut at Sweet Birch Herbals
The hut is lovely, the firewood and water available for the fire pit are incredibly convenient, and the outhouse is so clean! Plus, we had a great time browsing the store and waving to the mini horses. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return.

Cozy shelter, perfect for brisk fall weather. Nicest outhouse I've ever used!

Forest Hut at Sweet Birch Herbals
We loved Hannah’s hut! Even though it was a drizzly night we had a great time in the cosy hut and slept very well in the fresh air coming through it. The privy is very clean and comfortable too. Picked up some gifts from the farmshop on the way out. All in all a great stay!
