Early September Update: The river is at its 100% peak best summer quality. Still quite warm and PERFECT for lounging, floating, kayaking and snorkeling (20 ft visibility or better). A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others. Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended. We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans 4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events. Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Cash venmo paypal zelle all accepted upon arrival. If ordering firewood using the "extra" feature, 1 load is $20.00 which is a 1/2 nights supply. Order 2 if you want a full night/morning supply. I will credit unused wood with a nominal restocking fee.

If looking for total privacy, and all the space one needs for 4 or 40 campers, this is it. Open fires under the stars and rising moon are always a highlight. Porta Potty on site. Hilltop Two
My husband and I loved this site. It was pretty private, had plenty of room for our rather larger tent and gear, and the view was gorgeous. Gregg was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed at the site. We were only a short walk from the C&O Canal trail and we enjoyed walking the trail. We also found a cool cave off the trail that was pretty neat! Couldn’t have asked for a better trip!

We stayed at site 5. It was a great first experience with our 3 kids (age: 6,4,2). Site 5 has a little cut though path to the trail and the river, but there is also very easy access on either side of the end sites (1 and/or 11). Greg and his daughter Elise were so sweet, responsive, and very kind hosts. Our kids had an amazing experience playing in the river, walking along the trail, and visiting the cave. What a wonderful property and we will definitely be back for another stay. Great for families and large groups.

Took my brother in law and my 22 month old son camping for the first time ever. This was my first Hipcamp experience and I must say that I loved it. Greg does an amazing job communicating and making sure his guests are comfortable and well accommodated. Being right off the C&O tow path is an added bonus and the little beaches are easily accessible and great for kids. I would highly recommend staying here and I will be returning in the near future.

The property is big and beautiful. Just a short walk through the woods to the C&O Canal, and another 100 feet to the Potomac. He has some wonderful dogs and cats that come visit from time to time. Everything we needed and hoped for was provided. We will definitely come again!

The Hilltop
We had such a wonderful visit to Taylor’s Landing. Greg and his daughters were exceptional hosts and made us feel very welcome and taken care of. The hilltop site was beautiful. We took my 10 year old son and his buddies camping for his bday party. We took the towpath to the explore the cave. Swam in the river. Played around in the fields and told ghost stories around the fire. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

i loved tent camping here! the host greg and his daughter elyse were very friendly, present, and accommodating. we camped nestled in by paw paw trees, spice bush, and golden rod. a short walk to the river for a morning dip. we were greeted by two sweet kitties. will definitely come back when i’m back this way :3

It's hard to find a campsite where you're not close to other campers. And although I wish we had a little more solitude, everything was as advertised, and the host was extremely responsive and helpful. Ultimately it all comes down to what you're looking for. If you want to be completely alone in the wilderness, this is not the place. But if you just want to camp, grill out, and have access to a beautiful spot on the Potomac, this checks all the boxes.

Greg and his daughters are one of the friendliest people I ever met. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and do their best to provide. We sadly we're expecting rain the last day and he and his daughter made sure to warn us to move our car up the hill as the rain would make it impossible for it to go up. The location was just as advertised and close to the path to c&o canal along w access to Potomac river. We also got to see the cave and a cool water pump along the way. The camp site is one huge open field. Which is nice as I felt safe but it was big and spaced out enough to have out own privacy.

This site was fantastic! Greg and his daughter and their sweet dogs and cats were so welcoming. The site was clean, beautiful, and quiet, and the picnic table, sunshade, and fire ring were wonderful. The swimming spot was awesome too. I will definitely be returning soon!

Lovely place! Close to the river and a beautiful trail. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the million stars lighting up the night sky, picking pawpaw fruit along the trail, paddle boarding, friendly cats visits, and many other little things that made our stay so special. The hosts were very attentive and welcoming. We would love to come back!

Greg was wonderful! Very friendly and took care of our trash and recycling without being overbearing in any way. The river was wonderful and very warm. The site itself was great and had Porta Potties that were clean. A 4WD car is highly recommended as the road to get to the site is steep and unpaved. Overall, a great experience and I recommend visiting!
