Where the Potomac River snakes out of the Western Maryland highlands near Little Orleans, MD lies the Ridge Rider Campground. We claim more than 220 acres of the country’s most beautiful, practically untouched woodlands, but it’s all yours – to explore, to fish, to commune with nature and your fellow travelers, whatever is your desire. Equally home to the rugged and the relaxed, Ridge Rider is pure camping in the best American tradition, whether you’re tent camping, driving your RV, or staying in a quaint cabin. Your family will treasure Ridge Rider. We have some unique features, like group tenting and air-conditioned and heated, cabins where some are pet-friendly. We’re also a favorite for whole-season guests. We’ve designed Ridge Rider to be a vacation in itself. At the central facility, you can enjoy the recreation room full of pool tables, pinball machines, and games. You’ll also find RV parts, hunting and fishing supplies, firewood, and ice at the Camp Store. We’re rich in outdoor recreation, with a sparkling clear swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and a terrific playground for kids with a log playhouse. Hot showers, a brand-new laundry, and a multi-use pavilion complete the necessities. No wonder so many campers stay all season.

Remote Tent Only Sites

These secluded tent only sites are distanced from the main park and are very remote. They are very tranquil, lush with greenery and some have the creek running beside them. All sites have a picnic table, fire ring and are just a short drive from the parks main office, camp store and bathhouse. These sites are for tents only. RV reservation requests need to select RV campsites.

Waterfront tent sites include a fire ring and a picnic table. Notice that our tent sites are located a short drive away from the main office and its amenities. There is a portable restroom located in the tenting area, but no hydrant access. Our scenic tent sites offer a wide variety of stunning views.

This spacious cabin has 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, sleeps 10 persons and sits on a wooded lot. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, bedroom 2 has 2 full size beds and bedroom 3 has 2 sets of bunk beds (Linen provided for all beds). There is a fully equipped kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and all basic cooking and eating utensils for 8 persons. The open living area has a dining section with table and 6 chairs, a large L shaped couch with 2 casual chairs and futon gives ample seating for the family. No tv is provided giving you the opportunity to spend time outdoors enjoying nature. The large outdoor deck comes with seating and fire ring for your enjoyment. This cabin also comes with heat, A/C and and complimentary wifi.

Perfect first campground!

I just loved this place. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I just bought a 23ft travel trailer and this was my first stop on a 3 week trip. Its November so the place only had a couple campers that weren't seasonal residents campers. I had my 4 dogs so the campground put me away from anyone else which was great. My site backed the woods so it was a beautiful view out back. The staff helped me back my new camper in, and the spot I got was very big. I love little orleans, and the surrounding areas. Bills place never dissapoints and is a 5 min drive from the campground. I will definitely be back

This is the perfect campground for a quiet getaway. The staff are friendly, the campground os clean. They have these nifty "camper cabins" which are just a marvel of ingenuity. They have cool activities and some really cool ducks that frequent the pond. Stayed 3 nights. Will definitely return.

Great campground clean had activities bingo, live music, swimming pool. Nice camp store had call to order pizza or wings. Perfect for a family with kids and dogs.
