Historic Spring House (Tent Site)
Although our stay with John and Gail was
brief, it was a very positive and memorable experience! As newbies to the camping scene, we felt this was a perfect spot for us! The spring house was very convenient for holding our cooler and other belongings (especially at nighttime when it started to rain). Our hosts were very accommodating and made us feel welcomed upon our arrival and during our stay with their active communication and hospitality. John helped us unload/load our car and even brought our belongings down to the spring house on his tractor, which was a HUGE help! Overall, we had a wonderful time at this campsite and recommend it to all campers!

Quiet and Comfort Camp 1 hr from DC
Our stay with Gail and John was just what we needed. The deck in front of the spring house was very sturdy and stayed nice and dry under our tent. The site is situated downhill from the main house allowing some privacy which is felt by how quiet the surrounding neighborhood is. Gail and John were clear and proactive communicators. They even met us when we arrived, (830pm) and towed our stuff in on a ride-on mower to the campsite. In the morning they shared with us some of the bounty from their abundant terraced gardens surrounding the property. Thank you both for your hospitality!

Nature Fun Galore
John and Gail have beautiful land with awesome trails in a great location. Not far from Baltimore, the historic spring house is a great homebase to explore off of. The area just has so many nature spots and even the site has trails that venture off into what feels like a fairy wonderland, complete with robust fungi and a swing at the fresh spring! The bamboo provided great shade in the afternoon and our hosts were there to help us with anything we needed, like lots of extra water! Overall, we had great sleep and the bird noises was probably my favorite part of it all...I'm still dreaming of their songs.

PERFECT TLC
this is for sure going to be my go-to campsite for the summer. I saw a fox, geese, ducks, many types of birds, frogs, chickens and more! I got in a great 9 mile hike through all the trails connected to their property. They have a beautiful fire ring and plenty of different spot to put your tent. It was peaceful, so quiet, and they gave me complete privacy! awesome camping experience and awesome hosts, can’t wait to come back and try the pool next time. thanks so much gail and john!

Wonderful site
This is a wonderful place to stay. John and Gail are great and extraordinarily helpful. I have stayed here before, and returned because I love it so much. It is close to anything you might need. There are lots of hiking trail both from here and nearby. It is very close to Loch Raven reservoir where there are tons of trails. I highly recommend this site.
Actually, there are 2 sites, each unique with their own benefits.

The camping area was spacious, flat, and soft, nestled away from the road. You can still hear the traffic a bit but it's not obtrusive and is somewhat drowned out by the sound of a nearby stream. They provided plenty of firewood and went above and beyond with other little things to make the stay more comfortable. Overall a beautiful environment and great people to stay with.

Delightful, well run, convenient
I stayed here for 4 weeks in November and December. It was absolutely wonderful. There's a good-sized space for a tent and the spring house itself i used as my kitchen where i set up my stove, etc. The hosts are great and there are lots of trails for hiking. It is located 5 minutes from anything one might need. I highly recommend this place.

Nice spot for a quick city getaway
John and his family made sure we had everything we needed to set up a comfortable campsite. They even had lighters and lighter fluid in the springhouse! We loved being able to camp close to the city.

The Stone Fire Pit & Hammock place was absolutely lovely - everything we expected for our one night tent camping. The property had direct access to some trails (one with a small waterfall and swing!). We also enjoyed the swimming pool to cool off after hot day. The hosts were kind and helpful! We hope to be back again soon.

Thank you for sharing this space!
Great camping spot with awesome access to trails and more! We ended up spending a lot of time on the water at the fishing center which wasn't very walkable from the site, but still very close. Usually we are backpacking in very primitive sites far away from society, but this was just a short escape from the city for us so we ended up going home for naps and a shower since this was conveniently located right where we wanted to spend some time hiking and kayaking. The compostable toliet was a great feature of this site, the spring house is very interesting! There are lots of bugs as expected, and we saw some huge spiders at night which took a bit of getting used to. Made friends with the cicadas and spiders, had a decent experience with the fire pit despite the rain, and overall really enjoyed the private space. Definitely a preferred site over going to regular campgrounds in the area which tend to be crowded. We didnt get to see the hosts as our schedules never aligned, but we appreciated their daughter helping us out and had no issues at the site.

We had an amazing time here. My best friend and I hung out around the fire, spent our day in the pool and were close enough to town to go out to brunch. I kinda don’t want people to find out about this gem.
