This ended up being our favorite stop on our ten day (ten different campsite) roadtrip! The dogs were a little overwhelming at first, jumping on our car and barking at us as we unpacked… but by morning we had made three new best friends 🐕 they slept by our tent through the night and protected us, they kept us company and my son loved playing with them. The pasture was well kept and they had the best portapotty I think I’ve ever been in. It didn’t smell at all (no idea how that’s possible) and had string lights, sanitizer, a mirror, etc. The sheep were a joy to wake up next to and pet- one came right up to the fence when we walked over! The alpaca was cute and the host communicated well too. Our family favorite!

The field is beautiful and the amenities were as expected or better - the portapotty was very clean, for example. My mixed review is because of the dogs - they are very insistent on herding campers around, especially to and from the bathroom, and this comes across as occasionally aggressive barking and sometimes jumping and a little nipping at wheel tires and/or nibbling at pant legs. This made some of the other campers nervous, especially some of the children. I personally was more or less fine with that behavior (though a fellow camper remarked that she was surprised none of the other reviews mentioned that the dogs "were such a nuisance") -- the actual problem for me though was that I brought my dog, and in reaction to his play bows and instigations to play, the border collies would growl and show teeth. Message received - not interested in playing, which is perfectly fine. Except that they continued to hover around camp, trying to shove in for affection, barking at my dog, and baring teeth or growling when my dog got close. We made it through the weekend fortunately without incident, but I wouldn't return - likely at all, but certainly not with my dog. The main thing that would have helped would be a reliable 'go away' command for the dogs to leave camp - our attempts at 'git', 'go home', etc. were unsuccessful, leaving us a bit stressed, as we were pinned down, subject to the coming and going of the dogs on their terms.

Loved camping there! Had friendly neighbors over the weekend too. Didnt get a chance to meet Edwin but chatted with him over the hipcamp app and he was very friendly when chatting.
Pups were very friendly. They “helped” me set up my camper and even had one hop on in when we were bringing stuff inside. Each slot had its own fire pit and there were plenty of spots to choose from. Even with other people there, it wasnt crowded at all like a normal camp would be.
Outhouse was very clean and smelled fresh and clean as well.
I will definitely be coming back again next year for my expos i vend at.

Edwin’s farm was a great stop over as I travelled up 1-95. The area was secluded and the dogs kept me company as I set up. Edwin was very responsive, would recommend!

The check-in was chill and friendly, and finding my spot was easy to figure out from the description provided. Once I was settled, I was left to my own devices between the camping pasture and the animal pasture; it was lovely! I brought my camping luxuries, they provided a potty and a pump faucet with potable water.. They introduced me to their SWEET dogs and I was so socially awkward after that, I can’t remember if I even introduced myself. Their dogs sensed me up stirring early in the morning on my way out, and they came out to say hi/good morning! The dogs do not overstay their welcome, though. Great spot I will keep on my list for the future!

Vintage van life - 1940's style
Had a great time glamping at Edwin's farm. The tent is cozy, the bed is comfy, and the dogs are adorable. Site was a bit hot during the day in full sun but comfortable after sundown. A picnic table would enhance the experience. Overall my son and I loved it and would return.

The camp site was idyllic - sheep, horse, donkey and social collies kept you company as you stargazed and enjoyed your campfire. Highly recommend. Area is wonderful and filled with things to do if you seek activities.

We arrived late late night around 10:30. The pasture has no lights and its huge so we were struggling finding the entrance but out of nowhere Edwin shows up with co hosts (border collies) and led us to the correct spots. Super cool spot, super hosts. Our whole party really enjoyed staying at the farm. They have friendly awesome animals too!!

We loved camping on the top of the Land Rover. A very unique experience for me and my kids. Three of us squeezed in and we slept well. The dogs- as everyone states- are truly a joy to be around. Peaceful fun adventure getaway for a night.

My son and I had such a great time. The dogs are so friendly and fun. The property is gorgeous. The portable toilet is the cleanest I’ve EVER used. So unique and fun, highly recommend. For someone just easing back into camping, this was a great start and safe!

The camp site was very private and in a pasture. There is a porta potty and water which is a long walk from where we parked.
Host Edwin gave us our privacy and we enjoyed playing with his dogs.
The entrance to the farm is well marked and easy to find. The farm close to a gas station with a convenience store. If you want a treat go to Black Forest Tap Room for a beer which is just down the road.

Great place to spend the night! Was travelling in the area and needed a simple last-minute spot to stay and this fit the bill perfectly. The welcoming committee of three sheep dogs was very helpful in showing us our spot and guarding us while we set up camp. Nice and quiet during the night and very easy to find. Would stay again!

I would definitely stay on this farm again. Everyone was very friendly. The area where I set up was well maintained and very roomy and well set away from other campers.
Even with having a wedding plan for that weekend. I didn't feel neglected. Loved it and the animals were lovely!.

It was great camping in the pasture. The sheep dogs are very friendly and well behaved. They really do snuggle up and love a good game of fetch. The alpaca, donkey, horse, and sheep are friendly too and great for entertaining kids. We will definitely return.

Edwin was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Keep in mind that the dogs do come for a visit and hang around which wasn't a problem for us but if you're not a dog person it may be a negative. The field is beautiful and rustic. The porta john was very clean. It rained quite a lot before we came and the way into the pasture was quite muddy.

We recently stayed at this private campsite and mostly had a pleasant experience. The location is quiet and peaceful, with the fun bonus of being near sheep, a mule, alpaca, and mini horse. The site was well maintained, and the porta potty was impressively clean.
However, I need to share a serious concern for those considering a stay—especially if you have dogs or small children. There are three off-leash dogs on the property. While two were friendly and respectful of space, the third dog was not. Despite all the dogs getting along fine to begin with, the third dog suddenly attacked our dog from behind while he was standing in between my legs. During the attack, the dog bit me on my inner thigh. Though the bite didn’t break the skin, it caused significant bruising and swelling. The dog then also barked aggressively at my husband when we tried to shoo him away. We notified the owner and he did return to the site and put the dog inside, but still the same dog returned twice more during our stay.
I don’t enjoy leaving negative feedback, but for safety reasons, I can’t recommend this site for guests with dogs or kids.

This is my 1st time using Himpcamp & the 1st time I camped at Mr. Edwin's property, but it will not be my last! I enjoyed the solitude, the beautiful sunrise and sunset. I enjoyed the surprise visit from the dogs. I thought it was cute that the boy dogs were fighting over my attention. I have no complaints. If I needed any thing or had any questions, Mr. Edwin was quick to reply and answer my questions. I look forward to returning.

We stayed in the tent on top of the Land Rover. It was parked along the tree line on the edge of a pasture. About 50 sheep with lambs, an alpaca, a gentle, friendly pony and a horse were in the field next to us. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll really appreciate his farm dogs, who were happy to hang with us and keep us company. The tent was quite comfortable, though it took some concentration to safely maneuver getting up and down the ladder. The port a pot was the freshest smelling, cleanest one I’d ever encountered, and the other tent sites were in the same field, but not at all close to our site. The town of Bel Air is very close by with numerous restaurants. I would recommend the Sunny Day Cafe or one of the others on main st in the old town center. Bel Air also has just about any retail store you can think of. If you want to stay away from all of that, there are several nice parks within 20-30 minutes of the farm. Harford Glen is an environmental center that has a boardwalk through some wetlands, hiking trails through the woods and along side a creek, and a pond. Check online to find out when it’s open to the public. Rocks State Park also has hiking trails, with Dear Creek running through it. Visit the King and Queen Seat while you’re there. Also nearby, is a popular rail trail if you have bikes with you. Our stay at Edwin’s farm was very pleasant and carefree, which is just what we were looking for. Thanks Edwin!
