When I was a stay at home mom I tried my hand at homesteading. Then I realized it's really hard work to parent and farm at the same time! Today I still have grapes blueberries and figs but that's about it. I currently operate a pet sitting business and find myself busy and satisfied working with cats, dogs, chickens, and occasionally reptiles!  If you need a pet sitter while you are at Fools Grove, feel free to ask!

Fool's Grove is my lazy two-acre homestead, perfect for the first time camper.  There is a dwarf fruit tree orchard, blackberries, blueberries, figs, and a pollinator garden.  I often have deer in my yard, groundhogs live under the garage, and occasionally a flock of wild turkeys visits. Past campers have told me that I have "excellent bird diversity" in my orchard.  I keep Fool's Grove as organic as possible and avoid the use of chemicals.  There are no unpleasant-smelling chicken farms near me, I promise! Our camping experience is "Primitive Plus" because I do have shared electricity, a shared chemical toilet, shared water (hose), and a shared kitchenette (in the garage).  For bathing, an affordable option I encourage campers to bring is a "Simple Shower".  Upon arrival park up by the garage.  A very short walk behind the garage will take you to our camping site which sits between the solar panels and the grapes. It includes a small fire pit, several chairs, and a cable tie for pets. This site is roughly equivalent to the State Park "Group Sites".  In fact, Fool's Grove is available for outdoor religious ceremonies, such as celebrations of the equinoxes and solstices, and weddings.  We also offer a primitive kitchenette in our garage which includes a mini-fridge, drip coffee makers, toaster ovens, and fire starting and first aid supplies.  Quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am. On your arrival day, please text us to let us know your ETA so we can arrange to greet you.  Rabies-vaccinated dogs are welcome.  Please keep your dog on a leash and clean up after your dog.   The mowed perimeter of the property is a great place for a long dog walk and is about .25 miles.  Please check out my "Extras" including firewood, woodfire cooking tools, laundry services, musical performances, baby trees and fruit, when in season. Local Restaurants: Delmar Pizza, Delmar, MD:  Best pizza in the county, and I'm originally a Jersey Girl so trust me!  Cactus Taverna, Salisbury, MD  (To the South): Best Paella in several counties.  Also, excellent white wine margaritas. Third Wave Brewery, Delmar, DE: most local brewery, sometimes has food trucks. Ikebana, Salisbury, MD (To the South) : Best sushi and udon in the county. Abbots on Broad Creek: (To the North) Laurel DE, it's a nice upscale locally owned restaurant with a bar and outdoor tables. Excellent seafood. Local Fun: Altitude Trampoline Park, Delmar MD about a mile away. "Escape Salisbury" Escape Room 6 miles south in Down Town Salisbury. Schumaker Pond Disk Golf, Salisbury MD, free, BYO Discs.  I'd be happy to meet up with you there for a game, if I am free!   8 miles south. Trap Pond State Park, DE  North about 20 min, will cost a few $ for parking, also has disc golf and boating rentals. Salisbury Zoo, free zoo with a collection of North and South American animals and some from Australia as well.  7 minutes south.

If you require a "pull-in" site for your car, truck, van or trailer, we have an accessible spot for you. This site includes access to our communal garage kitchenette which includes a mini-fridge, drip coffee maker, and toaster ovens. Why park at Walmart when you can stay with us and have fresh coffee in the morning?  You will be parked on the lawn with enough space to turn around. The site is located very close to the street and is well lit at night by floodlights on the garage. Expect some street noise. A primitive outdoor bathroom is provided which is a short walk away. You may set up a tent if you prefer, but for a more private site, please visit our "Fools Grove Camp" listing.  We don't have any reviews for this site yet, but if you read the reviews at "Fool's Grove Camp" many pertain to this location. Don't forget to order your extras, such as you pick Blueberries (July) and Figs (August/September).
