Catoctin Quaker Camp is a beloved destination for groups and families seeking a tranquil retreat into nature. Visitors rave about the peaceful surroundings, with many appreciating the spacious cabins, clean facilities, and the chance to enjoy hiking, swimming, and campfires. The camp's charm is further enhanced by helpful caretakers and the convenient proximity to parks for additional outdoor activities. While most feedback is glowing, the rustic nature of the cabins and the occasional cooler shower are minor points mentioned by some guests.
Me encanta la paz de este lugar es un buen lugar para ir en familia o amigos solamente que el clima no esté tan frío y todo será aún mas perfecto gracias a quienes cuidan este lugar hacen una labor maravillosa.

We have been renting Catoctin Quaker camp for over 20 years and adore everything about it, but their new caretaker Brian is above and beyond! Hats off to his helpfulness and generosity, his kindness and all of his efforts to make our camp experience memorable!
We loved our stay at this place so much! Katherine’s cabin was beautiful, with a tall canopy overhead and very peaceful nights. The bathroom facilities were also very nice with nice hot water for showers at the end of the day.
Rustic and full of Quaker magic!!! This cabin is closest to the bathhouse (with real toilets). It’s also near the secret fire circle, but not too close- we were able to sleep in quiet with a couple dozen friends enjoying the fire still.
Our whole family loves Catoctin! The cabins are well designed and spacious, beautiful forest views on every side, and the lagoon, camp fire circle and other public spaces are great. Highly recommended renting the lodge if you’re with a group!
Cabin was super clean but you were exposed to the elements it’s more like a shelter. Property is beautiful. We had dear come in all night long. We enjoyed your stay, thank you!
We had a great stay, beautiful peaceful location and our kids loved playing in the pond and “beach”! Nice clean bathhouse, and we were with a group that also rented the lodge+kitchen so that was very convenient.
FYI the listing says wheelchair accessible and 2wd, which probably applies to some of the property and shared facilities but cabin #13 at least has steps to enter and you can’t park right by the cabin.
Our Second Grade students loved camping here, as always! The kids could have spent hours searching for salamanders in the pond. The property is beautiful and we always enjoy our time there.
We love renting this beautiful property, with more than enough space for our annual gathering of 30-50 adults and children. While the facilities are rustic, they are ideal for a group like ours that has experience camping and likes to be immersed in nature. The opportunities for nearby exploration, swimming, campfires, and the ability to prepare group meals work great for us. David is communicative and helpful, and we can't recommend the property enough.
We really enjoyed our weekend. My camp obsessed kid was so happy to ‘relive’ the camp experience with friends and family. There were a few other people around but we felt like the only people there for most of the time. I do recommend Elizabeth and Margaret for being away from the road and close to the bathhouse but the cabins on the other side were in beautiful settings so it is hard to decide. The bathhouse was awesome! Great hot showers and clean. It was cold so we had to look around a little for enough firewood but it was easy to find. We never called the caretaker because everything was explained well.
Camping at Catoctin is one of the highlights of our year! We missed it for 3 years because of COVID, and it really felt like coming home. I couldn’t recommend a better place to spend some time and relax and enjoy the outdoors. We are so lucky to have this camp so close to the DMV area!
A bit close to the “road” but still quite peaceful. Screen cabins made it feel like we were sleeping outside. Plenty of deadfall to break up for firewood, and convenient pre-strung ropes for bear bags. Wish we’d had more time to explore the trails around the campground. Super-convenient to the state and national park, to great mountain biking, and to the Appalachian Trail.
