About the Location: Our campsites sit quietly tucked away in nature’s embrace — yet you’re perfectly placed between three of Maine’s most charming coastal towns. In minutes, you can: • Bite into the famous lobster roll at Red’s Eats in Wiscasset • Wander historic Downtown Damariscotta (10 min drive) • Explore vibrant Boothbay Harbor and its stunning botanical gardens (15 min drive) • Or take a scenic 20-minute drive to Pemaquid Beach and lighthouse Beach day, forest hike, seafood feast — whatever your whim, it’s all right here. About the Sites: These sites are built for tent campers, small campers, and alternative camping setups who love comfort without the crowds. No water, electric, or sewer hookups — just the basics, the way camping was meant to be. You’ll have: • A private, spacious site where the only traffic is the occasional passing car • A fire pit, picnic table, and large waterproof sun shade • Solar lights for a soft glow under the stars • A clean compost outhouse on site Here, the soundtrack is birdsong, wind through the trees, and your own crackling fire. About the Land: The Wild Whim campsite property spans 23 peaceful acres, shared with a neighboring homestead and graced by the serene Lily Pond. A short walk from your site leads to quiet waterfront views perfect for swimming, kayaking, or a picnic with nothing but the gentle ripple of water as company. About Your Hosts: I’m Mik — your caretaker, host, and fellow escape artist. After 10+ years in the hustle of marketing agencies, my husband and I traded it all for off-grid living here in Maine with our pup, Corduroy. My business partner, Tommy, made a similar leap into peace and quiet after a busy career. We love sharing this land with kindred spirits who crave a reset.

    I stayed here for two nights with two other folks and we had a great time! The site is beautiful and quiet. You could hear the wind in the trees and nature all around. It was just the getaway we were looking for! Mikaela was also an excellent host! She was very responsive and took time to answer all my questions to the fullest extent. I would highly recommend this site to anyone passing through or looking to get away for a while and reconnect to nature ❤️

    We had a great stay! Booked last minute and it did the trick. We brought our two dogs - the one thing I didn’t expect was to be that close to the road which does have the occasional car as the listing describes. It is not 100% private. The outhouse is super cute! You can tell a lot of thought went into it. Great place to stay to explore the Boothbay area.

    Great spot. Mosquitos can be a little rough but it's the outdoors. Close to a large lake. Quiet. Bring your own water. Enjoy :)

    MIkael, was a welcoming and responsive host. The woods and location are absolutely beautiful and private. The bugs are no joke but if you're use to Maine in July this is no suprise; happy we brought our screenhouse, and picardian to keep the ticks away. I will plan on bringing a solar shower next time, as the pond is beautiful but access was a bit tricky. We will return for sure. I would 100% recommend New Sphere.
