For a truly unusual Maine vacation, give Orange Lake a try. Located in Maine’s Down East and Acadia Region, Orange Lake is near US Route 1 and only ten miles from the Atlantic coast. A night, week at Orange Lake will keep you close to historic coastal attractions, yet serenely isolated when you want to be. Here you don’t have to choose one or the other – you can have both. Twin Bucks Cabin offers privacy on 2 acres of land. Easy access to Orange Lake for kayaking, fishing. Approxomately 800 feet to boat lauch. Several lakes within a 10 mile raduis. Small cabin but clean and beautifully remodeled with knotty pine. 2 twin size beds. Please bring linens or sleeping bag. There is electricity to the cabin with multiple outlets for your needs. A smoke and carbon monoxide detector is there for your personal safety. Fire pit with wood available. Picnic table. Gas grill. Plenty of parking. A real taste of Maine at an affordable price. Miles of hiking trails to explore and minutes to the ocean. Miles of ATV trails that can be accessed from the premises. Brand new and clean outhouse on site. All trash must be carried out. One dog considered, must be leashed at all times. Dog owner responsible for clean up and any damages incurred. The Whiting Store (real country store) is located about 3 miles on Route 1 North. Hannaford in Machias Maine is about 5 miles south on Route 1. Directions to the boat launch......take a left from your driveway, the boat launch is about 300 feet on the right hand side and is marked by a driftwood sign that is marked BOAT LAUNCH. Campobello Island, New Brunswick Canada is 24 miles away from the camp. Please remember to bring your passport for admittance to Canada. You’ll fall in love with Orange Lake, the rocky Maine coast and its amazing history.Explore Downeast Maine from the privacy of your own slice of heaven. Dog owner is responsible for clean up and any damages incurred. Upon arrival a lock box with key is on the front door. A code will be sent upon confirmation of reservation.

I enjoyed my stay at Twin Bucks Cabin. It was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. An electric heater kept it warm even with temperatures at night in the upper 30s and there is also a secondary heater for when it gets really cold. You have electricity to keep all your things charged. There is no WiFi but with my cell carrier I had a good signal and could get online that way no problem. So it was warm, cozy and comfortable. Very quiet (with an occasional owl or loon calling!) And the hosts checked to see if I there was anything at all that I needed. Great place, great hosts!

Twin Bucks Cabin 🦌🦌
Bill and Carol were excellent hosts! They made us feel very welcome and made sure we had enough firewood to stay warm. The downeast is a stunning location to visit. Bill and Carols location is just 30mins from Cutler coast, machiasport, eastport and everything in between! lots of nature to explore and some great restauraunts too! definately a great location off the beaten path with more than you expect to be offered. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Twin Bucks cabin. The location was very clean, quiet and is a wonderful place for a weekend retreat. Carol was also very responsive and helpful. We will definitely return and we highly recommend!

Spectacular location for exploring downeast. Carol went above and beyond in accommodating us. The cabin has the perfect amount of amenities for one looking for a more cozy camping experience. We loved having access to the grill for cooking and being lulled to sleep by loon calls on Orange Lake

The cabin was very clean and well maintained. It was clear that the hosts had put a lot of time and effort into making everything as comfortable as possible. The firepit was great and the wood provided was well seasoned. I'd highly recommend and love to go back!

Twin Bucks Cabin 🦌🦌
I stayed one night at Carol's cabin and enjoyed it a lot. It's peaceful and the two bucks are there too, which is funny and gives a sense of history to the place. With electricity to recharge your phone, wood to start a fire, a barbecue to cook and heat to warm the chilly nights, you'll have all you need to be happy in the woods. Carol is very responsive and can tell you what to do in the area depending on your interests.

Twin Bucks Cabin 🦌🦌
We loved camping on Carols property. The cabin was cozy with 2 twin beds that were comfy. She provides some reading material so you get to know the area and have some ideas of what to do. The night time was super quiet, there are no sounds other than the sound of a loon calling from a across the water. If you want to get away from it all and find some peace I would recommend staying at Twin Bucks. Carol was very responsive and accommodating. We plan on staying again in the very near future!

Cozy and comfortable, we loved sitting by the fire pit. A perfect place to spend the night before hiking the Cutler Coast trail.

The cabin is situated in a beautiful little woodland and is incredibly peaceful. There was no road noise and only the sound of crickets and loons broke the silence.

I really enjoyed my (too short) stay at the rustic property. The cabin is perfectly appointed and everything went very smoothly. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet time in the Maine woods.

cute little camping cabin for a quick one night stay. loved the surrounding area, it was very peaceful (aside for the haunted owl hooing all night 😅). we were having trouble finding the boat launch but the host was super responsive & made sure we found it! would come again & recommend, thanks so much!

Twin Bucks Cabin 🦌🦌
Very cute, quaint cabin with true serenity. Keep driving down Sunrise way and you will see a sign that says “twin bucks cabin” and the cabin will be very visible from the driveway. Cabin is very convenient to so much coastal hiking from easy to challenging, depending on your comfort level. Carol and Billy have done a good job keeping the cabin clean and tidy. Reading material is provided (local hiking brochures, magazines, etc) which was a nice surprise as I got bored of my own book that I brought. Some battery powered lanterns are provided but I suggest bringing your own as not to waste their batteries. Feels very rural but you are a quick 15ish minutes drive from Machias and Lubec with all the general creature comforts (restaurants, grocery store, gas stations). Very responsive and helpful hosts! Thank you for hosting me and my pup Meeko! Will be back!

What a lovely cozy little cabin. It was so quiet and toasty I slept quite late, which is so unusual for me! The heater was much welcomed on a cold, rainy night and beds were comfy and cozy. Everything was neat and clean. A special thank you to my welcoming hosts who had the cabin warmed up for me and came to greet me in the dark and pouring rain to personally escort me to the cabin! That was incredibly kind! (I hesitate even to review it and let the secret out!) This will become a favorite retreat!
