The Lonely Loon

this spot was a literal dream! it was exactly what i was hoping for - a serene, quiet, and beautiful place to camp for the night. the pond is peaceful, gorgeous and i had it all to myself, and there was even a kayak to take onto the water. ginger was super quick to respond, was very easy to communicate with, and was helpful with any questions i had. I would absolutely, highly recommend the lonely loon!! my only feedback is that i would suggest some kind of compost toilet set-up so guests don't have to disturb ginger in her home to use the toilet.

great value, beautiful location. the pond is stunning and ginger’s amenities are generous! as others have mentioned, i initially felt a bit awkward about texting ginger to use the restroom, but she was quick to reply and it was a total non-issue. use the kayaks! such a beautiful place for a paddle.

A wonderful location, a bit close to the hosts house, but she was very welcoming and gracious. There is plenty of privacy and solitude if that’s what you are looking for. You couldn’t ask for a better, more picturesque location. The site is perfect for one or two people just looking for a quiet retreat.

Ginger has one of the most peaceful spots we have camped at in a while! The tent site was big enough for our larger tent. The pond is crystal clear and being able to sit by the fire in and be right by the pond was so relaxing. She offers wifi, which we chose not to use to give us a few days to unplug. She does offer firewood, which is amazing but it was saturated and didn't burn that well. As we like to cook over the fire, we chose to look for our own firewood which proved to be a bit difficult. She is a very respectful host and we did not see or hear from her unless we contacted her. I was a bit worried when we first got there and realized her house was closer to the site that I originally thought, but once we settled in I forgot all about that. I would definitely recommend thos site if you want to relax as the only sounds you hear are from the wildlife!
