We so love it here that we wanted to share it with others. Not much for rules, just ask for you to leave it better than you found it. Our piece of land has neighbors on both sides: one side protected by trees and cannot see them, the other side has a wired fence and both neighbors are super friendly. Set up right next to the river and enjoy the tranquil sounds of the waterfalls just above. This is also where 3 Pools is located, a place to soak and play, even pan for gold if you'd like! Coos Canyon is just 5 miles north of the site and Rumford is about 7 miles south where you can get any amenities you may need. It is right on rt 17, so you'll likely hear traffic. Setting up close to the river is ideal so you can hear the waterfalls instead.Come relax on a nice open flat lot right on Swift River in Roxbury, Maine! Just 7 miles from downtown Rumford for any amenities, Coos Canyon just 5 miles north. No electricity or drinkable water onsite, can pump water from the river if you have a pump. As of 5/1/26 there is a porta potty on site. Must carry in/carry out. Plenty of downed wood to use for campfire. Okay to use grill and propane if available. Must carry in/carry out all items, including dog poop and cigarette butts. Can use any fallen wood on the property for the firepit. You have a lot of space to pull in and turn around and set up wherever you like! This is about 1 acre of land. There are neighbors on both sides. One you won't be able to see through the woodline. The other neighbor you will be able to see, but there is a wired fence down the property line.

We had a great time in Roxbury! There's so much hiking and recreational activities in the area. Can't beat this location. Listening to the waterfall a little upstream all night was wonderful.

Great time on the Swift River. The access to the river and swimming holes at Three Pools was amazing. The hosts left some wood near the fire pit and the lot had plenty of flat room for a tent. Thanks Carrie & Bob!

On a beautiful piece of property right next to the river! Ran into a host and talked to him for a bit where we had a nice conversation, great guy! Noise from the traffic was very minimum. Stores are only a 10 minute drive away. It was a nice, quick spot to get away and enjoy the views and sounds of the river

Carrie and Bob were great hosts, with fantastic communication! The campsite was great for us and a quick weekend getaway! Easy to find and right on the beautiful river. We enjoyed relaxing by the water and enjoying the waterfall upstream.

The yard was mowed, level and had a nice gas grill. The river is why we chose the spot. It requires a climb down rocks to access the river and too rocky to swim there. There is a popular swimming hole up river. In July the water was too warm to fish for trout. The road noise and lack of a private place to put the poop bucket were the negatives. If the host owns the neighboring property, a place could be cut out.

Great site. Right on the river. I had a great weekend there with my daughter. Swam in the river. The neighbor was super friendly. My daughter didn’t want to leave, and we’ll definitely be going back.

Stunning spot on the river. The view was gorgeous. The site was well prepared with a fire ring and picnic tables. The only downside (not the hosts’ fault) would be the noise due to the proximity to the road and others. It was Memorial Day weekend so probably a bit busier than usual. If you’re looking for an escape in isolation, probably not the best spot. If you’re looking for a relaxing time with a beautiful view and close proximity to civilization and nature activities, this spot is perfect. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great site! Booked it a few days in advance, first time using a hipcamp site. The pictures have an accurate representation of the site, it was mowed before we arrived. Car camped with two dogs, the neighbor has a fenced in yard for their dog so it was nice not having to worry about that. It's near the road but enough yard space to feel spacious, some road noise but it decreased in the evening. Camp hosts were responsive and helpful!

Nice set up and same day response on our last minute attempt to catch the solar storm. Right off the road. Chatted with the neighbor in the AM.

When our kids cry because they don’t want to leave, we’ve found a special spot. There is a waterfall and swimming holes close by. You can sit by the fire, read a book, and listen to the rushing water. The neighbors were friendly, providing us with local attractions and offered to let our kids cross their yard to get to the waterfall. Coos Canyon is only 5 miles away and another natural beauty to experience. The campsite is off of Route 17 so expect some road noise if you are planning to stay in a tent. The only regret we had was not booking an extra night!
