Peace pipe point
A perfect nature weekend getaway!
Our first HipCamp experience was at Peace Pipe Point and it is going to be reeeeally hard to top! So beautiful, serene, secluded and all around MARVELOUS weekend! My husband and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary somewhere unique (not just a regular campground), peaceful and private, camping while not being far out. This delivered on so many levels! When you’re out there in your camp, you feel like you are perched literally right at the edge of nature, not just the beautifully calm river. A pair of bald eagles visited multiple times, to a tree branch right above our heads! WOW! The sunrise over the water was stunning and should not be missed. We cooked over the fire, stargazed at night and spent the afternoons in the canoe, immersing ourselves in the entire beautiful natural scene. You almost feel alone out there. And all the included extras like the kayak and canoe are such a delight! The gardens and grounds are beautiful. The portapotty was clean and stocked and there was the cutest fresh running water set-up. You take a short walk past a couple of other camps before coming to your private and well-lit path that leads you out to your private site. Only visible from the water, this tent site (and the entire weekend spent there) was simply amazing. We wanted to just spend quality time together in nature and that is what we got at this gem of a place to camp. We didn’t want to leave! The host is wonderful. Very communicative and helpful. You can feel the love he’s put into this special place and we felt blessed to share it. GO AND STAY! You won’t want to leave either.
Thank you for the wonderful anniversary weekend memories, Peace Pipe Point! And thank you, wonderful Floyd, for sharing your little piece of heaven!

Gorgeous sites. Floyd has put a lot of work into this quirky haven. Saw a few eagles and a loon, to boot!

This place was my favorite place to camp at hipcamp so far. Beautiful grounds, swam in the lake and the stars were amazing.

Wonderful. We'll be back!
Such a wonderful camping spot! My fiancé, our dog, and our two friends tented at two different sites on Floyd's property and had a lovely time. It's clear that Floyd put a lot of energy and heart into the space, as it's sprinkled with the perfect amount of amenities but still feels like an escape into nature on the water. A super clean porta potty, a large sink and mirror, and hose access made our trip feel nice and comfortable, and the easy access to drop-in points on the river, access to water crafts, and very vocal bullfrog population made for a magical stay. Floyd was wonderful and welcoming but not at all overbearing, and if you pick this property, you certainly won't regret it!

Bring bug spray for mosquitoes and horseflies! Property is beautiful! We didn't pitch tent at summer daze, but rather Lazy Lagoon, as there was nobody else camping... There are 3 separate sites, among other areas to hammock or sit and enjoy the sounds of the birds and the breeze and the view of the river. Everything is clean and well kept. My family and I had a great stay.

Gorgeous spot by the river
Lovely spot!
Super pretty, lots of interesting wildlife (we startled a bald eagle a few times when coming back to camp!), thoughtful touches (like lights guiding you to the port-a-potty at night), good communication with Floyd, private site well away from the house and other sites, and use of a kayak! I agree with another reviewer that this place would be perfect for a family reunion — three sites dispersed throughout the property with common areas in the middle.
Some things to note:
-Between the road noise and the bullfrogs it was rather noisy
-There were lots and lots of bugs (though you’re going to get this with any spot near a body of water)
All in all, we had an excellent time!
(Oh, and if you need somewhere to eat, we liked Vittles, a local casual spot that didn’t seem to mind our slightly grungy camping clothes.)

Beautiful, private, and peaceful...
What a gorgeous spot! With only three sites that are well spread-out, this location is a lovely, private getaway. We loved relaxing by the fire overlooking the river, and the moonrise was just incredible over the water. Our pups loved splashing around, and the water was warm for a swim. We may have packed a little lighter as you need to carry in a little ways, but it was well-worth the privacy. Floyd was a wonderful host, helpful and welcoming as we saw him improving the property as we explored. As there are no campgrounds in the area the local store didn't carry firewood, so you'll want to pick some up on your way in (within a 50 mile radius to prevent spread of forest-destroying beetles.) There was a canoe and kayak available for our use, as well as a port-a-potty that was well-maintained and a dishwashing station that was a very welcome addition. If you're coming with two tents I'd recommend also renting the nearby Lazy Lagoon site. It might be tricky to navigate at night for the first time, so a daytime check-in would be a good idea. Overall a wonderful experience, and we hope to come back again soon!

Relaxing Evening
Unique site with a welcoming host and everything you’d want for a relaxing experience.
Great visibility for stargazing and if you’re lucky you might be able to watch the moon rise over the river — spectacular!
Would recommend to anyone looking for an easy evening on a lazy river.

It was a nice option for easing back into solo camping. The view was gorgeous and peaceful. I could hear frogs through the night and before I fell asleep the moon ascended directly across from me on the other side of the water. Wow. It was magic. There were only a few other folks camping simultaneously, so it felt fairly private and quiet. The land is thoughtfully laid out and access to wood for a fire was such a treat. Floyd was also incredibly warm and hospitable but definitely didn't interrupt or invade any privacy or space. I'd definitely recommend it for small groups or families or people looking for some creature comforts during their camping excursion.

Go if you appreciate Nature!
Gorgeous spot for a campout! I really enjoyed my trip there, it was just perfect for my needs. The kayak provided helped me explore the river with ease. The new life jacket was a thoughtful touch. I really appreciated the beauty of nature all around, with the sounds of nature eclipsing the sounds of humans. I look forward to camping there again!

Beautiful Safe Haven
Floyd’s place is gorgeous- he has lots of different flowers and trees along the property. The pictures do not to justice, lots of time went into this place. Every corner of his property is something beautiful. Solar lights are all around the trails at night and the river is very clean to swim in. 10/10 would recommend this place!

Peaceful Camping.
Way better than we had thought. Not that I thought it would be terrible but because I am anxious and online shopping makes me nervous. Floyd did an amazing job setting up this site. Not only did we think it was beautiful, but had a great sense of peace while we were there. Floyd offered us firewood and made it known we could reach out with any concerns. The river was warm and filled with wildlife. From a bald eagle stopping by 3 different times in the mornings, to the choir of frogs at night. He also had a kayak and a canoe to which we could borrow and explore with. There was a very clean portapotty and potable water a short walk away. Honestly there was nothing else we could have asked for. Thank you Floyd. We will most definitely be back.

Tranquil Retreat for Stargazing
A gentle breeze stirs along the shoreline, gently moving the lavender pickerel weed blossoms in rounds of agreement. Cattails across the river wave back in one accord, rippling in the breeze.
A Great Blue Heron stands ready to snatch out minnows, its quiet endurance a testament to patience and quick action.
An osprey keer keers above, wings frothing the air as it helicopters over the water, patiently searching for fish.
Such is the quality of natural peace to be found at Peace Pipe Point. Situated within 30 minutes reach of Bangor and Waterville and close to I-95, it's fairly close to things by Maine standards, and just far away enough to feel indeed away.
The campground is on a privately owned home property along the river. Recently fixed up and enhanced with group and site fire pits, lush gardens, tent sites, and an outdoor kitchen area. Woodchip paths and tent pads make staking easy, too. It could be the perfect place for camping oriented family reunion, with several fire pit areas ready to use and plenty of room.
A canoe and kayak with life jackets are available. I was pleased to see a brand new life jacket thoughtfully placed there for my use. Kayaking the river's tranquil waters, the current was gentle and easy to paddle back against. The clear water made it eady to see the plants underneath. Paddling out to see the sunset was time well spent, viewing cotton candy clouding that even Maxfield Parrish would have admired. The massive snapping turtle I mistook for a rock and almost ran over was impressively armored yet quick to disappear below.
I love places where one can see the sunrise over the water, and here it is impressively framed by two stands of trees, one a massive maple whose graceful, upswep limbs reach out over the water.
Dinner cooked on my new campstove, was of course the best ever tasted. Time spent firegazing, star and comet watching made for a perfect day. Falling asleep to a full bullfrog chorus was fun too.
I loved it here and will be back.
Oh, during rush hour you can hear the airbrakes and obnoxious motorcyclers. But they are few, far away, and going 70+ mph. The nature between that is roaring. That and the privacy afforded here is more important to me.
This is exactly what I needed to escape the intown mighty mowers that ravage the sound barrier in my little area. It was my first time solo camping and was everything I needed. I can't wait to get back already.

Simply a great spot
This is a simply wonderful spot along the river, far preferable to almost any campground sites you 'd pay the same money for. There were some other tents between the small house and the river, but it wasn't clear if anyone was staying in them, and the river site feels very private. We were there in mid-September and it was fairly buggy, perhaps because of the marshy areas along the river, but the bugs weren't biting. From where you park it's about 30 yards' walk to the campsite. There was another tent site at the furthest driving point, and we actually put our tent there to have it near the vehicle, but this site is not the one pictured in the listing. Both tent sites had great river views and wood chips nicely laid down for drainage and keeping the tents clean. We were traveling with a Ford Transit van and just barely squeezed between some rocks and trees to get to the end of the driveable area -- be very careful before attempting that in a large vehicle, especially as the rocks are hard to see. We never met the host Floyd but he answered our questions promptly and cheerfully. Be careful with the directions, as the Google Maps link on the listing put the site on the east side of the river, and Google Maps puts the address at the wrong spot also. The site is on the west side of the river, and the driveway is off Rte. 100, just south of what Google Maps indicates is "Eeelweir Rd."

Cleanest Porta Potty Ever!
The campsite was on a lovely river, and we were the only folks around, which felt very comfortable and safe. We enjoyed the fire, and noted that the Porta Potty was the cleanest we'd ever encountered - thank you! The site, indeed the entire camp area, could have used a quick once over. There are actually 2 campsites, and room for many other tents. The most private site had quite a bit of trash in it, and so we opted for the less private, but cleaner site. There was plenty of firewood available, for which we were grateful, but our fire pit hadn't been cleaned out since used by the previous folks. Also, potential renters should note that - at no fault of the owners - this location has very hungry mosquitoes, so come prepared! The smoke from the fire was inadequate to keep them at bay. All in all, a positive experience, but I would encourage the owners to make a quick sweep of the sites and clean them out prior to having new folks stay. Thank you for the lovely location and the opportunity to sleep near the gorgeous Sebaticook River!
