Elmer&#x27;s Cove

Great camping spot overlooking Whiting Bay. Really loved the views and the firewood that Al provided. Large field for our dogs to run and steps down to the bay were a plus. Stayed in Site 7, which is really the only site that would accommodate our 48' truck/trailer. Other sites work best for tents or camper vans. Very narrow entrance, you'll miss it if you aren't careful.

Enjoyed a great time camping for several days at Elmer's Cove! Spot 5 has a great view, both open enough to enjoy it and protected enough to protect our tent from some storms that blew in. The screen house was handy for rain, too, yay being able to have a dry dinner! Al was a flexible and responsive host and has good recommendations for local stuff to do. Would definitely stay there again if we're up that way in the future.

The location is lovely. Very peaceful, right on the edge of the water. Nice fire pit and picnic table, level spot to tent or park. I did not meet Allan in person, but he was very friendly and accommodating during the arrangements.

Fantastic Fall stay!

What a magnificent spot! Beautiful location and view. Level lot for our van camping. Sites are primitive (fire ring and picnic table) and outhouse for bathroom. But unexpected extras were firewood, jugs of extra water for our use and a few other camping luxuries to borrow.. Absolutely what hipcamp os meant to be !

Elmer's Cove a great find.

Al has a great place on the downeast coast with several options for different camping styles. It's easy to be there: water and firewood at hand. Plenty of privacy. The waters of Cobscook Bay create a relaxing and beautiful experience.

Great spot! Site 5 had a good water view, a bit of privacy with the lean to and could pull our little trailer up close to the spot. Including the firewood and spring water to use is a great perk! I’d stay here again and at site 7 next time to hike down with a tent and have a private oasis.

My spouse, 2 labs and I camped here on an overnight trip to explore the Bold Coast. It was the perfect base to explore from! Al had thought of everything and the listing was very accurate. We really appreciated having fire wood provided. Stunning views. We ended up staying at site 5 on Al’s suggestion which we found was the perfect balance between privacy and being close to the outhouse/fire wood. There was one other group with dogs and one without - we all touched base on boundaries/expectations and were able to have our dogs off leash which was a blessing. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful spot and our site was nice and private…But Al needs to do a check of each campsite between visitors as there was a dirty frypan left in our picnic table as well as 2 dirty jugs of water and a bunch of fuel canisters for the tiki torches. Also the brush on path to campsite needs to be cut down closer to ground as small stumps were sticking up which could cause one to trip and fall downhill. Signage could be improved too. I appreciate what he is trying to do here though and would not necessarily recommend against it if you need a place to camp like we did since Cobs Cook was closed for renovations.

Sunrise Success

My first campsite through the App was a great experience! Our host was quick to respond and very accommodating for a senior and a disabled person. And what a view!!! I wanted to see the sunrise on the east coast, and I was rewarded. The out house is a true outhouse, but charming in its own way, totally fine for the able-bodied, but watch that first step is you’re not so steady.

The Shady Overlook

Elmer's is very rustic and undeveloped and was just what hoped for. Our campsite had a beautiful view of the bay, and we really appreciated having good, dry firewood. The night was quiet and peaceful, and we were pleased that our dogs were welcome.

Beautiful view and Al provided great communication and amenities (firewood, pots, pans, portable showers, etc) nice place for a few nights. We made the mistake of leaving our van door open and some flea-like bugs got in! Other than the little buggies, the stay was perfect. Thank you Al!

Beautiful sites. We saw turnover during holiday wknd and every camper respectful of the shared quiet. Rustic, outhouse only. Thoughtful owner - jugged water and firewood made available and free. His home sits high overlooking campsites and it feels safe for solo females. Beautiful night sky.

What a uniquely beautiful campground! I wouldn't hesitate to go back - my wife would though . The location cannot be beat. The reason for my "Maybe" about recommending Elmor's Cove is the lack of running water and the outhouse, but I understand that it's not something that will change. It's a primitive site. That would be a red flag for some of my camping buddies. We - including our dog - had a wonderful stay for five nights. It's a cool idea that Al provides firewood and torch oil.

This is absolutely NOT a child friendly camping area nor is it tent friendly. The sites are tiny, there is nowhere for kids to move their bodies other than the hill of a driveway which is not safe with other vehicles. There is NO shade. The outhouse is the most shallow excuse for something the host clearly added to ‘meet requirements’ for Hipcamp. There was a birds nest with baby birds in the outhouse. Handwashing station had no water. The drinking water provided had algae growing in it, they were recycled jugs and I don’t believe the well had been tested. There was trash all over the campsite and the provided Adirondack chairs were broken. Neighboring sites are all on top of each other and you can hear every one at the campground The only reason we booked was because Cobscook was closed due to renovations.

This was a lovely place to stay. Clear directions and Al was super helpful and friendly. We stayed in Site #1 and it had a beautiful view of the water and great overall setup. Highly recommend!

Site #1 is Absolutely Beautiful

The communication was outstanding, and our campsite was even better! We were warned ahead of time that we would need to pack our things up and down some steps to get into this incredible spot. I'm so glad we did it, because this spot is both private and has a beautiful view of the bay. I really wish we could have stayed longer. I honestly didn't want to leave. The tent space at Site #1 was JUST big enough for a 10'x10' family tent (we like our changing space) and suits 2 people very comfortably, but would probably accommodate up to 4.

The view from Site 3 of the Bay was so nice. The sunrise sky was great with the reflection on the water. The night sky with all the stars was beautiful and a red moon reflecting on the water was amazing one night. Our camper is 22ft and just fit in the site. The road is tight coming in. The water available and wood was a plus.

The Bay Overlook

Has alot of potential but the walkway was barely cleared to get to it. The site itself was very small and would not hold the amount of people stated. Only 3 chairs would fit around the fire pit. He did let us move to a better site after the first night when people checked out

Secluded little site with great views of the water. Tent area was not the most level, bring extra thick sleeping pads, but it was quiet & we felt like the only people in the world.
