11/3/2025 update: Call for availability and to answer our confirmation questions. Weather/freezing conditions exist from now until early May.Daylight disappears early, gps is sketchy. Weather can be well below freezing and the outside water will likely be unavailable. If you have adequate gear for the conditions we allow all season camping. Submitting a request does not finalize or guarantee a reservation, property approval is required. . Before you make a reservation read the description of each site. Read all of the info, and when you submit your request please include/verify the following info: Is everyone in your group at least 21?/No kids or pets with you.? What sort or camping unit.? Tent/RoofTent/RV/Hammock/Trailer./Van./ Bus etc? Calling, directly by telephone in advance is mandatory to arrange your arrival appointment.. Clarity with your request is necessary. At check out look at the “extras” section to include any pre purchases or rentals. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the masses The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Always call, we can answer all questions to get you into the right site for your style of adventuring. With each listing be sure to READ all the information and the rules. If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we have a variety of rental equipment. Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space. Any questions, call two zero seven six six seven three two four four, calling is the only way to be certain we ( at the physical property) receive your communications and it is important that you also check back to your to see if they ( hipcamp) have sent you communication pertinent to your reservation. When you send your request please answer the following questions to expedite your acceptance. Is everyone at least 21? No pets with you? What are you camping in.? This is what our staff need to know about you in advance. This is No frills at all. Camp at the edge of a small brook or close to it. There is a fire ring. Adults over 21 only. No kids allowed. These sites are the furthest from the port o potty and hose and everything else. Secluded from other campers or neighbors, this can be your chance to sit naked by the campfire or see what it is like to sleep with nothing between yourself and the stars but your skin. A Very natural part of our grounds. And our only Naked site. If unavailable on your dates please check out our other options in Camping With Wolves, which are slightly less primitive.. or the comfy Cadillac Mt View Loft and Hammock site or Biker’s Bunkhouse. Clothing is optional only in the Raw and Rough  site, you can also choose to keep clothing on ! . It is very important that you call two zero seven six six seven three two four four  to be certain we know of your reservation and arrival. If you are trying to reserve within 12 hours of arrival, the system will reject you but you can potentially call us for last minute booking. It can be arranged but YOU MUST CALL. Not use the app method of calling. It does not necessarily reach us immediately. If we are able to answer, you may be in luck if there is a no show . Do not expect luxury. You may need to walk in depending on weather and your vehicle. If the weather is above freezing, there will likely be bugs. We are Away from the crowds of the nearby National Park and about 5 minutes to the bridge if you want to go there. This site is the least suitable of our choices for Equine Camping but we can talk about it. Shower and hose unavailable during freezing weather which is generally Nov-April.This site is usually unavailable in Winter months as it becomes inaccessible. CALL before booking.

Our camping section is located on the grounds of a nonprofit animal facility near Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Hear our wolves howl and enjoy the view of Cadillac Mountain. Sites are spread over a large area ,some are easy to drive or some are a short walk to your site. We need you to be specific as to the type of site you require. Call. Motorcycles are welcome, flat safe parking available. Arrangements for hammock campers possible. Our staff lives on the grounds, our tours and daily lives will be happening. . We provide porta-potty and dumpster and an outdoor hot shower during weather above freezing. No hook up of any type. Great exposure for your own solar panels or generator use. This is a functioning Animal Preserve; we will be going about our daily routine. This is no frills primitive camping, on a very unique propertyThis is not a glamping or resort style camping location. This is , oldschool, , barebones set up your equipment, sit around your fire enjoying the stars or fending off the mosquitos. Use this as your home base while you explore all this region has to offer. We require all guests to be at least 21. Our number is two zero seven six six seven three two four four. CALL. Although reservations must be made via Hipcamp please call this number for directions and arrange for the entry. We have a variety of sites from bare naked to a comfy loft with a view. It is essential to call and especially important to call promptly if you instant book or hope to arrive after sunset. Are you just looking for a place to roll in late, sleep in your car and go to a Cadillac Mountain Sunrise appointment before dawn.? Communicate that, we can and will get you into the right fit but It is imperative that you call to be sure we know of your reservation and arrival. You also may be able to grab a canceled or last minute space but YOU MUST CALL DIRECTLY. Do Not use the app system of calling. It may not reach us immediately, if ever. Usually No outdoor shower or hose from Nov-April but camping can still be arranged if you have adequate gear for the climate. Adventure Vans and tent camping with adequate gear will be allowed on a limited basis during Winter. Which is generally November-May. CALL before you book your reservation. Do not count on gps to get you here, it is very unreliable in this area. Call get real, verbal directions and write them down or print them as you may also not have reliable phone signal.

Cadillac Mt View Loft and Hammocks

This is a very unique spot. .It can be rented on it’s own or combined with an adjoining site . There is an indoor, upstairs loft, with a double bed, a downstairs area with a propane fire pit and a hammock for sleeping and relaxing in any weather. If it’s a good fit, you will awaken to one of the first sunrises on the East Coast and have a view of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. You will be within a private animal preserve. Adults over 21 only. No kids or no pets allowed. Also perfect for a small tent which can be inside the lower level or outside as you feel like.   A beautiful loft at the top of a ladder with views in 4 directions surrounded by stars, sunrise, sunset , fog or occasionally a view of the Northern Lights. Screened windows , solid walls and roof and serenity. No electricity, Take a step back to simplicity and unplug.  Motorcycles welcome and can be brought inside below . Essential to call BEFORE booking at two zero seven six six seven three two four four. We also have other overnight or weekly sites at Camping With Wolves or the clothing optional site Rough and Raw. Sometimes people cancel or just never show up. Call us to see if there is a last minute space. Direct Phone call  or text is the only sure way to contact promptly. Talk to us first. Depending on availability, customized timing and services can be arranged . This changes pricing. A romantic step up from tent camping or a perfect solitary retreat. . . Call for the most accurrate info.. Reserve a Camping With Wolves tent site or Biker’s Bunkhouse if dates for the Loft are unavailable.. The Loft is available year round unless ice/snow /mud make it inaccessible. Maine weather is anything from -50 with wind chill to 100 degrees. If it’s not freezing outside , bugs are likely. Days or weeks of fog and rain are common as are days and weeks of sunshine. Understand and prepare , The Loft is a great way to be more comfortable in a camping style setting regardless what may be happening outdoors. There is Access to the outdoor hot shower during non freezing seasons, typically available May-November. The water is turned off at freeze up.

A room within a large barn offering rustic comfort and shelter from the elements for both yourself and your bike/s. A gravel driveway , easy to drive your bike/s right inside and stay a night or a few knowing all is safe and undercover with you. Not glamorous. There is a room with a queen bed with linens. Ready for a comfortable night. There is electricity. You have a space for your own outdoor campfire. We may also allow a tent to be set up either inside or out. In addition to the Queen size bed within the room, We provide a hammock inside and a cooler for you to use here. This area is within our private grounds. The property is home to a variety of animals.We are Located approximately 5 minutes away from the Bar Harbor Airport and the bridge to Mt Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Roughly 20 minutes to the ferry to Nova Scotia and 90 ish miles to the border of New Brunswick. Questions.? Call us . We created this space for motorcycles but we welcome those of you traveling by bicycle too. This is a safe dry place to spread out , dry out and relax before or after a day of riding. From November to April ( the probable months of freezing weather) this area may be inaccessible to vehicles and the outdoor shower will be turned off and unavailable. CALL in advance of booking.

Falling Asleep to the Wolves
Biker’s Bunkhouse
This was my second stay at the Biker’s Bunkhouse, and it was just as awesome as the first. I spent three nights in the cozy barn tucked close to the wolves, and it was incredible drifting off to the sound of their howls at night. Heather is an attentive host who makes sure you have everything you need. I slept great, felt completely relaxed, and can’t wait to come back.

Our only option for camping this close to acadia and last minute this time of yr. Straight forward to book and arrive. Stayed in front field area. Starry skies. Water was still on, able to use hose for our water needs (not below freezing at night). Fireban in effect due to local draught. Shower has 3 sides and no top. My only issue was price.

Sarah’s communication swift and clear. She accommodated a late ish in day request pleasantly. I appreciated the portable outhouse, dumpster, access to electricity even though I didn’t need it, water and fire pit. Would definitely go back again. Thanks!

We had a phenomenal time car camping under the stars here. Heather was a phenomenal host and saved (quite possibly MADE) our trip. A last minute booking led to one of our favorite memories together. We lit a fire and stargazed in her peaceful yard. Heather provided everything we needed to make the night unforgettable. Would definitely recommend you make staying here a priority. We can’t wait to come back.

Biker’s Bunkhouse
Heather’s land was beautiful. We had a great time. The atmosphere was perfect, close to everything, yet far enough to not feel like you’re in town. The accommodations were great, hospitality was exceptional, everyone was very personable and it was a fun experience! HIGHLY recommended place to visit!

What a great place! If you're very lucky (and dedicated), you might be able to book a place inside Acadia N.P. Or you could just stay here, be only 10 miles from Acadia and be surrounded by wolves (and other animals). Plus, Heather and BJ are absolutely lovely people. Highly recommend!

Stay at Bikers Bunkhouse!
Biker’s Bunkhouse
Heather was great and being surrounded by the animals was so cool! We stayed in the bikers bunkhouse for a few nights and it was nice. There was a clean portapotty, outdoor shower (not fully enclosed, bring bathing suits), and electricity in the cabin. We met several staff members and everyone was super nice, we did one of the tours as well and that was neat. We would recommend to those traveling in the area.

Over all a great camping trip. Heather was an amazing host and was very flexible and accommodating when my car broke down and we had to stay an extra day. I plan on going back next year but renting the cabin which was absolutely beautiful. The firewood on site is expensive but worth it. The $4-5 stuff you see everywhere up there gets burned through in less than an hour. The large bag from here lasted all night and then some.

A rustic setting that was simple but tasteful. The porta potty right next to the bunkhouse was clean and convenient. Wheeling our motorcycles into the barn was also cool.

Dreamy rustic getaway
Biker’s Bunkhouse
We had a wonderful experience at the Biker Bunkhouse. We were spoiled with our own private piece of the property behind two locked gates. The comfortable bed was lovely after a long day of exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor. Heather was so accommodating with all my extra last minute requests, I couldn't thank her enough for making our travel stress-free. We loved seeing all the animals on the farm. We were encouraged to feed the baby goats and observe the other animals from a safe distance. What a cool experience to see wolves and hear them howl at night. This place is cool for tours and campers!

Biker’s Bunkhouse
This place was exactly what we were looking for! It was a step up from camping, as the bunkhouse provided protection from the bugs, heat, and even had electricity to charge our phones. However, it was still rugged enough to feel like we were camping. The campsite even had a fire pit and they had wood for sale on the property. The hosts were very friendly and willing to talk to you about the animals. The place was very secure from both the animals and other people. The porta potty was very clean. The cabin room was actually nicer than the hotel we had stayed at the night before. The location was very nicely located between the park, bar harbor and town accommodations like gas or Walmart (in case you need to get food to cook). We would stay here again, and it was a great way to beat the crowds. Thank you for having us!!

Campsite was simple (no picnic table, bathroom is a porta potty), but got the job done, and is conveniently located near Acadia NP. It was also cool the hear the wolves howl at night.

I wish I had read the negative comments before booking this site. I booked a site, for 1 night, we had two cars (one with a car top tent, the other with our kayaks). We just needed a place to pop up our tent then make breakfast in the morning before packing up to leave. You have to call the day before to arrange meeting someone at the gate, which is a 12 foot high zombie proof chain link fence that encompasses the property. Inside is a parking lot, were showed the rutted muddy spot to tent. The only porta potty for the camp is well used and filthy. There’s a hose for water and you can use the sink attached to the back of the house to wash up. We were shown where to park the second car. In the morning we brought the second car over to the site to load up a few things. Heather came out of the house screaming, that we knew better, that I would cause her to loose her camping license for having two cars on that site. We apologized and my friend quickly moved her car back to the parking spot. Heather, in a rage ran up and blocked her from coming back to the site. She then stood in our site, in what seemed like a meth induced rant, not letting us pack and called the police to have us escorted off the property. The State Troopers were lovely and kept Heather away from us as we finished packing, Heather videoed us leaving and posted it on her facebook. If you want an awful ghetto experience, stay here. Look at the yelp reviews. This is not the first time. Seek help Heather.

Great location for exploring the Bar Harbor area without all the crowds and congestion. Locked gate provides security and access was hassle free with use of your own key. Minimal personnel contact for check in and check out. BJ and Heather were wonderful hosts, we will be returning soon and hopefully often!

Heather was very friendly and let us know about the northern lights the night of our stay. It was easy to check in and check out and everything was as described. This is a safe camp site behind a locked gate.

The space allotted to us was SO spacious, and listening to the wolves chitter and howl at night was so cool! Beautiful property and great proximity to Acadia. My group also rented the barn loft, and that was a really unique and comfortable space for my friends who didn’t have camping gear. Having access to a hot shower was a huge plus! Heather was so generous and understanding while I tried to wrangle multiple people together and iron out plans, and I really appreciated her flexibility! Would definitely recommend to a friend!

It was a chill spot to camp for a couple of nights. It's next to the highway so there are car sounds but it's secluded enough to where you don't feel like you're being watched. The bathroom was just a porta potty and I didn't try their outdoor shower. Worked well in the fall time! But there weren't any trees in our campsite so I'd imagine it gets quite toasty in the summer.

We had an incredible stay at Kisma Preserve, camping for four nights. It was in an ideal location just 25-30 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Heather and the staff were welcoming and friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable. When they say you’ll hear the wolves howling at night, they aren’t exaggerating! It was a thrill to see the wolves up close and hear their howls echo through the evening. Truly an unforgettable experience. Reading the negative reviews ( google)- some people do not understand that this is a sight to pitch your tent… there are facilities including running water, a hot outside shower, portapotty, and firewood on sight. If you are tent camping, it’s a great spot! If you need more facilities, go to a hotel.
