Planning a visit to Acadia National Park and looking for a unique place to stop on the way or searching for an all-natural real forest experience with free use of a kayak? Experience over 230 acres of solitude in the real Maine woods in a very private setting with your own Cabin with a screened porch-this is NOT a public campground. Enjoy the solitude of the private access Pond with kayak, paddles and PFD´s. This is a real Maine woods experience (all forms of wildlife and fauna included) totally private and off-grid, yet only minutes from all modern amenities. Only 5 minutes off of Route 1 and even less from Route 3 near Belfast. There is a loft for sleeping with a mattress pad and two cots available for sleeping comfort. Enjoy the PRIVACY-over 230 acres of varied terrain typical of the Maine woods including 1,200 feet of shoreline on the Tilden Pond. There is no public access to the 350-acre Tilden Pond. You can use the 10X14 Cabin which easily sleeps 4 or pitch a tent at the Shore or wherever you wish. The Woods are separated by the Alder Brook which splits the entire property and flows into the pond. The Woods are an amazing place to de-stress, boost mental health and improve overall well-being naturally. If you like to forage there is an abundance of fiddleheads, wild blueberries, black berries, raspberries and a multitude of mushrooms depending on the season. There is a kayak, paddles and pfd´s for free and a roll out pier for your use. The smallmouth bass fishery on the private access only Tilden pond is legendary. There are two firepits and free firewood, fire starters. lighters and a dry tinder box along with hygienic supplies (Camp toilet, Biodegradable personal waste bags, Biodegradable soap, Toilet paper, hand sanitizer and candles). The Cabin of the Woods is close to popular Mid-coast towns like Camden, Rockport and Rockland with all of their amenities while enjoying life in this off-grid all-natural and relaxing setting. A 15-minute drive to Belfast allows you to find great lobster fresh from a lobster pound or pick up a meal and enjoy it while watching the daily life in Belfast Harbor and waterfront or other spots like Searsport Harbor or Sears Island. Set up camp in the PRIVATE 230 acres of lush woods of Maine for a few nights or more! Stay in a new 10ft by 14ft cabin and sleep up on the loft with the mattress pad available or anywhere else that looks good to you. Your own air mattress works great, as does one of the two cots available or your own sleeping mat. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings (take in a midnight barred-owl party) and experience the nature, you can forage for many types of berries and mushrooms and explore 2 man made 1800´s era structures along the brook. For city life, take a 15 minute drive into the nearby town of Belfast. A scenic 1 hour drive can take you to Acadia National Park. Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond

I had a great time at Robert's cabin. I was very pleased with the necessities that were provided: camp chairs, a grille to set cookware on over the fire, and a tick removal kit were among the highlights. I had fun exploring the property and paddling Tilden Pond. I did get my 2WD car stuck in the mud on the way out, though, so coming in a 4WD vehicle would be best!

My kids and I had a great time spending a night here! Very private and quiet, lots of fish to be caught. Bob was great with directions and answering any questions.

Fresh powder, thick ice on the pond couldn't ask for anything better! Definitely recommend a snowmobile with significant snow! Absolutely beautiful out there.

I have left reviews before but this was my first time winter camping there. First , yes it was cold but if your prepared you should do just fine. I'm truly torn on if it's more beautiful in the summer or the winter! The fresh snow on the trees made for great scenery as we walked down to check out the pond. Although frozen, we choice to not press our luck lol. But I will be back for the beautiful fishing I know awaits. wildlife tracks everywhere! It was truly an experience and I look forward to another return!

Robert responded quickly to any questions I had. It turned out that I had to cancel one day ahead, and Robert was great about it. I expected to lose all I had paid, but that was not the case.

Beautiful pond and lots of privacy. Nice that the little cabin had things you might have forgotten to bring camping. Chairs, a lighter, trash bags etc. You have a lot of land and beautiful pond to yourself, unlike a campground. The host was really communicative and helpful with our stay!

The host bob was great to communicate with and has a beautiful camp on Tilden pond. The views of the woods is beautiful and the pond is good for fishing along with canoeing or kayaking. It’s a great place to reset and get off your PHONE! (Yes, there was phone service , lol) Definitely, will be coming back!

It’s as described, clean, organized. The cabin is basic no frills but seems to be brand new and worked for our group. We brought tents too but used the cabin to get out of the rain at times. The pond is pretty awesome, very quiet and not many houses around. Water was clean and nice for swimming but it’s shallow a good ways out so you want water shoes or to use a boat or tubes to enjoy it. We had two dogs with us and they ran free, without incident. The host Bob was very responsive and helpful. Nice place!

Total solitude. The cabin was nice, plenty of room for 4 adults and can accommodate more. We heard loons calling at dusk and they flew overhead. Super cool. The road is quite rough terrain but no problem with a 4x4 vehicle.

Beautiful, wooded land and a nice, well designed little cabin tucked away from it all. Be prepared for possible rain impacts on the camp road, and horseflies very happy to see people! Not at all fancy and we loved it. Stocked with many thoughtful amenities including flashlight, water, bug spray, compass, fire starter and first aid kit. Very hospitable, kind friendly host as well!
