The cabin and surrounding land was better than even expected. The pictures don't do this property justice. A literal slice of heaven with every convenience available. Paul has made this off-grid cabin feel so comfortable and welcoming. I can't wait to book this place again.

We loved our stay in the cabin. Secluded but easy to find. Very comfy bed. Paul accommodated us last second when other plans fell thru. Took a drive up to moosehead lake and did a beautiful hike! Definitely worth the price. Beautiful october foliage.

We had a great time staying at the cabin. Cabin is truly private, we did not see or hear another person the entire time we were there. We enjoyed sitting around the fire and making a short trek up the hill at night to see the full moon rise. Its a great place to do some stargazing. It is centrally located to a lot of outdoor activities. The camp is very rustic, there is no electricity or running water, Paul left plenty of water for our stay. There is cell phone service. There are gas lights and a gas stove for cooking. There is also plenty of wood for the woodstove or fire pit. Would definitely stay here again.

I absolutely loved my stay at Paul’s cabin! It was super private, quiet, and peaceful - exactly what I was looking for. There were also so many beautiful places in the area to explore. Paul has a binder providing these great places to visit with detailed directions on how to get there. You can even walk to the AT and a beautiful pond right from the cabin! Paul was an amazing host who provided everything I needed for an easy camping trip. He even brought over an area rug for my senior dog so he wouldn’t slip on the floor! That made a huge difference for my dog. He was much more comfortable in the cabin after that, which made us both very happy. There was plenty of water, firewood, kindling, and even fire starters and lanterns with extra batteries. The cooler he has for longer stays was great as well. Much better than the cooler I had brought. I was there for 4 nights and it kept everything cold with just one block of ice, which Paul suggested I get. I also loved the propane lights! They made the cabin so cozy at night. I had an amazing stay here and can’t wait to go back!

Paul was very quick to respond to all our questions. The cabin is cute and cozy. We liked that there were two toilets, even though one of them we had to dump out ourselves. We didn’t try out the shower. We liked that there were already some battery operated lanterns hanging in the rooms. We loved hanging out by the wood stove and playing scrabble. If I could change two things, I would put an updated bed frame and mattress and a good lock on the front door. Paul had a binder with information on what to do locally and when we needed more water he had it sent over ASAP on an ATV. There is beautiful star gazing just past the driveway. We had a really fun, chill time!

A wonderfully rustic, secluded camp near the AT 100 mile wilderness and 2 ponds. Propane lights and stove with water and firewood provided. A great place to get away from it all. Our dog loved roaming the property and hiking off leash.

This is our second time staying in the past 2 years. Really enjoy the location and amenities provided by Paul. The upgraded shower and toilet structure is a nice addition. We took advantage of the canoe at the North Pond. Really enjoy the private location and cabin. Paul is great!

100 Mile Wilderness Cabin
Paul's land is at the beginning of the 100 Mile Wilderness, and is within minutes proximity to some of the treasures of the Moosehead region. We were able to take day trips to epic hikes including Borestone Mountain (we rode our bikes there!), Mt Kineo, segments of the Appalachian Trail within 200 yds of the cabin, Big and Little Wilson Falls, and more. There are endless tote roads, logging roads, and 2 tracks that can be followed until exhaustion. We ate at the world class fine dining restaurant, and James Beard finalist restaurant in Monson called The Quarry, went to the annual Red Hotdog Festival in nearby Dexter, and bet on the horses at the Skowhegan State Fair. All in all, a great way to spend summer days!
Paul's place is admittedly rustic, but his home is right down the street, and his willingness to let us use his electricity, and fill water tanks (excellent water quality!), as well as providing wood and freezer packs when we needed them made it comfortable and pleasant. He even built a new, slick shower and composting toilet unit (separated) outside that made it way less "primitive" than we expected. A great month long stay!

We loved every minute we spent at the 100 Mile Wilderness camp! Paul is a fabulous host and provided recommendations on how to spend our time in the area. There was plenty of water, linens, kitchen utensils, firewood, etc. The area is remote which is exactly what I was looking for. The dogs enjoyed roaming around and hiking with us too. So quiet and peaceful. We saw frogs and loons at North Pond, hiked on the AT, and went to little and big Wilson Falls. It's truly a beautiful place and I hope to come back again. Thank you, Paul!

Paul is a great host. I had a lot of fun at his cabin. I did most of the things his welcome book recommends. A ten minute walk literally put me on the AT. Went north about 3 miles and found Little Wilson Falls. North Pond is about a fifteen walk from the cabin--I had it all to myself. Borestone Mountain is an excellent hike with awesome views. We really enjoyed getting off the grid and staying at Paul's cabin! Plenty of firewood and clean water, easy access to the AT and comfortable beds. We hiked Mt. Borestone, listened to the loons calling over North Pond and drove into Dexter to enjoy the public beach. A nice step up from tent camping, but removed from enough modern amenities to feel like a needed break from the tech world.

This cabin was a great find! A step above a rustic with the propane lights and beds with bedding and with the fire was very cost! Lots of nice hikes around connecting with the AT and other scenic spots (Wilson falls and North Pond). Paul was a great host and was attentive to our water and firewood needs. We’ll be back!

The cabin is true to the listing in that it is rustic. It's a VERY quiet setting, in the woods, a short distance from the Appalachian trail. A great place for anyone seeking solitude, an opportunity to be one with nature, or just a place to get away from the world for a bit.
That being said, it is very comfortable and well equipped.
Everything is clean and in good working order.
I would definitely stay here again!

We loved the privacy of the cabin. Within 20 feet of the cabin, we were on trail and into the 100 Mile Wilderness where it intersects with the Appalachian Trail. It was only a short walk to two beautiful ponds that have no houses or camps on them. It’s the perfect off grid experience. The propane lights provided ample heat for the time of year. We can’t wait to go back and light the wood stove in the Fall and/or Winter! It was great that we could bring our dog, Levi. He is afraid of everyone and everything and went right to our host Paul, the one and only time we saw him. He delivered us wood and we could’ve conversed with him for hours! The joy he gets from sharing nature and his slice of heaven was such a blessing!

We had the most incredible stay at this rental cabin near Moosehead Lake in Maine! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with the cabin nestled among the tall woods, offering a serene and picturesque setting. The privacy here was exceptional, making it the perfect escape. The cabin's amenities were not only functional but also added to the overall charm of the experience. We made great use of the cooler, keeping our drinks and snacks perfectly chilled for our adventures. The fully stocked fire pit was a highlight, providing us with cozy evenings under the starry sky. The propane lights added a rustic touch while ensuring we had a warm and well-lit atmosphere. The interior of the cabin was comfortable and cozy. What truly set this place apart was its seclusion while still being conveniently located near all the local sites. We were able to easily access the beauty and activities of Moosehead Lake and other local sites, all while enjoying the tranquility of our private cabin.
I must give a special shoutout to the host, Paul, whose exceptional hospitality and local knowledge enhanced our stay immensely. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and provided us with valuable tips on the best places to explore in the area. And the offer of a canoe to enjoy Lake Onawa provided a truly memorable and picturesque day. Couldn't recommend this place higher, 10/10. We can't wait to go back.

My kids and I loved it there. There were dishes, utensils, pots and pans, bedding, water for dishes, propane lamps. The dirt roads are bumpy to get there, so you might have a harder time in a sedan if it’s muddy out. It’s 500 feet from the Appalachian trail and 750 feet or so from a pond- there are no roads or obvious ways to get to them from the cabin, except for the ATV trail if you are curious. We were so excited to see black trumpet chanterelles growing all over the place. There’s a fire pit and a grill. Pretty nice for roughing it. My kids want to go back again next year. Paul was very attentive, made sure that we arrived and found the place okay.

This small cabin is in a beautiful spot, only a short hike away from the Appalachian trail and several beautiful lakes. My wife and I enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the fire pit and getting away from civilization for a few days. If you are ready to get away, this is a good spot to do it.

My wife, six year old daughter, and I stayed at the 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin for two night. We had a wonderful time. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. We would definitely visit again.

This was a perfect spot for a get-away.
Great location, with some great hiking close by. Was a perfect spot for a rainy day, with a covered porch, wood stove and comfy couch.
Highly recommend to someone that’s looking for a few steps above camping in the backwoods, but not so many steps that you forget where you’re at.

This little cabin is a slice of paradise! It is tucked into some beautiful woods and is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of life! Woods stove kept it nice and toasty! We also really enjoying a the fire ring outside. The best was the sound of rain drops hitting the roof. I would love to come back!
