Welcome to The Point: Camping and Kayaking – a peaceful, privately-owned retreat nestled on 17 scenic acres with 1/3 mile beach frontage along the beautiful Amite River in Clinton, Louisiana. Whether you’re here to relax by the water, explore nature, or embark on an outdoor adventure, The Point is your perfect getaway.
This hidden gem offers something for everyone — from cozy cabin stays to beach days, primitive camping, event hosting, and full-service kayaking trips.
What We Offer:
Cabins/Camp Lodging:
• Cabana del Rio – Sleeps 4 with a kitchenette and river views
• Twin Waters Camp – Sleeps 6, located on a private pond
• River’s Edge Cabin – Sleeps 4, full kitchen and deck with BBQ pit
• All cabins have outdoor grills.
Kayak Trips:
• Shuttle service provided to drop-off point upriver
• 2-hour minimum/ 5 mile float (return by sunset)
• All trips include kayak, paddle, life vest, and shuttle ride
Private Beach Access:
• Sandy/rock riverbank for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing.
• Great for families, kids, and day visitors
• Beach day passes available for non-overnight guests
Rock Hunting:
• A top spot for finding Louisiana agates, quartz, and other river treasures
• Best after a rain—great for families and collectors

The cabin sleeps up to 4 guests and features one queen bed and a queen sofa sleeper. It includes a kitchenette with basic essentials, a private bathroom with a shower, and a grill for outdoor cooking. Decorated with bright, beachy touches and island flair, it brings a tropical vibe to the heart of Louisiana.
What you can do here: • Kayaking: Rent a kayak or canoe and float the scenic Amite River. Tucked away on 17 private acres at The Point Camping and Kayaking in Clinton Louisiana, this cozy spot offers comfort, convenience, and direct access to outdoor adventures. The cabin sleeps four guests with one queen bed and a full-size sofa sleeper in one big open room. It also includes a full kitchen with all the basics, a private bathroom with a hot shower, and a deck overlooking the river with a barbecue pit and seating area.
Wake up to the sounds of birds and enjoy coffee with a view. Spend the day fishing from the bank or the floating dock or just relax by the water and watch the river go by. Guests have access to the private beach just down the path, perfect for swimming sunbathing or skipping rocks. The beach is also a favorite spot for rock hunters looking for agates and other treasures washed up by the river.
Kayaking is a highlight at River’s Edge. Guests can book a shuttle and kayak trip up the river and float back down to the property. Welcome to Twin Waters a peaceful pondside cabin at The Point Camping and Kayaking in Clinton Louisiana. Nestled between two scenic bodies of water this rustic retreat offers the perfect mix of comfort and outdoor adventure for families couples or small groups. Whether you are looking to relax fish paddle or simply escape into nature Twin Waters is your ideal getaway.
The cabin sleeps up to six guests comfortably. One bedroom features a king bed perfect for stretching out and getting a restful nights sleep. The second bedroom includes two sets of twin bunk beds making it a great setup for kids or friends traveling together. The space is cozy simple and designed to make you feel at home.
Inside the cabin you will find a full kitchen equipped with a refrigerator stove oven microwave coffee maker and basic cookware and dishes so you can prepare meals during your stay. The private bathroom features a tub and shower combo providing flexibility and comfort after a day outdoors. The open layout and natural light make the space warm and welcoming.
Step outside and enjoy your morning coffee on the porch while looking out over the quiet pond. Fish right off the edge of the water or just relax and soak in the sounds of nature.
