Todd's Place

· Cynthiana, Harrison, Kentucky
116 acres hosted by Michael M.
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
I purchased the property after my son (Todd) died in a car accident. It consists of 116 acres. Partly pasture but all explorable. Camping area is approximately 20 acres. Has several ponds, hay fields, rolling land -- a lot to explore. I do have a gambrel barn adjacent to the farm that was built in 1925 that you can see and have your pictures taken. Just a beautiful farm without being bothered. Little to no traffic on rural road. Some like to ride the road just before dusk to look at the deer. The farm has one mile of road frontage. Learn more about this land: Primitive camping and horseback riding welcome. Hay fields with some wooded areas, small ponds and a few trails to walk ,. Deer, turkey, plenty of wildlife viewing. Close to the road parking with campsites secluded. Ideal for a weekend getaway.

AMAZING campsite!! I highly recommend, it’s very isolated but not too hard to get to. My dog loved it!

Todd’s place has become really special for us! We live in the city and come to this spot as often as we can to escape and recharge. It is now our dog’s favorite place, as well as ours! 💜 it is nice to be so secluded and have so much land to explore. This place is an absolute gem.

Peaceful site
The site was very easy to get to even in snowy conditions! Lots of great noises from nature. Outhouse on site is always a bonus.

My partner and I were only able to get away for one night, but we were incredibly happy with Michael's site. We did have a little challenge with finding the correct spot--not due to the directions; the directions were clear and simple! What wasn't clear was whether I was in the right spot for me to begin following the directions. So, my advice would be, follow the directions even if you do not see tire tracks heading that way; that's what threw me off. Michael was quick to respond, and we got on track within minutes. Anyway, we had a hilltop site with plenty of space. If the weather had not been windy and rainy, we honestly would have loved every second of it. However, there were no trees next to the site to help reduce the wind (35 mph gusts), so our campfire and propane cooking stove suffered a bit. We took a couple of walks around the land, and it really was a very pretty space. We saw quite a bit of hunting equipment set up along our walk (tree stands, deer feeders, and trail cameras), which made us excited to see some deer. Sure enough, we saw two just about 100 yards away from us shortly after noticing the equipment which was a very fun experience. I really see us returning in the future, hopefully with some better weather. Thank you, Michael!

Just got back from a very relaxing long weekend! Michael went absolutely above and beyond as a host, and was quick to answer messages and questions! This was our first time booking through hipcamp, but if every stay is as easy and seamless as this one, it is going to be the only way we book from now on! I almost didn't want to return to the real world!
