I got a chance to camp on Susan and Larry's land May 11~16 and can't wait to go back. You truly get to camp right next to the river (as you can see in the attached video), with great views of the water, birds that fish it, and barges that travel it. The land is peaceful, and beautiful ...you can see in another video I uploaded how beautifully misty it gets the morning after a good rain.
The farm is home to many wonderful animals, and it was heartwarming to see how much the hosts care for them. I got to spend most of my time sitting quietly at camp, but every day I also took the time to visit the animals. Susan and Larry were gracious, down to earth, and helpful in every way. They have three farm dogs and took the time to formally introduce us. I've been at a Hipcamp before where I didn't get this kind of warm introduction and had to set up camp nervously while a strange dog barked and growled a little too close to me. I got to know and grow used to these dogs very quickly, including a very sweet old soul who spent a lot of time next to me whenever I went up to sit and watch the animals.
Things to know before you go: I have T-Mobile and didn't get much coverage in the area. It's quite spotty until about half an hour towards Brandenburg, best stop for gas and ice. Did not go out much except one trip to Forest Edge Winery (recommended). Wish I'd visited the Bernheim trails, forest giants, and the forest/arboretum. Next visit!

It’s big farm than I expected. There are goats, pigs, chickens also cute cat. Shower is available and they provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. It was very safe and hosts are very kind. Cell is not working that well but wifi is available near there house. Highly recommended!!

This property really was a piece of heaven on Earth! The views of the river were spectacular and the camping area was perfect. We were able to purchase fresh farm eggs which were delicious over our camp fire. We will definitely be back!! Thanks for an awesome stay!

This is a great place to camp. There is a close up and beautiful view of the Ohio river, just a few feet away. It's truly in the country with some neat farm animals around. The host was wonderful. I highly recommend this site.

This was my first Hipcamp experience. Susan was very helpful, and very gracious.
I absolutely loved the peace and quiet.
Watching the barges at night was the coolest thing I’ve seen in awhile.
I will definitely return here.

The farm is definitely off the beaten path, which was just what we were looking for. The campsite was right on the Ohio River and was fun to watch the barges go by. It was quiet and relaxing, just a bit warm when we were there (July after all).

We loved this place! The owners were so welcoming to our kids who wanted to stay and pet and play with the animals. They were kind and told us all about the land and some of the struggles that they have where they are located. The animals were all very sweet and we loved that we could order eggs and they were delicious! The farm is located near soo many fun places to go as a family. We went to Squire Boone Caves and also a large park at Hayswood Nature Reserve. The site we stayed in felt really private and it was between the fence to the roaming goats and pigs and right on the river. We all really loved it and wished we could have stayed longer, though, I’m not sure the animals wanted us much longer. We would certainly come again!

It's a great, little farm, far away from civilization. We couldn't have asked for a nicer spot. The animals are fun, Susan is wonderful, and it's so easy to relax here. We'll definitely be coming back with friends.

Great view of the river and we loved being right by the animals. The outhouse was well kept and our actual spot was very nice. We appreciated the free firewood, grate and tripod available for cooking. Also the farm fresh eggs were delicious.

We tent camped on Susan’s land. We loved the animals and the views sitting on the river. River was low enough you could walk the sand and it was a great quick getaway! Facilities are great!

We've stayed here a few times, and it has become a favorite for an easy, beautiful & peaceful camping getaway. Our dog loves it too! We enjoy the feeling of being in the woods while practically at the riverbank, wood is waiting for us and we can even order a dozen fresh eggs. Susan and Larry are always great to visit with. HIGHLY recommend!

We loved camping here. Beautiful part of Kentucky, along the Ohio River. Lots of space to spread out. Our tent was right next to the fields where the goats and pigs are kept. When using the outdoor shower, chickens wander in and out. A rooster ensured we woke to see sunrise.
Super host Susan was super! Sold us some fresh chicken and quail eggs. Let us take as much firewood as we desired. And when our dachshund got into some, Susan brought out medicine to help the dog. Highly recommend, for a unique experience.

We enjoyed our camping trip at Moonlight Grove! Our friends joined us for our camp out and the kids loved playing in the sand by the river, seeing the goats and other animals, and picking strawberries! The site fit our tents comfortably and the fire ring had wood stacked nearby. Beautiful place! Can’t wait to go again. *also, don’t use waze for directions to this site; we used google maps and found it easily with the address and directions, but our friends used waze and it took them to another location!

We absolutely loved the views of the River and nature! The whole place felt very peaceful and relaxing! The hosts were very friendly and helpful when needed! Their farm was very nice with the animals and their garden was awesome! I would highly recommend anyone wanting to get away for a relaxing and peaceful weekend to checkout Moonlight Grove Farm! You won’t be disappointed! Looking forward to a return visit sometime in the spring!

Spent two nights at the farm. We had a wonderful spot next to the Ohio river in our camper trailer. Susan and Larry were great hosts. They were very open to sharing their farm while also being respectful of our privacy. Enjoyed seeing all their farm animals and learning about them. Sunrises and sunsets where awesome. Had a nice fire by the water with stars and moon glow.
