Horse camp.
We enjoyed our stay. The horses were very tame and friendly. The view was beautiful and Tonya and her family were very nice. We would definitely recommend it.

Unique Experience
This was our first Hipcamp experience and it didn’t disappoint. We had a beautiful view of Mammoth Cave NP and what could be better than waking up to horses galloping past your campsite. We would definitely go back. If you are thinking of visiting Mammoth Cave NP this is a great spot. Close to the park, private and with the bonus of being able to hang out with some friendly horses and dogs.

Just the get away we needed!
Myself and four friends stayed here for a weekend and had an amazing time! We were also able to purchase wood so we didn’t need to bring any (very good wood I should add) The view from the top of the hill was beautiful and the horses and dogs were very friendly. I have never encountered so many horses in my life, it was amazing. There is also a neighboring farm that has sheep so you can watch them run and play from the campsite as well. Would love to return again in the future, highly recommend!

Not private. Cool host/horses
Campsite at the top of the hill is nice and flat, firewood was waiting as regulated, the horses are kind and curious so that was such a fun element. Stargazing was incredible. I ended up cutting my stay short and host was kind enough to refund for the night.
What I wish I had known before going is that the hilltop camping spots sit directly across a road /clearly visible from the neighbors home. Not very private or secluded. I didn’t see ADA accessible sites, but I’m not sure where the other sites were located. The hilltop ones were somewhat close together, so if there is another camping you’re not getting that backcountry camping feeling with this spot.

AWESOME Experience
Tonya has the best setup. We camped in the field with her horses. ALL of the animals were so friendly, the dogs came and hung out with us while we were at our campsite & the horses were very interested in what we had going on too. Tonya was the best hostess - she sent out more firewood as soon as I asked if we could have more, she was very responsive & easy going. We also took the horses for a ride & she had so many cool facts/stories to share with us on our ride. The night sky in the field cannot be beat. The best view of the stars I have ever had in Kentucky! Highly recommend this place! 10/10

Wonderful farm country camping!
We loved our overnight tent camping at Dragonfly Ranch! Tonya was so kind and flexible when we wanted to change the date of our reservation due to weather. We drove in from the north and our kids loved the winding road and scenery - lots of farms and animals, even some horse-drawn buggies on a Sunday afternoon! The farm dogs are such a delight- so friendly and welcoming. The kids played with them as we set up camp. Tonya’s boys brought us a load of firewood and we enjoyed the sunset views from the top of the hill, and the sunrise also! We look forward to visiting more with the horses on our next, warmer stay! I’m sure we will be back next time we’re exploring Mammoth Cave. It was a beautiful 40-ish minute drive to the visitor’s center from there.

Camping with Horses- Loved It
We got there in the dark, so it was a bit tough finding our way to the camping spot, but it was a great experience overall. We parked in a pasture overlooking a wide vista of pasture and woodland. My kids loved the friendly dogs and the gentle horses. Strolling through the hilly pastures in the early morning with the grazing horses was really an unforgettable experience for a family from the city.
This farm is a good ways off the interstate, but worth the drive I'd say. Note that it's a quick drive to the boundary of Mammoth Caves NP, but it'll take 45min to an hour to get to the actual visitor center.

I loved camping on Tonyas land! She was amazing when we got there, her horses were roaming and so so beautiful, the landscape was beautiful and all and all just an amazing stay. HIGHLY recommend

This was such a cool and unique experience! The host, Tonya, was a great communicator and the location was excellent. Gets windy on top of the hill so be sure to bring warm clothes depending on the time of year. Great place overall!

Camping with Horses!
My daughter and I really enjoyed boon-docking in our teardrop trailer on the hill! Fantastic views, peaceful, and plenty of space. Just make sure everything is secure, it can get pretty windy! The hosts were very accommodating but I wish there would have been better communication. And though they do provide firewood, I would bring a bundle to start with. Overall, camping here was a wonderful experience and being able to get close to the horses made it that much more memorable!

Camping with horses and farm dogs
Great host and area! The horses and dogs are LOVELY!! All of the neighbors are very friendly and the sky is so beautiful here at night. Away from the busyness of the campgrounds but close to still get the feel. Tonya offered us Firewood and Sadie (the daughter) was helpful when Tonya wasn’t available. Excited to stay here again anytime I’m nearby💙🤍. Be prepared to walk for the faculties and be mindful of gates and fences

We loved camping at the Dragonfly Ranch! Waking up to horses grazing nearby was magical. The campsite was clean and flat - so setting up the tent was super easy. We arrived later than we wanted, but Tonya was kind and accommodating. The horses and dogs were friendly and sweet.

Beautiful sunrise and sunsets
What a unique place to camp! We were on top of a hill with views on all sides to the countryside. We got here just in time for sunset, which was beautiful, and made sure we got up early enough to see the sunrise as well. It didn’t disappoint. Our host was welcoming and made sure we were comfortable. The only down side was that the horses never came to visit! Highly recommend the spot.

Camping amongst the stars
Tonya was a great host, we had an amazing time with some of the best stargazing we have ever seen (up on the hill). The horses were such a bonus for us and our kiddos, Tonya and her boys were a great help, they brought firewood and were very attentive to our needs! If you stay, be prepared for many different animals sounds all night- we very much enjoyed this, but some may not.
Great location near Mammoth Cave, we will soon return!

Perfect for Stargazing
Tonya was a welcoming host. I appreciated the firewood and clean space. We enjoyed watching the horses and being greeted by her dogs. The property was easy to find and felt safe. It was the perfect spot to stay before a day of hiking in Mammoth Cave NP.

Magical stay w horses!
We loved our stay! Tonya was super responsive, kind, and welcoming. We woke up at sunrise to horses curiously checking out our camper van and I can only describe the encounter as magical. If you love horses and dogs, this place is not to be missed.

Tonya’s ranch was quite gorgeous and peaceful! I was really excited to see the horses as I’m a longtime equestrian and missing horses to me is the same as homesickness. There were so many young horses and the heard was quite colorful. Tanya was very accommodating and it was very peaceful in the patch that I set up my hammock. The rains came in pretty fast that night and I was real bummed about not setting up a fire, maybe next time. Thanks again

I loved tent camping on Tonya's property. It was a unique experience. It was so fun having horses walking around the property. Especially fun to wake up to them outside of your tent. There was even a baby horse that tolerated all of my hugs!

Beautiful campsite with animals
Easily one of the best camping experiences I've ever had. The spot was on a hill overlooking breathtaking sunrises/sunsets and gave a beautiful view of the stars. The horses hung out with us in the morning, and at night the dog became our best friend and sat by the campfire for hours (and slept next to our tent when we went to bed). Tonya was quick to respond to questions and helped guide us to the best spot possible. I can truly say this stay surpassed all expectations and highly recommend to anyone coming to see Mammoth Cave.
