Beautiful quiet camping spot
We loved tent camping on Ralph's property. His land is beautiful and the camping spots are very spacious. He was a very hospitable host and was very helpful. It was such a relaxing night and we definitely plan on coming back. Plus he has some minature horses and ponies that roam around which was fun to see and interact with. Wonderful stay and more than worth the money, I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

My family and I had a great time at this cabin! The owner got the heat going about an hour before our arrival to ensure it was warmed up for us which was nice, they also had wood for the firepit available for purchase. The next day we got driven around the beautiful property in an enclosed 4x4 which was very nice. Plan on staying again when in the area!

Peaceful, beautiful getaway
We had a tiny bit of trouble finding this spot but that was using the GPS coordinates on Google maps. Once you get in the area, definitely use Ralph's directions from the hipcamp confirmation to get you there. Ralph was super nice and showed us everything on the property. There was only one other couple there so we could choose from many sites. He even told us it was supposed to storm that night and we could use a cabin if we'd prefer. The property was peaceful and lovely. The animals were very friendly and made for a fun experience, even though the one miniature horse will definitely get into your food if you don't watch her. We did get in the creek a bit to cool off, which was nice. Our dog was welcome and had a great time also. Nice little spot if you're looking to get away from it all and especially if you're wanting to explore Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Forest.

Wonderful weekend!
What an absolute beautiful part of Kentucky! It was quiet, and Ralph left us alone except to bring us some wood and to give us a wonderful tour of the property that has some cool history. The showers weren’t working, so that was a bit of a bummer, but it was a wonderful weekend! Also, the animals roaming around was so fun.

The perfect spot to camp!
Ralph’s land is such an out of this world experience! His property is so beautiful! Ralph was an awesome host and we all can’t wait to come back! Truly a place for memories and all of his animals are so friendly and made it truly exciting! I would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back and actually stay since originally we were just looking for a spot to camp out for the night on our way to Tennessee. However after our one night stay we all fell in love with his property Ralph’s land is truly a gem and an amazing experience for all!

I stayed in the cabin. Basic and just what I wanted. AC, small fridge. Double bed platform is wood with no padding but I travel with my own cot, bag & pillow so it suited me fine. 2 toilets 50 yards away. I saw on the website showers are available but I didn’t look for them. Campsites are next to the creek. Miniature horses came to me like dogs wanting attention but when they realized I didn’t bring treats they snubbed me. Just basic accommodations in the beautiful mountains of Kentucky.

Ralph's land was a beautiful, quiet place to camp. We picked a spot in a small valley next to the creek, and there was a fire pit and picnic table. The wildflowers were lovely, and there were lots of places to explore. Our kids loved the creek and the animals (especially the friendly neighborhood dog). The toilets were at the entrance, a short walk up the hill. Ralph was a great host, and took us up the mountain to see the old graveyard and pond, and he delivered plenty of firewood for a small fee. No showers yet, but the creek has some swimming holes just right for cleaning up and cooling off. Overall a really pretty place and next time we're up in KY we'll be back!

Ralph’s land was beautiful! We really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of animals that pop up (mini horses and a stray dog that loved hanging at our site), so If you have allergies, let that be known. Ralph dug a hole for our campsite, as there were no pre made fire ring sites available Bht ir worked out great!

A magical weekend camping
Ralph’s land was magical! He was very helpful and friendly. He dug us a fire pit and gave us some wood. Next time we will come prepared with firewood. The horses and alpaca roam the field. The miniature ponies will try and steal your dinner, so keep an eye out. The stray hound dog was our best friend. The kids wanted to take him home. The creek running behind our site was a great spot to cool off when the weather got too hot. The toilets were a bit of a trek, so we didn’t use them much unless necessary. There was no shower at the time, so cleaned off in the creek. The location was really lovely and not too far from gas and stores. No service, so plan accordingly. We camped with our friends; 5 kids under 8 and our small dog. All the other campers on site were friendly and quiet.

Site 6 - Creekside Hideaway Tent Camping
Our family had a wonderful time on Ralph’s land. Even on Memorial Day weekend (when the local state park campground was packed), it was peaceful and secluded. The kids loved playing in the creek (bring swimsuits and/or extra clothes). The miniature horses were a bit nosey, but that’s okay. We loved waking up to watch the llamas grazing in the field. It was an easy drive to Red River Gorge hiking. My only word of caution is that the driveway to the campground is relatively steep and rough. Campers with large trailers may not be able to access the area, especially after the rain.

Appalachian Awesomeness!
Beautiful land out in the Kentucky Appalachian Mountains. Old coal mines ran the area and old camps are everywhere providing some awesome geologic formations. Vast land with amazing pastures. Great communication from Ralph. Great accomodations and we stayed in the tiny house and an extra fee but well worth it! Great trip to Eastern Kentucky!

Ralph’s land was beautiful and a joy to tent camp on. It was easy to get there with his directions and once we arrived he gave us a tour and helped us pick a spot. He set us up with a load of firewood and a picnic table upon request. The land was fantastic to hike around with paths running up the hills and the river running throughout. There were several other groups camping at the same time but it was very spread out and felt private. The sound of the river at night is a big bonus too. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone. Ralph was a great host and he has a special location.

Camping on the creek was so peaceful. Ralph gave us a tour of the property upon arrival, and brought us some firewood. There was plenty to collect in our camping area as well. We hiked up the creek and came across many spring ephemeral flowers and lots of native plants. It felt very private even though there were a couple other campers, which was great especially because we had our dogs with us. Thanks Ralph!

We took our tents and camped on Ralph’s land. It was beautiful and one of our favorite camping sites we have been at. Ralph was an amazing host and took us all around his land and kept us stocked on firewood for the whole weekend. The land was amazing with a beautiful creek running through the site and plenty of space for games, fires, tents, and whatever else you could want. We could not have asked for a better host. We had the best time!

Ralph has beautiful land with tons to explore. He gave us a tour in his side by side and told us the rich history of the property. 300 acres of land! Cabin had electricity. Tent sites were beautiful and secluded. Only 35 minutes from Red River Gorge. Ralph was accommodating and nice to talk to.

Cute Cabin on TONS of Land
This was the perfect little cabin for a few days of peace and quiet! Ralph was an amazing host who offered to meet us in town to show us the way to the property and even offered to take us around his acreage on his ATV. The cabin is very well insulated and lined with cedar to keep the bugs at bay. The bed platform was sturdy and could hold a Queen air mattress. The written directions were accurate and we had no trouble finding the place with them. The toilet was only 70 paces or so from the cabin (about what you’d expect to walk at a car camp site). There was a fridge, microwave and an amazing outdoor fire place. The land really stole the show with rivers, valleys and rock formations to explore. Ralph was located just up the hill from cabin but respected our privacy while still making himself available to help with anything we needed (like bringing down a heater and extra fire wood on our chilly nights). Plenty of outlets in the cabin for phone chargers, etc. Highly recommend this property and host! We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely escape
Creekside Hideaway is the perfect spot for visitng the gorge without being smothered by the typical tourists and traffic. Its a lovely secluded spot, just a quick 20-30 minute drive to all the best trailheads and has some of its own beautiful hiking and foraging opportunities on its 300 acres. I managed to find a bit of chicken of the woods and fatwood for our fire after just a few minutes of wandering. I brought my husband and son down for a mini camping trip, while I am an experienced camper and hiker, neither of them are big fans of the outdoors. Ralph was kind enough to set us up with a picnic table and deliver firewood at the appropriate intervals, the table and outhouse gave them just enough comfort to keep the whining to a minimum and the ponies, hound and alpacas kept them entertained. Will for sure be coming back solo soon to enjoy the area a little more indepth on my own!

Amazing get away spot!!!
We loved everything about this place. The creek, the spot, the shade. And the owner was amazing as well. He gave our family a tour of the property and told us all the unique history that was spread through out the whole place. I was even able to catch some fish in the creek as well. Our kids loved the freedom that was offered. We will definitely be back with friends and family.
