It sits right next to the water access common (public) area. Its lovely tree canopy provides adequate shade and makes for a nice hammock spot. It offers a lovely view of the Cumberland River, sit and enjoy the lovely sounds and smells that mother nature has to offer. Kayak, canoe, fish, wade, swim, relax and let the world pass you bye from this cherished little spot. Please be sure to read/review listing thoroughly from start to finish, review all the details, review our cancellation policy and be sure that primitive Riverside camping is for you . You must cancel/reschedule seven days prior to your check-in to receive a refund. Beyond that no refund or rain check will be offered . Primitive Riverside camping is hit or miss in regards to weather and in the event of inclement weather you’re going to experience water, mud, wet, sand, elevated river levels, all of which to be expected while choosing to primitive camp Riverside and needs to be considered carefully.
Clayton Geneva is located right on the Cumberland River. While you’re not out on the trails you can take a swim, fish, canoe....Or just kick the boots off and relax along the sandy shaded river bank. Minutes from Downtown Williamsburg, home to the mint gaming hall, Kentucky, splash, water, park, Cumberland college, many restaurants and other attractions to enjoy. We are approximately 25 minutes from Cumberland Falls, which host miles of hiking trails. Yahoo falls, Eagle Falls, dog slaughter falls are also just a few of the other waterfall features to visit while you’re in the area. Clayton Geneva memorial campground is located directly on the KAT Kentucky Adventure Tour, just off of the copperhead trail in about 30 minutes from Sterns and the big south fork railroad. Just too many great things to list.
The driveway runs behind the site which also serves as the trail to the public common water access area.
Showers, flushing toilet, WiFi, vending machines, firewood, river tubes are all available on site. Do you take note that the site is the furthest from amenities as it is the last site.
Trading sites is not permitted, even in the event of inclement weather. These campsites are on the river, one must assume that there will be some moisture, damp conditions and wet grounds when booking a site on a riverbank. If you’d like to change your site upon arrival you are welcome to check availability and book another site for the same amount of days, the same calendar dates and you will be refunded for your original site. If there is not another site available then switching sites would not be an option.
