After living in the country, I know how peaceful it can be. So, being so close to the city and having this space that is secluded and peaceful, it seemed only fair to share it with someone who is interested in the same thing. You are welcome to walk the farm and see the animals, please do not feed the animals or enter their stalls or pens without permission and the presence of our staff. Staff does live on the farm, we do lock gates at night, you can have access to come and go at any time. If you need gates unlocked, we are just a phone call away. When checking in, please confirm your location! Camping at the horse farm The Circle of Trees Secluded by the city Please note we do have LGD on the farm, and they do visit. They are friendly and used to people. There are farm animals and wild animals on our sites. All Dogs are required to be current on vaccinations and kept on a leash at all times. You are welcome to walk the farm and see the animals, please do not feed the animals or enter their stalls or pens without permission and in the presence of our staff.

Pitch your tent,  inside our circle of tees,  Secluded but next to the city.  Lawn area is mowed, acres of trees and underbrush.  Make arrangements to go horseback riding right across the street!  Walk the trails and visit with nature and enjoy a quite time yet not far from the city. The creek on our land runs wild at times of high rainfall and can be quite low in drought.    You may hike into the trees and pitch a tent inside the circle of trees lined with firewood.  We kindly ask that all outdoor campers, backpackers and “Yurt-ers” bring their own camping supplies. Please only start fires in designated fire pits and not at all during drought periods or burn bans. All fires must be COMPLETELY extinguished upon leaving the site. A shovel will be provided and we ask that you do not leave it in the woods. Need ideas of things to do in Wichita-Visit Botanic, Cowtown, Sedgwick County Zoo, visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Allen house, Ulrich Museum, Kansas Aviation Museum, Great Plains Nature Center, Exploration Place and the list goes on and on! Site #1   is a primitive site with no hookups.  Best for tents. You are not able to drive completely up to it. Site #2  is a primitive site with no hookups.  It is located inside a circle of trees, along the tree line and next to a metal out building. Water is available.

Pitch your tent,  10 acres with a large pond.  Secluded but next to the city.  Lawn area is mowed, acres of trees and underbrush.  The pond is great for fishing.  Make arrangements to go horseback riding right across the street!  Walk the trails and visit with nature and enjoy a quite time yet not far from the city. The creek on our land runs wild at times of high rainfall and can be quite low in drought.  The camping sites #1 & #2  are unimproved and can be a wild or tame as you choose.  You may hike into the trees and find a spot or set up in the yard close to the house. Please note if you are near the house you are closer to the road.   Just let us know what you prefer. We kindly ask that all outdoor campers, backpackers and “Yurt-ers” bring their own camping supplies. Bring your RV, camper or tent and stay awhile! These sites have electricity!! Enjoy peaceful evenings on our farm watch the sunset or if you prefer watch the sunrise. Chickens run around, horses graze, and a few goats and cows line our pens and pastures. We are a busy horse farm during the day, training horses, teaching riders and caring for horses. If you like, arrangements can be made for a horseback ride.  If you like to fish arrangements can be made to go fishing in the pond located at the back of the pasture.  Take a leisurely stroll around the farm enjoying the animals.   Site #1 has 50 amp hookups.  It is located close to the barn. Site #2 has a 30 amp hook-up.  It is located close to the barn. We now have a washer and dryer available for our guests staying 5 nights or more.  A toilet is also available. 4th of July, you can get a great view of the area's fireworks on the 4th of July--we do not allow fireworks on the farm.

Bring your RV, camper, or tent, and stay awhile! These sites have electricity!! Enjoy peaceful evenings on our farm and watch the sunset or if you prefer watch the sunrise. Site 1 - Camping @ a Horse Farm
Cheryl gave us the option to switch to site 2 because our hook-ups are on the Driver's side. We had trouble getting level in site 1 due to the recent rains that made the ground very soft, so in the end we stayed in Site 2. Site 1 has a beautiful pasture view and nearby playground, and Site 2 has a fun view of the beautiful horses. You can't go wrong with either site. There are also dogs, roosters, turkeys, and goats nearby. The cacophony of farm sounds didn't bother us, but warrant mentioning in case potential guests reading this review are sensitive to noise. There is also an Air Force base nearby, but I barely noticed it. The resident dogs are free-roaming, but they are friendly. My dog isn't generally a fan of other dogs, and the resident doggies were not a problem for us. Site 2 has full hook-ups, and we didn't need any leveling blocks at all. We enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated the flexibility to switch sites at the last minute. Even with the significant rain, the ground drained well around the site and the driveways. We had no trouble walking our dog or pulling the trailer in and out. We love the Hipcamp experience a thousand times more than RV parks. We are so grateful that owners like Cheryl host RVers.

The Horse Farm is the perfect Hipcamp! It is easy to find and has the privacy that we love. Cheryl is such a kind host. We hope we can stay there again anytime we are close.

I came in right as it was about to storm so Cheryl let me set up camp in the barn. Wish I could have seen the planned site , but I am very grateful I got to stay dry!

Really muddy getting back into the site. Gravel road. Also, the GPS sent me to an address about 3 miles away. But on the positive side, they waited for us even though we were quite late.

What a wonderful place to camp! The space was a perfect fit for our 23' trailer and TV. The dogs were fun to pet and play with. It was great to walk around the farm and see all the horses, fainting goats, and chickens. Can't wait to come back!

We loved our experience at this horse farm. The folks were friendly and the area was open for us to truly see and experience the horses, goats, chickens and the dogs. By far, Vern, the youngest Great Pyrenees, was the best. He guarded us all night and can’t wait for the next time we pass through.

Beautiful campground site with many animals to look at: goats, horses, chickens. We arrive in the late afternoon and was welcomed by such great staff. Their livestock dogs are so kind and gentle. My son sat next the one and played with his dinosaurs while the dog just laid there and watched. They had a small kids play area as well. Farm eggs were great! Thank you and if ever in area again I would definitely go back!

Cheryl’s hip camp was conveniently located near highway and easy to find. She communicated quickly about any arrangements. The bathrooms were clean and there was a nice area for kids to play on swings. Would stay over again.

We were passing thru the area on a road trip and found this farm. What a great stay. The property is beautiful and well maintained and clean considering it’s a farm. We when on a tour with Katie who was very knowledgeable about the animals and very friendly. We visited dozens of horses. We saw a bunch of goats, a pig, turkey, chickens, and a donkey. Flat surface to park. Very peaceful. Beautiful sunset. RV hookups. Bathroom near the camp spot. It was a great overnight stay!

We had a great experience staying on Cheryl’s land! Cheryl was extremely accommodating. We got caught in multiple adverse weather situations making us very late. Cheryl had no problem with our very delayed arrival time. The spot was easy to level and get comfortable in. We enjoyed a walk around the farm telling all the horses good morning before heading off for the next leg of our journey. Our morning pancakes were made with delicious fresh eggs. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

We booked this site late in the day and got approved within 15 mins. Then, showed up around 9pm and they sent someone over to show us our spot and make sure we were all set. This place rocks! There are Great Paranyese pups running around freely so if your dogs have an issue with that, I wouldn’t recommend but otherwise - highly recommend! Thank you for a great stay!

What a sweet spot! It is quiet and peaceful and safe, and quite private overnight. I wish I had time to take a tour as the horse dance looks like they have many interesting things going on.

If you’re looking for a lovely farm experience, this is the place! Cheryl was responsive and kind, and I really enjoyed the tour with Courtney and learning more about the animals. Easy drive to the nearby town of Derby which has all the essentials. Would visit again!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to camp due to impending tornado warnings, but the host promptly approved a refund and I would gladly stay there again! The property looked absolutely beautiful and I really wished I could have stayed. Next time!

This stay was a perfect spot for our 30ft rig! Easy to park, greeted by Cheryl and shown to our spot, explanation of everything and the eggs were delicious the next morning! No issues with the 30 amp power, water, or dumping process, and all the animals were a bonus! Beautiful sunset view over the horse pens, and getting to pet the mini bull was the cherry on top! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique stay! Cheryl and the staff were friendly, helpful and quiet!

Just a simple place to park and do your work. The only thing I would like to see it the weeds killed out as I usually travel with my dogs and some were tall.
