There is 20 acres with Backbone Golf Course on the east and Backbone State Park on the South. There is 10 acres of biomass grass (Miscanthus) and the rest is woods and homestead. Prairie is to the west and south, driftless to the north and east where the glacier didn't go. Learn more about this land: There is a golf course with a club house next door, a state park with hiking and trout fishing is also next to the property. The sunsets are beautiful and the location is quiet. The Edge of Driftless

This is a quiet off the beaten path respite. Campsites are shaded with water and electric. Jim and Sharon shared apples and pears from their trees and offered information for the area We rode bikes around Backbone State Park which is close by and drive up to Pikes Peak State Park to enjoy the view of the Mississippi River.

Wonderful Property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Edge of stiffness. The property was absolutely lovely, John went over and above to help us with an extension cord and hose as we couldn't pull into the great spots on the grass due to the height of our 5th wheel and the beautiful trees. John welcomed us and we enjoyed some great conversations upon or arrival. The State Park next door was amazing.

Peaceful setting!

Wonderful hosts and such a peaceful property. James went above and beyond to answer questions and share suggestions for sightseeing. The campsite is on grass and very level. Very quiet and peaceful. Good AT&T and verizon signal. Power and water are excellent. I found Oelwein’s city campground to have the closest dump station (25 min) if heading west but Manchester has several options for those heading east or south. Would stay again!

Great place and great people

Great host, and fantastic place to stay. The state park is super close and well worth seeing. There is a nice bathroom, shower, and kitchen available that's all well maintained. I'd absolutely stay again if I was on my way through.
