We live off of a gorgeous winding tree lined road between Knightstown and Carthage. Our property has several options for you to tent camp or we can accommodate large RVs. Electric will be supplied via extension cord and we can provide well water to fill your tank or a hose from our pump for you to use as needed. We own 10 acres with a pasture of wild flowers, chickens, and several varieties of trees. The surrounding 100 acres along Big Blue River is owned by our family and available for your enjoyment. Kayaking, hiking, bird watching, swimming and just relaxing! We hope we can be a quiet spot for your travels thru the midwest. We are 30 minutes from Indianapolis, 20 minutes to a gorgeous lake and mountain bike trail and Knightstown has several quaint shops and antique venues for you to enjoy! Please keep all animals on a leash or contained. We do live in the midst of cornfields and forest where racoons, opossums and our pets live. We have outdoor kitties Reginald is a big gray boy who will try to climb your leg if you stand still long enough! lol Abigail is our outdoor pooch and she does like to roam outside during the day. We also have a new to our farm rescued Great Pyreneese that is adjusting! She is in an enclosed pen behind our barn and should'nt cause you any trouble. You may hear her barking off and on as she adjusts to the new surroundings. If you need anything please let us know :D We are always ready to make your stay as comfortable as we can!

Primitive tent camping! We have several pastures that are perfect for campers and are far enough from our home that you will have some privacy to enjoy the wildlife that visits the woods behind us as well as the fields surrounding us! We also have a river front site that is available when the fields are clear. We designate all campsites but will accomodate within reason when we can :D We can provide gear for an additional fee as well as kayaks if you are interested in a trip down the river! Sites DO NOT include fire pits, porta potties or running water. We can show you where to have a fire on your site that is safe for you, other campers and the property and where the hose is for our well if you need water. Campers are responsible for leaving their site the same as when they arrived. This includes removal and disposal of all trash and personal waste.

Park your travel trailer or RV in our little grove of treesfor maximum privacy, in our front pasture for easy access or in the shade of a huge oak tree facing our meadow. We welcome all campers and can accommodate a variety of styles of camping! These sites are specifically large enough for you to get in and out of easily and will accommodate most sizes. These sites do not have access to water or electric. Please let us know if you would like to have a fire at your site and we will mark it so that it is safe for you as well as other campers.

These sites are located in an easily accessible area of our farm. We can direct you to water from our well and will have either an extension cord for you to hook up your electric or a site w an electric panel. Your view will depend on the site but will either face our open pasture or located by our deck w a separate step and its own landscaping. Everyone camping will have access to our grill and a section of our front deck reserved for campers.

Vincent VanGo - 1976 VW Camper Bus!

Our super fun VW bus is now set up to share with other campers! You will have full access to water via our well and electric. Some of the perks of camping w Vincent are ... Electric coffee pot w filters and a starter coffee set up! Bedding includes 2 regular size pillows and several throw pillows and a quilt/comforter. We can set up a few special things depending on weather! Ask for those perks... You will also have full access directly behind Vincent to a fire pit, seating area and gas grill! We want you to enjoy him as much as we have for as long as he is here to share. Soon we will have his pesky rear axle replaced and he will be on the road again so now is your chance to live like a HIPPY!! :D

Tina and Ron are awesome hosts with a great location - just far enough off the beaten path, but still convenient for travelers passing through for one night on a road trip. I was a same day reservation and communication was top notch. I knew before I arrived that I had made the right choice. Ron met me upon my arrival and directed me to my site. Had a wonderful night’s sleep in a peaceful location. I will definitely stay here again when I am passing through this part of Indiana. Thanks for a great stay!

Wry beautiful property. Tina gave a warm welcome. She even gave me directions when Apple Maps left me hanging 😁. Word of advice use google maps or Waze. I enjoyed my stay and will return next year to explore more of the property!

Nice quiet place - until sunup when the chickens start to squawking. But really that’s part of the attraction. Site was nice with a fire ring and a relaxing view. Once dark the fireflies came out and it was really cool. The trip from the highway to Tina’s was interesting in itself and showed us a part of Indiana we didn’t know existed. We stopped for a quick overnight on our way west and it worked perfect for us.

Stopped for the night on our road trip at Tinas. Although on a road trip like many we only spent one night when we arrived we were met by very helpful hosts who helped us get set up for the night. It was a quit and safe location and we were happy to rest for the evening.

Loved it. Nice&cozy outside of town but they did have a dog that was still adjusting and you do get woke up by chickens I'm the morning other but I still loved it nice little getaway.

I loved the set up and was able to pull right up to my tent. They had a dog walk are with disposable bags which was nice for anyone with dogs. They also had a trash can for garbage so I didn't have to worry about it.

I loved camping on Tina’s land for the eclipse-directly in the path of totality. When I booked , the site mentioned there were only 2 places to camp on her site. Well, we got there and there were many more-bc of the eclipse. Tina and her husband made it so comfortable for all!!!! They put us (the biggest RV) in a perfect out of the way site. Tina and Ron rode around in their golf cart making sure all were comfortable. In the morning I took a walk-and liter did I know I was walking in a neighbors field-they came and fetched me with the cart and took me to their wooded area for preeclipse birdwatching. I love them!!!!

Wide open space in rural area. Camped for Eclipse of April 8th, and was perfect. Many other campers including dogs, but didn't feel crowded. The hosts could not have been more accommodating! Great experience.

Tina and Ron's spot was just right for our eclipse weekend. This was my first time to book on Hipcamp, and they made it so easy with great communication before, meeting us at check-in, etc. Their primitive sites (on this particular weekend) were staked out very well, with clear markings between sites and plenty of room for our small group to spread out, but still close enough to neighbors to get to know other people if we chose. They were available anytime for questions but not at all intrusive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend their spot anytime you'd like a spot to pitch a tent, light a fire, and get away in the Carthage/Knightstown area.

Wonderful hosts, perfect spot to view the eclipse. Tina and Ronnie have obviously put in a ton of work to make their land into great campsites. Tina and Ronnie were very attentive and made multiple rounds to make sure everyone was set and comfortable. 10/10, Hope to come back and float the river one day!

Tent camping at the Rusty Plow during the solar eclipse was a blast! Tina and Ronnie are great hosts. They accommodated our large camping group with little issues. Ronnie had no problem running my kids out to the river in the golf cart to go fishing. Loved talking to both of them! Great down to earth and relaxing couple. If I get a chance to stay again, when they're not so busy, I definitely want to check out their VW bus!

Had planned on staying for the whole eclipse, but only ended up staying the night they were wonderful host, very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my time on their property and nearby towns

Lovely stay and perfect place to stop on our drive west. Short drive of I-70. Great hosts. Super friendly and showed us around their farm. And we got to see some awesome Fancy chickens!
