Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. We do provide a large trash bin near the porta potties for trash disposal. DO NOT throw trash into fire pits or burn barrels in the woods. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you CANNOT drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintenance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). This site is great if you are camping in a van, small pop-up, car or truck. This is a flat spot in a shaded area in a large meadow. There is a gravel drive that leads to this spot, and the site is on grass (you will be parked on grassy ground. Please consider this in the event of rain, as the ground may be soft. If the ground is saturated and not suitable for parking, an alternative will be to stay parked on the gravel drive). This site is ideal if you would like to camp/sleep inside your car, truck or van. This is the only site you can drive onto. NO campers or RVs allowed, just vehicle parking for a tent site, or a camper van, or small pop-ups. There is no electricity or water hookups here. (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) site in the case of property maintennance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc) To reach the Meadow site: as you drive down the gravel drive to the woods, before you reach then end, you will see a small wooden sign, and will veer off the gravel drive to your left to drive in the grass to a pull through site. Our Cabin site is a rustic cabin overlooking a creek. The perfect chance to experience nature in comfort. Our cabin has one queen loft and one twin loft that are accessible by ladder. There is a futon couch downstairs that can fold into a bed. You can watch tv, and there are electric and battery lamps. While there is no running water, there is water dispenser with fresh water, and a sink that drains to outside. There is a wood burning stove to keep you warm in the winter. Plenty of windows allow for natural sunlight. 5 screened windows open to allow fresh air, and there is a fan to keep you cool in the summer. (Please note there is not an air conditioner) Front porch and back deck allow opportunities to sit outside and relax There is a portapotty a short walk away, and a bathrooom with flush toilet and outdoor hot shower a longer walk away. Provided in cabin: queen and twin lofts are fully made with bedding. Sheets and comforter are provided for the futon. Kitchen stocked with tea kettle, paper plates, disposable cups and utensils, paper towels, trashbags. Battery operated Water dispenser for sink for running water. electric and battery operated lamps and fan. 5 screened windows with blinds. Please note there is no Air Conditioner. Screened windows and fans provided

Great spot to stay, even camps that are okay when the river is flooded! Host was great, the space was peaceful and VERY private since I was the only one there, if it were full it might be a little crowded depending on if each site is maxed out, but very nice, would come again if I was in Indiana more often the the Hailey comet coming by

Its not clean enough for having dogs my dog stepped on glass and cut his toe open pretty bad had to take to vet next morning and get it glued shut. If I didnt have dogs it would have been ok I suppose. But the place is pretty small couldnt shake the feeling of sleeping in someones back yard because it is literally that. Lots of traffic noise at night. I'd rather go to chain o lakes and spend $16 on a site . This place Definitely isnt worth $40 a night I really wish it had been. The owner was kind though and gave detailed directions to the place so that was cool. Im not mad but definitely rating 2 of 5 stars. With as much money as the owners obviously have i think they could put more care into it for sure and Im not trying to be shitty just super honest for any dog owners thinking of staying.

Loved this place. Got there at night. Went for a walk and noticed some disc golf baskets. Which made me love it even more. Small little course but could be an attraction. The camping site was beautiful. Host was amazing

We enjoyed staying here - Marla was so kind and flexible. She allowed us to switch from campsite 3 to 6, a bit more space. The bathroom was well kept, the hammocks were lovely to hang out it, and we enjoyed the opportunity to rent out the pool. All and all a great experience!

super dark and muddy, couldn't find camp site for a hour, had to carry camp gear to the spot with provided wagons with flat tires, after getting tent setup the police showed up thinking we were homeless people I guess, manager was there we had messed up dates and were there one night early, they told me I should move to a different site because mine would flood, lots of trash around and tree down at camp, showed up next night around 9pm and everything pitch black again, we packed up our camp gear and left my kids were super scared of the eeriness of surging river and pitch dark woods. I asked for a full refund and they will not respond to me.

I’m relatively new to HipCamp (this was my second adventure). River camp was well thought out, with plenty of amenities. The hostess was very responsive. Maybe it was just my unlucky night, but the traffic noise (some local motorcyclists) was quite audible at the site.

This was a great place to stay while in FtWayne to visit my kids. I really enjoyed the camping space, being in the woods and having trails to walk. It was so helpful to have firewood at hand and a bathroom I could use. The shower was great! My time there was very peaceful. I actually extended my stay a day just to enjoy the camp site!

I had a beautiful experience at River Camp, Fort Wayne! It is a beautiful property with everything you need and also very primitive and secluded at the same time. it is a very nice place with a pool, a working bathroom a nice outdoor shower and the campsites are in the back in a very secluded area with power and lights. It is very cool! There are trails they go down to the river with frisbee golf course and everything. I had a wonderful experience staying there.!

This was my friend and I’s first time camping ever and we had a wonderful experience. The cabin was fully equipped with everything we might have needed during our stay and we felt very safe. The area was beautiful and I felt comfortable exploring alone anywhere. Such a peaceful experience and very beginner friendly. I definitely will be back!

A great site to camp, whether overnight coming off the river; or for a long weekend. We stayed here on one of the hottest weekends yet this year. The whole campground offers ample shade to keep you out of the sun, if preferred. Site 6 was massive and very close to the river. There was also a Frisby golf course that my son loved and we played probably a dozen time. The shower is nice and hot, too! Thanks for having us!

Our stay was better than i thought it would be. Hosts are amazing. They have pretty much everything you need for camping. Dry firewood, bug spray, outdoor chairs already at the campsites. Sites are kept very well kept up with. Site six was amazing huge campsite. We will definitely be back with out dogs

Marla was a great host! Very quick to respond. There is a disc golf course on the property as well, which was a plesant suprise. I feel like Marla has thought of everything to make this spot easily accessable and they really provide a lot for you.

Lots of privacy. Large lot #6. We had problem finding our spot to psrk cause sign was knocked down but it right nx to wzter jug n porta potties. Dog loved large space. Lots of spiders ( daddy long legs) everywhere. Had recently rained so unfortunately we didn't go kayaking. Water looked high n current strong. We stayed night of June 20th. I don't understand why but there were fireworks going off ( not in camp site but blocks away maybe) which freaked my dog out bad. Motorcycles racing, cars backfiring and more kept me n my kid from getting good night sleep..since we are light sleepers. Hubby slept like a bear. He loved it.. Would i come back? Yes. Probably in fall when less spiders and bring my ear plugs.

This is a great spot to camp, lots of options. Property abuts the St. Mary’s river and has a bench overlooking it. Great way to moss the time. The weather has been exceptional!

Cute, quaint and quiet spot to camp. Free firewood is a plus! My only recommendation would be to remove some of the older tattered furniture. But everything else was amazing. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

One night cabin getaway 🫶🏽

Marla was an amazing host from booking to arriving at location. She helped to upgrade me to the cabin as I wasn’t sure of the weather, then said hello & checked in w me when arriving. The cabin was a comfortable site with more than enough amenities. This was one of the most beautiful campgrounds I’ve ever been to - with wild but nurtured nature surrounding and a short walk to the river. I felt safe being there on my own. Highly recommend!
