We'd love to host you, your friends, and your pets on our 45 acres of woods and prairie! More about the location: 45 acres of combined farmland, prairie reserve, and forest--Pirate Woods is the perfect location for a getaway that still has nearby access to rural community amenities. This property is located 5 minutes from I-70 and 30-45 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. You can also access Knightstown via U.S. 40. Camp Areas: Pirate Woods campsites: are located in an 8 acre forest. There is a communal campfire ring with stocked woodpile for your use. Nearby are a few chairs for your use. You may create a fire ring at your own campsite if a fire ban is not in effect - but please be responsible. Sites 5 and 7 boast the best spots for hammock campers. Fauna: Pirate Woods is home to a variety of animals: great horned owls, deer, a mysterious grey wolf fox, chickens, pileated woodpeckers (and other varieties), finches, rose-breasted grosbeaks and more. Activities and Water: Feel free to walk, jog, or mountain bike the mowed paths. Bringing your own water is best. Though it's a short walk along the property to reach our back barn where there is a spigot available for your use (you may drink it from the tap, but purifying it recommended.) Town (Knightstown): A trip to town is only a 2 minute drive (or bike) away where you can grab Mexican or pub food at local restaurants when you don't feel like cooking over a fire. Additionally, the Blue River runs nearby and there is local access in town where you can rent kayaks. Other Town Highlights: 1. The Hoosier Gym (from the movie Hoosiers) 2. Farmers and Artisan market every Saturday morning June-July 3. Boondocks farm frisbee golf 4. Royal Highlands Golf (we're located on Greensboro Pike, the third (grassy) drive south of the golf course.)

Pirate Woods Site 2 is located in the Northeast portion of an 8 acre wooded area with a flat area on top of a hill to pitch your tent. This site has its own small fire ring. Pirate Woods Site 1 is about 100 yards away, but trees help seclude each site from the other. Extra firewood is kept steps away from the fire-pit. Nearby is an outhouse that is accessible to Campsite 1 and 2. Not more than 100 yards away and down a hill is a zip line near a downed tree which is an excellent place for kids to play. Feel free to walk or mountain bike along the mowed paths. There are an additional 2 fields (37 acres) with walking paths along the edges. Please don't step on an crops that have been planted (when in season). The main house sits a quarter mile away from the campsite. At the back of the house is weathered grey/white barn with a spigot at the northeast corner You're welcome to haul water from the spigot, but please do not cut across our neighbor's yard and instead take the paths around the East side of the fields.

Pirate Woods Site t is located in the southern valley of an 8 acre woods. Nearby: - Communal outhouse (150 yards, up a hill) - Communal fire-pit (250 yards up a hill). - Zip line and downed tree [kid play area; please provide supervision] (50 yards) Feel free to walk or mountain bike along the mowed paths. There are an additional 2 fields (37 acres) with walking paths along the edges. Please don't step on any crops that have been planted (when in season). The main house sits a quarter mile away from the campsite. At the back of the house is weathered grey/white barn with a spigot at the northeast corner You're welcome to haul water from the spigot, but please do not cut across our neighbor's yard and instead take the paths around the East side of the fields.

This area is along the treeline of an open area with a communal fire ring and large sitting rocks. Nearby: - communal outhouse (50 yards away) - zip line and downed tree to climb [kids play area] (100 yards away) Extra firewood is kept steps away from the fire-pit and is covered to keep dry. Feel free to walk or mountain bike along the mowed paths. There are an additional 2 fields (37 acres) with walking paths along the edges. Please don't step on any crops that have been planted (when in season). The main house sits a quarter mile away from the campsite. Pirate Woods - Site 8

I had a little bit of trouble finding the site (the grassy road is now gravel), but the hosts were communicative and helpful. Site was quiet, pit toilet was convenient, and I would stay again if I’m in the area. I heard gunshots in the far distance and I woke up around 3 am to ATV or dirtbike motors, FYI if you’re looking for complete silence.

Pirate Woods - Site 7

We had an awesome evening on Michelle's land! We were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves for the evening and were really about to explore and get a feel for the place. Michelle was both responsive on the app and prepared for our visit. Cannot say enough good things. We're already making plans to come back with our extended family.

Eclipse Camping - excellent!

This was such a great experience for the total eclipse! The property is lovely, the sites spacious and private. Michelle & Kyle were such gracious hosts, helping with arrival and always very responsive to our needs. Having firewood available was a real treat as well. We had a great time camping and eclipsing with the puppies, who loved the opportunity to run around. Highly recommend for tent camping, would absolutely come back!

Pirate Woods - Site 10 (Horse Hill)

I had contacted Michelle months before I arrived to their campsite we talked about the solar eclipe and how I had anticipated camping on their beautiful campsite which was located on a hill for perfect viewing of the solar eclipse. ( I'm a photographer) When I arrived I was greeted with their solar eclipe package including solar glasses her mothers homemade jam ( which was gone by the time I left, delicious!) I was given the opportunity to change to another campsite when the campsite I orginally had chosen was less than favorable for eclipse viewing (which was gracious on their part!) The wooded area at the top of the hill was teeming with songbirds and my favorite of all birds OWLS! The land is beautiful! all other campers respected campers edicate. I have always been very self sufficent when camping so if you come prepared you should have a wonderfull experience like I did. We were all blessed with perfect bright sunny weather ( In april!!) and the solar eclipe was enjoyed by all those attending. I had audio recorded the eclipse and you can hear the local residents in neighboring farms around the campsite yelling in wonder and delight at the most spiritual mind bending perfect eclipse ever!! I wont be alive for the next solar eclipse so this was special beyond belief and all because of Michelle and her management style and gracious outpouring of kindness. Thanks to all

Wonderful campsite with gracious hosts! The area was nice and secluded with pristine mowed areas and a great fire place. Loved pirate woods and a cute well stocked outhouse. Came by on a cross country bicycle tour and had a relaxing stay! Cheers
