Also residing on the farm are a flock of chickens, several goats. The newest addition to the farm is a pair of small breed Kune Kune pigs! If you want to, you can help with the daily chores of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. After that, you can explore the big red barn that was selected as one of the top-ten Bicentennial barns in the state. Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm. Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves. Pick up some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens! Heritage Farm has several options for overnight lodging. One of the most popular places to stay is in our authentic 1850's log cabin. And it's certainly special to us as well. The cabin represents a valued part of our heritage. It reminds us every day of our agricultural roots, solid values and the importance of faith and family. This authentic 1850's log cabin provides a comfortable retreat from your busy lifestyle and allows you access to a beautiful Midwest alpaca farm. The cabin has a large sleeping room upstairs with 2 double beds and 2 twin beds. We allow a maximum of 6 people in the cabin, but up to nine additional people can stay for $10 per night on the floor or in tents (you provide) outside. The upstairs is cooled by a portable air conditioner. The downstairs is not air conditioned, but fans are provided. Heritage Farm is a working alpaca farm with over 50 alpacas you can watch and interact with. Make friends with our black Labrador, Juno. Also residing on the farm are a flock of chickens, 6 goats and several barn cats. If you want to, you can help with the daily chores of feeding the animals. We have a pizza kit available for purchase. The kit includes a dough ball for making a 10" pizza, sauce, cheese, sausage, pepperoni and instructions for making great wood-fired pizzas.   If you plan to cook on the grill or burner, you have provided a few basic cooking supplies such as a skillet, a pot, a griddle, various cooking utensils and table settings. The cabin also has a coffee maker and microwave. Located 3 hours from Chicago, 1 hour from Indianapolis, 1 1/2 hours from South Bend and 2 hours from Ft. Wayne.

We invite you to create your own special Christmas celebration in our vintage 1850's cabin this holiday season. Cozy up to a crackling wood fire in the fireplace and create family memories that will last a lifetime! We provide everything you need create a family night to remember including cookies, popcorn for stringing, marshmallows and s'more supplies, and a surprise visit from Santa! After snuggling under comfy patchwork comforters for the night, enjoy a farm-fresh breakfast in the morning. What was it like to experience Christmas in an Indiana log cabin 160 years ago? Christmas in the Indiana wilderness was celebrated by some early settlers. The head of the pioneer family would read the gospel story of the Nativity, which was followed by the giving of home-made presents, articles that were useful and practical, for there were few frivolities in a cabin in the woods: "Father had tanned a hide in a trough cut out of a trunk of a tree, had taken the leather and made shoes, patterned and pegged by himself, for the boys and girls. Perhaps mother had been able to make some preserves and candy out of last year's maple sugar. They sometimes had wild turkey for dinner. The girls got new linsey-woolsey gowns or sunbonnets. Mother fashioned a doll out of buckskin and stuffed it with hay. The candle-lit Christmas tree was not known then in Indiana. Some little girls were fortunate to get some cabinet maker's little samples or some tiny china pieces. For the boys, homemade sleds, wagons, bows and arrows, slings, and whistles made of paw paw. Or a pair of ice skates or a gun made at the forge of the local blacksmith. For the Christmas goodies, there were home-made candies, -- taffy or 'lasses,' popcorn strings and balls, and fancy cookies." (from the December 27, 2005, Lowell Tribune, page 5). Here is what to expect: *String popcorn and decorate the Christmas tree by candlelight and flickering oil lamps. *Cozy up to a crackling fire in the fireplace. *Enjoy a plate of homemade Christmas cookies. *Roast marshmallows in the fireplace and make yummy S'mores. *Play games or sing songs - create special memories. We'll provide some Christmas Carol booklets. *Experience a surprise visit by Santa Claus! If you want, Santa will even bring gifts that you provide in advance or we supply from our farm store. Alpaca socks and stuffed toys make great Christmas gifts! *Settle down for the night in the cabin loft under warm patch-work comforters. The loft sleeps six in two full beds and two twin beds. *Enjoy a farm fresh breakfast in the morning complete with fresh homemade cinnamon rolls.

No other guests will be sharing the property during your stay. Our group buyout is perfect for family reunions, wedding and corporate events. In addition to the lodging units and campsites, you have access to our event tent and recreation barn. The total sleeping capacity in the lodges is 26. Camping capacity is up to 20 additional people.

It was beautiful watching the sunset. over the alpacas in the field. As we sat by the fire making dinner. Friendly kitties almost took one home in our pocket… they were just so darn cute! But our Harry ( spoiled kitty) wanted nothing to do with the cute animals. Wonderful stuff purchased at their store that was made from the farm.

Heritage Farm was such a great getaway to slow down and soak in nature’s sounds and farm life! We enjoyed it all- from hiking in the woods with the goats to feeding and walking the alpacas! All experiences we have never had. Our daughters (ages 3 & 5) especially loved the huge slide down the hill and the adorable cats and kittens to play with. Tim and Beth are wonderful hosts! If you’re looking for a great place to unwind and reset, Heritage Farm is truly the place to escape to!

We absolutely loved our experience at Heritage Farms, the camping sites were very clean and well kept. There were a couple of farm cats that kept us company the whole time and they were as sweet as they could be. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained, and always stocked with all of our needs. The host were extremely welcoming and very pleasant to talk to. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. There’s lots of alpacas that next time we would like to feed and mingle with. We will definitely be back and see ourselves spending quick getaways here in the future.

Easy going and friendly host, and we loved being around the dogs and cats and feeding out food scraps to the pigs rather than throwing them out. Got to take in an amazing sunset on the horizon of the fields on the west side of the farm. We've camped here twice now and both times loved it. Would gladly return!

Have stayed overnight at Heritage Farm twice. It's fun to walk around and see the alpacas and the old barn. A beautiful and peaceful place. The site by the barn is the best spot for an RV. Very responsive hosts.

We loved camping here! The site was great for our group of 9 (3 tents) and it felt secluded and private. Plenty of room to park, set up camp and spread out. It was such a peaceful stay! Alpacas were neat to see, and we encountered several cute kittens :) Wish we could have stayed longer!

This was my send stay at this farm, first time for two of my kids. Lots of room to run, creek, slide and animal kept my kids very busy most of time, which helped me a lot while camping solo with my three kids. Barn cats & kittens are so friendly and I enjoyed napping with two of them.

Heritage Farms was a unique location. Directions were clear and hosts responsive. Upon arrival we were met and assisted to our site (red barn RV). There were many pens of alpacas and our site was next to one. We were greeted by the friendly dogs and there were many kittens. The farm and buildings are well maintained and there are beautiful flowers. You do need to understand it is a working alpaca farm and if that isn’t your thing then it wouldn’t be for you. There was less privacy where our site was located due to the attraction of the animals.

Heritage Farms was beautiful and a great place to the camp with our family. We have 5 kids reading 5-16 and all of us loved it. Creekside location was spacious and private, with great options for tent placement and parking for two cars. The fire ring is also nice. We enjoyed the trails, the slide and awesome farm pop a shot game. Our kids favorite were the kittens that they got to hold and pet, as will as the car who visited our site and loved to snuggle. They also loved the hayride around the countryside that was generously offered. This is probably our kids favorite camping location yet.

We had a great time at Heritage Farm. The property was beautiful, we all appreciated the clever fire pit with a swinging grate, and loved all the critters around. Especially all the farm cats. The store was a fun stop, and Tim was very helpful and great to talk to. We'll definitely be back.

Very cosy and private. I was able to pitch my tent under a shelter in case it rained, which was nice. I was right next to the creek with a little waterfall and beside that a pond. So at night, I had the sound of the running water and the croaking of the frogs to lull me to sleep.

We loved camping with our 3 kids at Heritage Farm! The kids had so much fun playing in the creek, seeing the farm animals and sliding down the slide. They all asked if we could come back again! We really liked the Creekside-give me shelter site. It felt private, had great creek access and the shelter was nice to have. Such a great spot for families and would highly recommend!

I and my daughter camped this weekend in over 90 degrees. Tall trees and easy access to the creek right next to our camp site helped us a lot! We also enjoyed one of their barn cats stay with us for two days. My daughter loved that he was cuddlier than our own cats. I’m happy to have found a triangle shawl I’ve been looking for at the gift shop. I hope I can come back with my whole family or solo when the heat calms down.

We've been coming here since 2020 (both during spring and winter) and absolutely love the place. We made it our annual tradition and now we have expanded our plans to an additional stay at their bigger cabin - smaller for June trips, the bigger one for November trips. If you'd like to disconnect from "the chaos", yet be comfortable during your c(gl)amping (a real restroom, shower, heatingm portable AC, grill, fireplace, etc) and within driving distance to a store and restaurants in case you forgot something, this is your place! Rugged enough if you want to go a bit rougher, yet all amenities for you less adventurous team members. This place is truly awesome! Proprietors are an absolute national treasure! We've been coming back here every year, just got back from another great outing and starting this year we are making it a twice-yearly tradition. Try it! You will not be disappointed! Cheers!

Heritage Farm’s is a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing camping destination. Beth and Tim are lovely hosts making every effort to ensure a great stay. The alpacas, goats, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats make the stay a delight. My 19 and 15 year old sons agreed it was a great location and both want to come back. We would recommend that if you tent camp that you bring a yard game or two because there is space to play. In short it was exactly what we’d hoped for.

I loved tent camping at heritage farm. The hosts were amazing, and it was honestly one of my favorite camping trips. The alpacas, views, activities, trails, and the campsite all around was perfect!!

Country Home Farm Stay
We’ve visited Heritage Farms for several years now and my kids always have the best time. Whether it’s the nature walks to the creek, observing the animals, the hillside slide, or just sitting in the sunshine, they have the best time.

Red Barn Farm Experience RV Style
Extremely quiet, beautiful and lots of friendly furry animals. The directions for the RV site were a little hard to follow, but we found it easily enough. The interactive farm map was not very easy to use and since it’s a complex you really need a map. We did pay extra for an alpaca tour and firewood but there was no one there. When we called the host, he didn’t seem to know anything about it and wasn’t there but had his nieces deliver some wood eventually. Had to cook our steaks over a small camp grill instead of the fire because we couldn’t wait any longer. Lots of very friendly kitties to defend dinner from. They almost got our meal at one point. .

Tim and Beth are great hosts with an amazing property. The alpacas, chickens, dogs, cats and the quiet are the most calming camping site you could ever want. It's a working farm. It doesn't feel like a working farm. It feels like a home in the country and we can't wait to come back!

Vintage 1850 Log Cabin Glamping
Heritage farm was an amazing reprieve for our family of 5 with two college freshman who enjoyed being in nature! Exploring the property, meeting all the animals who were so friendly, fresh farm eggs for breakfast, and a picture perfect fall weekend. Thank you so much for a weekend to remember for our whole family.
