Small campsite only 5 sites. We were near the barn, had FHU. Only spent 1 night. Grounds were well kept. Small ponds, chickens and ducks. In the middle of nowhere.

Dwight has a special place here, we loved our stay! The camp was well maintained, peaceful, and safe. We loved waking up to views of the pond and the sounds of chickens. Absolutely recommend to anyone going through Indiana!

Far enough from the highway that it’s quiet but still easy to access 70. The pond looked clean and inviting but it was raining for most of our stay so we never got to try it out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Happy Campers Campground. Dwight was an excellent host and would check in with us daily to see if we needed anything. At check in he even suggested we use site 2 instead of 5 because he knew we were there for an extended stay and site 2 would provide us the most shade while we were there. The added bonus was the super friendly Bon Bon. She was such a cute cat and would visit us daily and couldn't get enough of us petting her. We will definitely stay here again if we pass through the area.

Cute little campground. Dwight made us feel right at home. We were in site 2. It was mostly level and we were able to stay hooked up. There were 2 kitties that were a nice welcoming committee. Would definitely stay again!!

The lake was gorgeous and the kids loved swimming in it. The cabin was clean and beautiful. Dwight and his wife were very kind and welcoming people. My kids already want to know when we can go back!

Mr. Davies has a beautiful rural property that has easy access to I-70 and the Indianapolis area. It made an excellent place to split a long road trip for a bite to eat and a goods night rest before another long day of driving. Peaceful, easy access to park, and the right amenities. I will definitely consider staying here again when I’m ready to explore Indiana. Friendly and helpful proprietor of simple camping pleasures. Great experience.

Dwight as host was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Beautiful property and site offerings. Great to find a private location w/ full hookup and included wifi with exceptional bandwidth!!! Site 5 is by the storage barn, pond, and free range chicken coops; not with sites 1-4 so a little more private. 2 friendly cats. Depending on arrival/departure time, watch out for deer in the fields along your drive into Happy Camper. This is a real winner for overnight or longer, and not far from I-70 with the right GPS (Dwight); while still extremely rural!. ~42 miles from Illinois/Indiana border [IN].

I loved camping on Dwight's land. Very clean place, and quiet for our whole 4 night stay. Dwight was very helpful when you needed help or questions answered. Went fishing at night. Didn't catch anything but with the moon, stars, frogs and everything nature had to offer, it was still enjoyable. Very delighted with the place as a whole, especially with it being our first time out in a camper. Would camp there again.

We had a great overnight stay. The campground was nice and quiet, which made for a relaxing stop. We really enjoyed walking around the pond, and waking up to the crowing of a rooster was a fun touch that added to the charm of the place. We’d definitely stay here again.

June Weekend Cabin Rental with Dog

I was looking for a location close to Terre Haute where we could decompress after an outdoor workshop with my dog that ran a full weekend. I had previously stayed in the local hotels, but wanted something with space, quiet, and most of the standard comforts. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the cabin on the first night that there was a/c. I must have not read carefully because I was ready for a humid evening, but the a/c was on and the cabin felt great! The fridge was big enough for my meals, the microwave was full size and heated up morning coffee in a jiffy. Everything was clean and organized. Bed was comfy, but honestly I’m not too picky — especially after working outdoors for 10 hours. I also don’t mind an outhouse, even when it rained for a brief period. The short distance had a nice big tree that provided cover most of the way. The owner met me as we were unpacking and went over the form. And we had a quick chat about my weekend, and he made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

We were happy campers!

A beautiful place to camp! Dwight was really helpful in getting us set up with our site. We camped next to the barn with our two dogs since there was a dog already on the row of 4. The site was perfectly level and offered a nice view down to the pond. The farm chickens peeked at us, and the camp cat paid us a couple of visits. We purchased eggs from Dwight and enjoyed them the next morning before pulling out for our next leg. We would definitely stop there again!

This property is stunning! The host met us as we pulled in and immediately took care of any questions we had, delivered us firewood, and even used a blow torch to get it lit for us! Everything was beautifully maintained and in impeccable shape. The resident kitty, Bon Bon, kept my kiddos entertained as we set up camp and Dwight made sure we had what we needed to get through the night. It was quiet, remote, but felt cozy. We would love to return!

Dwight did a great job at making us feel welcome. He also provided us with the adapter to take the 30amp down to a 110 for power cords and tent camping. He has a peaceful place. Nice for a stop off or even a few day stay. Pack your fishing poles. :)
