I had an absolutely peaceful and wonderful time spent here and would highly recommend anyone looking for a small tranquil but close to amenities get away come to this wonderful property! The host Jonathan is nothing shy of one the the nicest folks I have ever met! He cares throughly about your comfort and explains the history of their land to your upon arrival. You can tell that this family is full of genuine souls who just want people to feel at home there and get whatever their soul needs replenishment for while there. They are respectful of your privacy but know that they are only a moment away if anything is needed. The stars are magical and the butterflies I have never seen so many and of those colors. A true Hoosier family and a gem of a find! I will be back with my son and dog to this time to relax upon the pond and wonder further into the trails! Thank you, Jonathan for being you and keeping land alive for us nature lovers to escape too! You are appreciated!

Our site was next to a pretty little pond. Jonathan and his family were friendly and helpful. He even prepared a fire in the fire ring each night so all we had to do was light it.

I felt really good about staying here, super friendly service and set the reservation up the day of arrival with no issues.

Jonathan was a great host. Communication was excellent and the location was easy to get to off I-70. Free property was clean and very welcoming. There was a fire pit with a generous supply of wood and a clean easily accessible restroom facility for men and women. We only stopped in overnight for about eight hours, but we were so ratified we will remember our and visit again. Thank you Jonathan.

Our second time staying at Basic Acres and we love it! Beautiful and quiet surroundings, plenty of space. Jonathan is friendly and very available if you need anything. Having bathrooms on site is a huge plus. We had a perfect, relaxing stay. Will absolutely book again!

Pretty spot, well priced. Was clean, safe and the bathrooms to use was a nice treat. The kids had a good time roaming near the pond. Was perfect for a nights stop to rest.

John was a very kind and welcoming host. My family and I stopped over for a quick night in our way from lake superior back home, and we had to head out pretty early in the morning. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay longer to get to know John, but I appreciate the brief but warm welcome we received and how eager John was to ne accessible and accommodating. The property is really beautiful with a dynamite sunset and sunrise. We pitched our tents near the apple orchard and enjoyed a peaceful night (except I did have to relocate to the car due to my family's snoring -- all our fault and nothing to do with the campsite!). Just the sounds of summertime bugs. The fields on the property were dew-crested and cool, which made for a pleasant sleep considering that it eas about 90 degrees during the day. John also offered us a free fire pit with fire wood! Too bad we were too tuckered out to take him up on his offer. Just 10 minutes up the road is Plainfield, which was nice for weary travelers like us who were too tired to quick and found a nice restaurant to eat. Kind host, tranquil spot to sleep, a great spot for someone staying near the city who wants to sleep outdoors.

Great place to camp! We car camp and Jonathan met us and suggested a couple good spots for shade and privacy. He even brought over a picnic table for us to eat and relax at before heading back into our car for the night and let us know he was easy to reach if we needed anything at all.
Extremely quiet and peaceful location - typically I sleep with earplugs but I like country and nature noises, so I waited to see if I'd need them for road noise or not before using them. Stayed for two weekend nights and honestly can't recall hearing ANY traffic noise even though our camping location wasn't that far from the road. Did NOT need the earplugs. It was perfect.
Loved the stay and Jonathan was a super friendly, helpful host!

This is a great find. Peaceful and hosts Jonathan and Gary both met and talked to us. The ducks were fun to watch too. This looks like a great wedding or party venue too. We will keep this place in mind when we come back by this way in the future.

Tent camping at Basic Acres was simple and enjoyable! Jonathan greeted us on arrival and gave us a rundown of the property and offered to answer any questions. We enjoyed the peacefulness of our stay, it was a quick stop but would have enjoyed the fire pit on the property! Lights were located around the pond as well as outlets which we used for our bed and fan.

Tent camped for the 2024 Solar Eclipse and had a great time. Amenities were very nice. Had permission to fish and paddle boat. Jonathan was friendly and checked in to see if anything was needed.

Space was amazing and the hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating making our trip to see the eclipse truly memorable. Bathrooms were clean and functional. Each site had plenty of firewood for the fire pit and a picnic table for eating and food prep. There was plenty of land so even though there were 12 groups there at once we still had a bit of room and some privacy.
