Meadow Tent Sites
First time Hipcampers
This was our first time using Hipcamp. We found this gem for the 2024 Total Eclipse weekend. This was a perfect large open meadow to pitch a tent. Plenty of space between each of the sites. Our host and her family are amazing folks. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel at home. Bring everything you need, it is primitive camping but if you forget anything you’re just minutes away from several towns to get supplies. At the river you could kayak or canoe. There is a nice marked trail to hike. We brought our dogs and they had as much fun as we did. We will definitely be back. On our stay we had seen a bald eagle, heard owls, turkeys and coyotes in the far distance. The stars at night are so clear and bright. We are so happy that we chose this to experience the eclipse Thank you Haileigh

We stayed from 9 AM - 8 PM and had a great time relaxing and playing. We didn't even make it over to the river area, but were content in the meadow.

Diamond in the rough
This place was amazing. We camped here for the eclipse and it exceeded expectations in all areas Haleigh was a great host very welcoming. They're land is beautiful. The camping area is great. It is shaded with luscious grass perfect for setting up tents. I Brought my dog and had no issues. They have mowed walking paths around the property as well. Had a Porta potty on site which was great. You can drive right into your spot. All in all great experience great stay great people. 10/10 would recommend

Beautiful, HUGE property
My wife and I didn't quite camp here - rather, we wanted to capture the eclipse from a location away from (most) other people, that had a wide open view. We visited the site the day before the eclipse - it is WAY bigger than I expected it to be. We met some of the other campers and hiked down to the Wabash River, which was pretty high that day but still fun to see. Haleigh had ensured that there were plenty of tent sites - we could see lots of mowed spots not only for tent campers, but also a lot of mowed areas for the eclipse, a bit north of the house area, and along the northern edge of the property. So everyone had plenty of space to enjoy the celestial event. And we were able to capture WONDERFUL photos and video from here. Haleigh and her family were all very kind before and after. A few minor notes: The gravel road leading to the sites is rather large gravel and a bit bumpy in spots. A higher clearance vehicle will help a lot (think Subaru or a bit higher clearance). Also, there were a LOT of ticks even in April - we did have to pick three off our sheltie - but it's a field, so, I mean - nature is gonna nature, right? It is what it is. Just be aware, wear proper clothing and check yourself / kids / pets afterwards. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and a beautiful site.

Magical Camping by the Wabash Rive
Our adventure to Haleigh’s property by the Wabash River was a dream! It perfectly accommodated our Jeep for car camping, with thoughtful amenities at every turn. Haleigh and family’s hospitality shone, offering warm welcomes, ample firewood for cozy nights, and clean facilities. Their surprise of eclipse glasses and moon pies for the eclipse viewing added a magical touch, making the event unforgettable. Our chocolate lab had the time of his life, mingling with other dogs and exploring the vast, mysterious landscapes. The diverse community of campers added to the vibrant atmosphere. Despite the lack of potable water, nearby supplies made our stay hassle-free. This visit wasn’t just a camping trip; it was an immersion into an enchanting world, promising lasting memories and a longing to return. Haleigh’s haven is truly a slice of paradise, beckoning us back with its natural beauty and heartwarming hospitality. Can’t wait for our next visit!
