Geneseo Campground

I was a quick stay but found the campground to be clean, quiet, with updated well lit and pristinely kept bathrooms/showers. It was easy to find and a late check in wasn’t a problem. Communication was rock solid from the team, who provided easy to follow directions with a map to the site. I also grabbed a voodoo burger from Raelyn’s pub nearby—awesome food and staff!

The host answered any questions we had in a timely manner. Full hookup sites had everything as described. We just wished the sites were further apart, but overall good experience!

Left a day early…

I really wanted this place to be great and was so excited to book a yurt, and we also booked a cabin as we wanted our baby and my husband and our toddler to sleep in the cabin while I was with our other two kids in the yurt…. I don’t think the yurt has ever been cleaned. I’m fine with outdoorsey, but finding a large pill on the ground, a men’s shirt, a dog toy, 1,000s of dead ladybugs…. None of which were ours but it really wasn’t great to have to spend time cleaning the place the second I walked in. I opened the mini fridge (lightly, I’m not that crazy strong) and the wooden table the fridge and microwave were on broke in half. I could sort of get over all of that (not the pill) if the place was set in a forest, but you are in the middle of an RV park. The 3 cabins have no privacy and are on top of each other and a ton of rvs… the yurt was slightly more off to the side, but open the door and you see a ton of rvs. Not in nature. We actually left a day early and found a different campground an hour away by starved rock and were so happy to be there. I really hate to leave bad reviews but I was blown away with how different this place looked and where it was set at a rv park which differed than the website.

Quick stop, nice place

We stopped here for one night on a road trip. The campground was very nice. It was tidy and easy to navigate right to our site with all the early communication. Looking around before we left, the extra amenities like game room, boats, and bikes looked nice. Firewood and propane onsite is a plus. Bathroom and shower were clean and convenient.

Cozy Cabin

We stayed for one night while traveling from Colorado to Michigan. The cozy cabin and location provided us with a quiet restful sleep. The campground was a perfect location with several nearby restaurants and the canal trail system right there for a nice walk.

Girls weekend get away

The campground is clean and peaceful. I went with a friend this weekend and we will be coming back with our families to camp again. The cabin was clean and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Turtle Cabin

Very friendly staff, the host at the front desk and the staff were always friendly and very helpful with any questions we had. We were checked in promptly with our key. There is a small ramp to get onto the porch of the cabin which is good for transporting things like coolers or suitcases that have wheels, into the cabin. The warm lights and the turtle decor on the cabin were a welcome addition to the look of the cabin. The queen-size bed was comfortable for two people. Bathrooms were very clean, even when some unfortunately messy campers left the bathroom in a less than ideal condition, the staff cleaned the bathrooms in a swift manner and it was just as fresh and clean as when we first arrived. The bathrooms had the windows open, but the A/C always kept the bathrooms cool and comfortable. The showers in the bathroom were equipped with a shower chair, shower caddy, shower curtain, and multiple hooks for bags and such. There were fat tire bikes and pedal carts for rental and those were nice to ride on the trail. The fishing along the Hennepin Canal was good, although I didn’t catch anything, I did enjoy the atmosphere and the nature around the canal. The hiking/biking trail was nice, one side led to a canal lock which was cool. The fire pit was the perfect size for cooking burgers, hot dogs, and s’mores. Overall, the cabin itself, inside and out, was cozy, cute, and functional and the campground was calm and quiet while we were there. Great stay!

Excellent. The campground was exactly as advertised. Everything was super clean and well kept. The hosts and grounds people were attentive and provided everything we needed and more. The yurt was spacious, temperature controlled, and had very comfy beds. There are plenty of trees and grassy areas- each tent site had a natural boundary for privacy. So quiet! Everyone was respectful of neighbors, friendly, and observed quiet time. Cool game room! Walking distance to the canal-canoeing with ease. We would love to return- hands down great place for memories 😀

Great experience camping out at Geneseo especially as a first time camper. The staff at the check in center was very helpful getting settled in; smooth check in, renting a grill as well as purchasing items we needed for our cabin. As for the cabin it was spacey for two people, accommodating with the appliances such as mini fridge and microwave. Amazing stay overall!

Spacious Yet Cozy

I recently had the pleasure of spending two nights at Campground Name, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! One of the standout features of this campground was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. It’s always a relief to find well-maintained facilities while camping, and Campground Name did not disappoint. The restrooms were tidy and stocked, making our stay much more comfortable. Despite the campground having a large number of sites, it managed to maintain a sense of comfort and privacy. The layout was thoughtfully designed, allowing for enough space between sites that we didn’t feel crowded. It created a relaxing atmosphere where we could enjoy nature without feeling overwhelmed by other campers. Our two-night stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The combination of clean facilities and a comfortable environment made for a perfect getaway. Whether you’re looking to relax or explore the surrounding area, Campground Name is an excellent choice. I recently stayed in a cabin at Geneseo Campground, and it was fantastic! The cabin was the perfect size for a cozy, comfortable stay and had climate control, which made it easy to relax no matter the weather outside. The entire area was incredibly peaceful and quiet, allowing me to fully unwind. The hiking trail was beautiful and well-maintained, offering scenic views and a serene experience. Wonderful Camp Hosts. Shared lots of local recommendations, even supplied free tickets to a weekend event. Very welcoming and friendly campground with grassy clean dog park and access to the scenic Hennepin Trail and canal. Absolutely recommend!

We had a pleasant albeit brief stay at the yurt. Got out on the water; the immediate access from the property was a big plus! Had a nice fire with their well-cured wood. It was a relaxing night!

Quiet camping- this is the place!

Absolutely loved camping here! We had a tent spot for a few days and spent lots of time around the campsite- fishing, kayaking, hiking, and the walking around the nearby town. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, recommended some food spots for us, and came around to our tent site to chat with us before we left! We were a bit early in the season to enjoy the community garden, but we had a chance to grab a book or two from the little library. There’s a rec-room, coin laundry, camp store, clean and air conditioned bathrooms/showers, and a dog park area with beautiful flowers. Kayak rentals are very affordable and so worth it!! Most importantly, the site felt very safe and the quiet hours were respected by all campers. Great campsite- we’ll definitely be back again!

Great camp ground, very clean and organized! Host was very accomidating and helped us find a perfect tent site whe out tent wounldnt fit initial spot. They have a great little store with essentials and cute merch. The tent/van spaces had trees between them so you had some privacy. All sites had a firepit and they have lots of wood bundles for sale and free fire starters with the bundles. Nice hot showers, great playground and there is a water pad, lot of families and my daughter had a blast playing with other kids she met there.Also they have direct access to the canal trail for walking, fishing, biking, and canoe/kayaking. The campground is in a great location too, we were able to hooe i to town within a few mins to get food. We def are planing a trip back in fall! Thanks for a great weekend get away.
