The site is easy to access and in the shade of walnut trees most of the day. Although not completely secluded (you will see a house) our property itself is quiet and off the beaten path. We have a small cottage 50 yards away that is occasionally rented on Airbnb but other than that you might see the mailman. We set the limit of people at 4 but as long as peace is maintained we are open to more. There is a small cottage we rent on Airbnb about 50 yards away and we ask that you maintain their privacy and keep the noise down. Fyke Hill Farm is a 10 acre “not for profit farm” a few miles off interstate 57 North of Mt Vernon Ill. We are not for profit because we make no money off the farm anymore. Honestly, I am pretty sure we never made profit when we did have an active farm. We just did it to keep the kids busy. They are all adults now and we grow native grass and volunteer flowers where the horses were to give space to deer, birds, bees ,butterflies and other various critters as long as they are quiet. We keep a path mowed around the property for quiet walks that leads to a stocked pond that you are welcome to fish. Use of a 24’ above ground pool by reservation and small fee. Use of the renovated horse barn for activities again reservation and fee. We host weddings, retreats, campers, RVs, and have a small house on Airbnb. The key word is quiet. We value that highly here.

Small but open home in the country on a dead-end road. Super quiet, country setting. The only neighbor is the owner across a grassy field. Spacious living room and open kitchen dining area. Two large bedrooms with queen beds. Big west-facing sun porch with futon sofa bed and twin mattress available for extra sleeping space. *Pet Friendly- see details Hot tub, Sauna, Firepit, and other amenities! Camper available for an additional 75$ per night. Sleeps 1-2 people and only 1 pet. Notify host The space A good option to local hotels for area events, hunting, fishing, or hiking. Only 4 miles off of I-57. 12 miles outside of Centralia, 13 miles away from Salem. 25 miles to Mt. Vernon. Guest access House, property, and the fishing pond Other things to note Pets- we are pet-friendly, but we are not running a kennel. One really bad experience has made us revamp our pet policy. We do not have a pet fee because we have found that most pet owners are responsible. Dogs- 2 max. Any dog over 40 lbs needs to be approved. A vacuum and cleaning supplies are provided for daily upkeep. Kennels are required for unsupervised pets. We can provide an XL and a L kennel. Beds and dog towels provided. Pets are prohibited from sleeping on the beds. As stated earlier, we don’t add a pet fee because we also travel with our dogs and want to promote responsible pet ownership. That being said, If it is left a mess, there will be an additional cleaning fee for the time required to get the home ready for people who may not have pets themselves. In two years, we have only done that once. Cats- same rules, but if you bring a 40 lb cat we have more questions. lol Also, the barn next door is available to use as an event space for an additional fee. Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Get some rest and recharge before you begin again. 4 miles from I-57. 12 miles from Centralia and 13 miles from Salem. The space 18 ft Palomino Puma located on a 10-acre property with a nearby fishing pond, walking trails, and lots of wildlife. The camper is set up in a cozy location near our other listing “Serenity at Fyke Hill” but far enough to feel private. The comforts of home in a quiet, comfortable package. Guest access Entire camper, campsite, walking trails, and fishing pond. Above-ground pool use with a reservation and an additional hourly rate. Other things to note This camper comfortably sleeps 2 average-sized adults; the shower is small, but it’s a camper!🤷‍♀️ This could be a good option for a quick overnight stay or perhaps a weekend escape from the city! Dogs- 2 max. Any dog over 40 lbs needs to be approved. A vacuum and cleaning supplies are provided for daily upkeep. Kennels are required for unsupervised pets. We can provide an XL and an L kennel.
