What a surprisingly lovely place to stay!! The campgrounds were so clean and well maintained. And the staff was amazing and very friendly. Such a peaceful and calm site to stay at. I highly recommend the space and plan on staying again in the future!
Brandi and Michael were so kind. Their hospitality was amazing. 10/10 recommend this spot. It was a quick 1 hour drive down scenic 6 to the National Park.
Had an amazing experience at this resort with my dog Lily! Victor is very attentive to his guests and the property has so much to offer! From all the activities to the beautiful lake you get to enjoy. I highly recommend staying at this campground!
Amazing, beautiful, serene, one of the best places around. The owner and employees are top notch. Love what they are doing with the place. Keep up all the great things.
The showers were very rough, not draining and curtains were see through on the women's side. 208 was right in the middle of 5 other sites which was uncomfortable. No privacy at all. The night we stayed, quiet hours were not enforced and a literal brawl took place in the middle of the first night that woke us up it was so loud and scary. We paid to do archery, but half the arrows were falling apart and the bows were clearly old and out of practice. Kayaking was overpriced too. However, the staff was amazing, the area was unique, and there were quite a few free things to do in the resort. We had a nice time anyway.
What a nice campground! Quiet with a lot of amenities. Played mini-golf ( 2 holes in one,) and corn hole. Fished at the lake. General store had the essentials. Employees were super nice. Will definitely go back!!
I'm not totally sure where to begin with this one. The pictures and description look amazing. I didn't feel that way camping there though. We got moved to site 201 because that one had full hookups and 202 does not. The sites are incredibly narrow so much so that our sewer connection was basically in the neighbor's site. The tent sites look a little more spaced out.
When we got there, it felt super weird. Just a strange vibe and all of the people at the other sites were staring at us as if we didn't belong there. That is a similar feeling when we drove down by the lake to check that out before purchasing the pass to swim. There's no real parking down there and you almost haver to walk through people's camp sites to get to the lake.
Everything is an extra there, swimming, mini golf, corn hole, etc. We paid for mini golf and it was $27 for 4 people. The course looked like it used be nice, but none of the fountains or water are moving anymore so it's just buggy and boring.
Our site was supposed to have a table and fire pit, it had neither. I did message them and they brought stuff out.
The only way I can describe our neighbors was hillbilly. They stayed up very late talking and playing music and since the sites are so close, it felt like they were in our camper with us. They drank a ton and one of them crashed their car into the main entrance gate which brought the cops the next morning.
We ended up leaving a day early and going somewhere else. Would not recommend.
I cannot say enough about not only the hosts, who went out of their way to help when I had a huge problem with my vehicle, but the lakes and nature scenery were outstanding. It was the best unplanned stop I've made. The owner and his staff are the rare type who inspire faith in humanity. Anyone can relax here with swimming, kayaking, fishing mini golf... It has it all and I am so grateful for their help and the experience!
Victor is an amazing host, his land is beautiful. Tent sites are nice, the lake is gorgeous and the place is clean. Victor is very accommodating and is one of the nicest people I’ve met. He has big plans for his land and it’s just going to get better. I recommend Bella Vita to anyone looking to camp.
We really enjoyed our brief stay at the Campground. Easy access, nice staff, and a relaxed vibe. The pond was well stocked if you fish, and the mini golf was fun too.
The motorway around the corner has events on Saturdays, but it wasn't too noisy down by the pond. We would definitely come back.
Hesitant at the beginning due to being a bit far from Chicago, we knew we made the right choice once we arrived. This is one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest, campgrounds we've been to. The lake was great—very private and peaceful. The kiddos had a lot of fun fishing and playing in the water. My husky swam for the first time and also had a blast. The restrooms and showers were clean. Overall, it was a very nice experience. We didn't regret driving for four hours; it was worth it. We'll be back 100%.
This place was Amazing. Staff was great and the property was even better. Abe is the biggest and greatest picture taking ever. They have alot in the works and alot of good ideas.
Tent camping was great here, plenty of space, the showers are minimal but warm and well maintained. There are plenty of activities to do enjoy while on the land including fishing and kayaking. Will definitely recommend and will be back whenever I’m in the area again. Thanks Victor!
Amazing location it was our first RV trip and we stayed on the lake. Amazing views and lake access. Lake was full of bass, catfish and crappie my 9 year old caught over 10 fish total. Victor is amazing helped the whole way thru and made sure we had an awesome time there is also mini golf and games as well along with a huge huge Abraham Lincoln statue. 5+ stars for sure and we will be back In summer
This is a really nice place. Electrical available at camp sites, pretty grounds, showers and bathroom facilities were a short walk. It was quiet and peaceful. I would never had guessed it was tucked away here. The hosts were also very friendly and helpful.
