Learn more about this land: We have 5 private campsites in thickly wooded area and 2 drive in sites. There's a stocked 2 acre pond to fish, or sun yourself on the floating dock. East fork of Kaskaskia river runs through the property also. You can walk on the trails (some easy, some challenging)for hours or find a peaceful place to sit on hand made benches and enjoy the view.  The abundance of rare plant and mushroom species is diverse as is the animal life. Nearby site of interest would be Forbes Park.  You can bike in the surrounding area with winding roads up and down through fields and woods. We also hold events here and offer full facility rental if desired.  Sites #6 and #7 are drive-in, sites #1 - #5 are hike in only (10-15 mins) --we haul your gear to and from site via atv. All the sites are around 20-30yds apart and cannot be seen from other sites. Each site is roomy and can fit multiple tents. We start you out with a free bundle of wood and a full tiki torch. We also have some items for sale(bug spray, cold waters, ice-cream, and seasonally some produce). You can combine your camping with some of our events like wild edible and medicinal plant identification and uses. Or mushroom foraging and identification. The beautiful thing about here is you can camp privately in the woods, not packed into a field/parking lot area. Come and enjoy some nature with us!

      Away In The Woods
      Robert has a great place to camp! We stayed at one of the drive in sites. It wasn't quite a secluded as we had hoped, (close to the road and houses in view) but it worked out wonderfully. The back sites are awesome. If you're looking for a place to feel far away from the world Roberts place is it. We stayed in a campervan, but talked about coming back and staying at one of the walk in sites. The primitive bathroom room, trail markers, pond, river, firewood delivery are all things that make Roberts place stand out. He was a super friendly guy, but respected privacy. Stopped by once while we were sitting outside and checked if we needed anything.

      Away in the Woods is Amazing!!!!
      Our weekend here was AMAZING!! We couldn’t have asked for a better campsite. We were secluded, surrounded by beautiful woods and wildlife. We hiked the trails, fished in the pond, and read by the river. I would highly recommend this to families. My husband and I are empty nesters so it was just us but we talked of how our kids would have loved exploring the woods when they were young! Our hosts, Robert and Jodie were so wonderful. The bathrooms were clean. I could go on and on…. ❤️❤️❤️

      We’ve stayed at many different campsites, and this has to be our new favorite. Robert and Jodie were extremely friendly and great hosts. The trails were absolutely beautiful and all of the sites were very well kept. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

      Amazing
      This was the best camping experience I have ever had. The actual camping spot was perfect. Part of it was canopied by the the trees so besides the great view, it gave us the right amount of sun and helped shield us from some rain. The perfect place for adults, kids and even dogs. They have fishing with a doc and in the same area , you can get the most wonderful view of the stars and the Milky Way . There’s plenty of hiking that can be done whether you choose to go by the river or stay in the forest. Camp sites are easily accessible and William is a great host. He knows so much about the land and was great with checking in as well.

      Away In The Woods
      Great secluded location. Great trails. Great fishing. It was just us and one other group. Robert has an ATV to pack all your gear to your campsite. Then we set up camp and had fun. This is a great camp place if you like to tent camp at a spot away from civilization. No camper hookups, no electrical outlets. Just you and nature. This is the way we love to camp.
