An experience like no other...
The hosts are kind and were working cattle upon our arrival. We were "caught" between two cattle gates in a very small area with the cattle and were afraid of hitting them with our vehicle. "Camp" entails a very small area comprised of wild vegetation and a minefield of cattle pies which are too plentiful to avoid. The picnic table is housed in tall vegetation. The RV-like toilet is clean without stench. The structure around the toilet provides easy entry for bees/hornets to which I'm allergic, so I used it once, saw the buzzies fly in, high-tailed it out, and never returned. If not allergic to stinging bees/hornets, we might have used the rustic, outdoor shower. A sink & hot water are available for washing dishes if one wishes to stand in tall vegetation. I did not see where the advertised "kitchen" was or what comprised it. Cattle silenced at dark but then mooed again much of the night, perhaps calving. Despite being a working ranch, there were no flies or mosquitoes but a lot of tiny leafhoppers. Broken glass was on the ground around roosters' camper. There's a mowed area to the stream, but we didn't explore due to cattle-pie ground cover. It was fun to watch the ranchers and cattle dogs corral cattle from afar to begin the move to new pasture. Had we not been so tired from driving all day, we would have exited, foregone our reservation, and camped somewhere comfortable. I'm sure glad we had a vehicle rather than a tent in which to sleep!
