This property was used by the Shoshone Indian tribe as a summer camp area. Later after the pioneers came they set up a dance floor and had parties here. The dance floor has since overgrown. This property has also been the host to never dams. It has been in our family for many years and we have enjoyed it. Learn more about this land: The campsites are located in a wooded area so lots of shade. 2 sites are creek side along maple creek and the other has a small stream and a pond. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach site 1. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping.

This campsites is located in a wooded area so lots of shade. This site is creek side along maple creek. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach this site. Depending on the creek volume it is not always passable in the spring. In this case you will be sent to an alternate site. This Site also has outdoor carpet and patio furniture at the site. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping or small teardrop trailers. This site has a picnic table. There is one portable toilet for the 4 campsites it sits between site 2-3 Come enjoy the wilderness and watch the stars. This area was used by the local Indian tribes during the summer. We have found many flint arrowheads and a bread stone on the property. Nearby: There is a cave on little mountain to the west that they wintered in and it is a short hike to go see it. There is a 6 mile round trip hike to the head of maple creek. Trail head at the top of maple creek road. If you have atv’s there are trails for that also.

This campsite is right beside the creek. This site has less trees than the other sites. Site 2 also has outdoor carpet and a picnic table. The toilet is between site 2-3. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping and small trailers. Come enjoy the wilderness and watch the stars. History: This area was used by the local Indian tribes during the summer. Site 3 has a small stream and a pond. There are many springs that come up in this area. This site has a fire pit and picnic table. All sites are carry in carry out. This site is over a small hill from the others. It is large and has many trees a fire pit and picnic table. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. Site 4 - Hidden Valley
Tent camping at Site 4 was wonderful. The site is separated from the others by a fairly steep hill that goes up and then back down the other side. We were able to make it multiple times in our AWD Subaru Legacy, but if it had been muddy I’m not sure we could have made it. The outhouse is closer to the other sites, but it’s not a bad walk to get back to it. The site itself was large and had a variety of different birds that we enjoyed watching and listening to. We saw a couple of deer in the site as well. There is access to the creek from the site, but it took us a while to find as the path down is covered with trees and foliage. We were able to harvest fire wood from fallen trees around the site, but Ken also had bundles of wood available to purchase if needed. One thing to note - Site 4 is located behind a property (the same one you turn into from the main road), and it seems that they use site 4 to empty their trucks into. We watched them dump large rocks down the hill and into the site for about an hour. Not sure if this is part of a deal they have with Ken, but they started without any warning and it could have been dangerous if anyone had been standing where the rocks were falling. We had the opportunity to explore the other sites as well, and I would recommend all except maybe site 2 as it had no shade. Site 1 is across the river. Overall it was a very enjoyable and relaxing week at this site, and we are already thinking about when we will be coming back!

Great communication from host & had his older son help me & my daughter since the host was out of town. I do wish there were photos posted of each site with a description of those sites. We originally wanted site 1 but it’s not accessible during this time of year due to river being too high to drive over. The mosquitoes were horrid due to a small pond at another site. The directions could use a little work due to there being no sign (as stated in the directions and multiple same colored houses in that area). I’m sure the people in the small community got a kick out of us driving back & forth trying to find the “road” that lead down to the sites. Do not recommend in a small car because the beginning of the road is very steep, has a drop off one side and mainly rocks. Was nice having the river right at our campsite but don’t recommend in Spring due to mosquitoes haha and everything being damp/muddy. With all the trees, this is probably a great place once it’s warmer.

We recently stayed at this campsite and had an amazing time! The site was very spacious and beautifully maintained, making it perfect for our family. The little stream was a hidden gem that our kids absolutely loved playing in. The surroundings were stunning, and we even spotted a deer, which was a highlight for our son. Despite not having a 4-wheeler, we brought our e-bike and had so much fun exploring the area. The campsite felt very private, and we were pleasantly surprised by how clean the toilet facilities were—it was clear that the owners take great care of the place. Although it was a bit tricky to find at first, the owners were incredibly kind and helped us get in. We all had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back!

We absolutely loved everything about this place! It was large enough for our family and friends. The area is beautiful. Close enough to town if you need anything but still feels like camping. We will definitely be going back again!

Camping at Maple Creek was a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. The Creek was wonderful! Me and my fur babies spent lots of time cooiing off.... Stary nights were incredible!

Well shaded and secluded with ample room for our get together. We had 4 trucks and 4 tents with plenty of room to spare! The stream running through was fun for kids of all ages!

Nice secluded spot and Ken was very responsive and helpful. The only recommendation for Ken would be to add signs for each campsite. We will be going back!

The campsite was beautiful and secluded, though not far from the neighborhood road. Unfortunately there was an infestation of European red firebugs that infiltrated our tent, cooking supplies, and basically everything that wasn’t in the car. We came in July, though, so it could’ve just been the time of year. But they are generally immune to bug spray. We stayed in Site 1, across the stream. Site 2 is the first one you‘ll see as you come in but it’s too small for more than 2 tents plus 1 vehicle so plan accordingly. Site 3 is next to a still pond, so beware of mosquitos, and Site 4 is up a steeply inclined hill so 4 wheel drive is greatly recommended. We were worried about one of our vehicles bottoming out on the drive there, but there were pavers that we used to cross the stream. Overall, it was a great trip and would recommend because of its beauty and seclusion.

The Most Magical Camp Site

This camp site is pure magic. The creek makes this place the perfect camping spot. It’s shady, teeming with wildlife, and best of all, you’re not crammed in a site with a bunch of other people around. Hands down, my new favorite site. Must go!

This spot was BEAUTIFUL! Playing in the stream after setting up camp was amazing! We played in the water for hours. Listening to the running water as we slept in our tents was incredible as well. The owner was helpful with bringing his tractor up to help bring all of our things down the hill since our car couldn’t make it over the stream. I highly recommend this location!

Beautiful property. We were the only ones there and it was just what our family needed. Nice calm weekend surrounded by the sound of the river and all the amazing birds. Even got to watch a mama turkey with her babies. Nice place to go to get away from the commercialized over crowded campgrounds. Brought back the good old days were you could camp with out being parked and a cement slab with people right next to you. Thank you Ken.

Absolutely LOVED this spot! We were down by the river, which acted as white noise. Had a fire, cooked some breakfast, all while being away from everything! Because you’re by the river there are some bugs, just bring a can of old school coffee grounds with a candle and you’re set! We have a rooftop tent that we were able to just pull right in and setup. Ken was super helpful and easy going. We had all other party show up a few hours after us and we’re able to help guide him down, since Ken guided us down when we got there. Will visit this site again!

What a gem, tucked away in a quaint rural corner of Idaho, I was blown away by the biodiversity in every nook! This land is full of life and beauty, and the hosts were attentive, respectful, helpful, and friendly. I wish I would’ve caught the herb walk the day before!! I will definitely be back. All of the sites were beautiful, although I think I would choose the same one again though and stay at least 3 nights. There are tons of wild fruit trees, edible and medicinal plants, and the creek was really flowing heavily which made for an incredible sleep. What a magical place…

Loved the sight so beautiful and lots of wildlife around. Accessibility was tricky because of steep rocky roads and Sight 1 you cross the stream to get to it. Which the far side of the stream is a bit steep and rocky. Thought site 1 was closer to the bathroom but site 2 is actually closer. Wish the ad had said 4 wheel drive preferred or precarious access when wet. It’s not bad in dry weather but in snow or rain it would have been really hard to get in and out without 4 wheel drive. Luckily it was dry and we didn’t have too much trouble getting in or out just a scare/bump here and there/a running start going back out at the top.

Great spot. Drive thru farmland and end up at a great little spot just off the road. A little hard to find turn but got there. Site 1 was a great spot. Site 4 and 3 also looked awesome and fits a lot of people. Overall great experience would return. Also wood on site some soggy but some ready to burn

This is primitive camping. The hill is very steep to get to any of the camp spots. And to cross the river to site 1 is pretty steep going into and out of the creek! Site 4 is down that steep hill and then side-hill up and back down another steep hill. Sites 2 and 3 are near each other with site 2 being pretty open with not many trees. The others have plenty of tree cover. The sites are fairly spread out, so that’s nice unless your a group. There was one porta potty for all 4 sites, so it was pretty gross and fly filled by the end of a weekend. Over all it was a pleasurable stay, but the road structures could definitely use some improvement.

We had such an amazing time! The campground was beautiful, the property was beautiful! The little creek was so pretty to wake up and fall asleep to. My dog had the best time just running around. There is so much to explore. I will for sure be staying here again for another weekend get-a-way!

Site 1 is real gem. After a brief descent and one small creek crossing, you’re surrounded by trees that provide ample shade, privacy, and protection from rain. The only noisy neighbors we heard were birds, and the host Ken was kind and patient despite our twice altered arrival time.

Ken was able to meet us for a late check in and the site was exactly what we wanted. Secluded, quiet, shaded, with a port-a-potty as well! The gravel road in is steep so 4x4 is a must.

Secluded Maple Creek River bottoms
This place was great. The sites were set far enough apart (only four sites) and pretty secluded. It did rain which made the road into the site and the site was super muddy but we will definitely have to come back when it is a little warmer. The port a potty was also nice to have. Very clean.
